I have been told that the #1 song when I was born was "It's My Party" by Lesley Gore. (Kinda funny that it says "I'll cry if I want to", considering that's what babies often do when they're born. )

This topic was done on YL a time or 2; even your #1 song from the UK AND Canada as well as the US.
Again, for me, DJ Dave: (September 29, 1969)
US: Sugar sugar-Archies UK: Bad moon rising-CCR Canada: Little woman-Bobby Sherman

It was either Les Baxter's version of Unchained Melody or Rock Around the Clock. I think it was Unchained Melody though. Hard to say, most charts back then were chiseled on a rock.

I know (and like) all 3 of yours, Dave--I thought the Bobby Sherman one was actually called "Hey Little Woman". Am I wrong? Where do you find the Canadian ones? I know my US one is "It's My Party" and my UK one is "From Me to You", but what about Canada? (my date of birth is June 5, 1963)

Actually, I just checked the Canadian chart for you, Laura--it was also "It's my party" in Canada, and UK fave Cliff Richard actually had songs 2 and 3!
