Is Yes originally a band from Canada?
And there were two bands in the late 70's...I think they were Canadian, but I'm not sure and I was just wondering...Triumph and Zebra? Didn't one of them sing a song called "Behind The Wall", or something like that?
Thanks!

Glad I'm getting to answer this one!! Three of my fave bands! Yes is from England. The only member not from England was their third lead guitarist, Trevor Rabin, who was from South Africa. (Although you couldn't tell from looking at him!) Triumph was from Canada. Very similar to Rush in that regard (hard rocking, Canadian, trio). First major album was in 78. Zebra was from New Orleans. ALSO similiar to Rush and Triumph in that they were a hard rocking trio with a similiar sound. Maybe that was the confusion for you. Their first album was in 83, and their only Hot 100 hit was Who's Behind the Door? which is what I am sure you are thinking of. Got a fair amount of MTV play. Hope this helps!!

Yes, thank you! You're right, Yes is from England. I'm not sure why I thought they were Canadian?
I can remember people saying that Triumph was a "rip-off" of Rush. And I'm glad to know that Zebra is a real band! My friend thought I was making it up.

Maybe because Yes singer Jon Anderson has that similar high pitched voice? Yes, Triumph was a sort of cut rate Rush. I like em both. And Zebra was a band I forgot about years after MTV stopped playing that video. Then I was at somebody's house and the name of the band and song on a cassette looked familiar. I played it and WHOA flashback! LOL!

Yeah, it think it was the high-pitched voice that threw me through a loop. They sound similar.

Zebra is awesome! One of my favorite hard rock bands! I can count on one hand the number of people I know (outside the Click) that have heard of them, but I've loved them since the first time I heard them! The third album, 3.V, is SO underrated! I still have to pick up their new album, though..
Triumph I like a lot too, but I like the songs Rik Emmitt sings lead on, Gil Moore doesn't do much fo me...
