I remember seeing this topic posted on YL, but thought it might be fun to do it here. What was the number one song in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. for the week you were born? For me (September 15, 1968), it was: U.S. - 'People Got to Be Free' - Rascals Canada - 'Hey Jude' - Beatles U.K. - 'Hey Jude' - Beatles Here are links to the websites I used: U.S.:http://www.recordresearch.com/numones/numone_pop_6064.html Canada: www.webfitz.com/lyrics/Chartlst.htmlU.K.: www.flyingmusic.co.uk/number_one_hits.htm

That post used www.thisdayinmusic.com. That one also encouraged you to do your 18th birthday because it was supposed to be a mirror to your life. Mine: 10/14/73 US: Half-Breed by Cher Doesn't fit me at all, tho I did feel like an outcast sometimes but who hasn't? Canada: Delta Dawn by Helen Reddy - mom used to sing this one alot so it makes better sense UK: The Puppy Song by David Cassidy - I'm at a loss on this one I did thisdayinmusic again, and the US was the same, but the UK said Eye Level by Simon Park Orchestra - again, at a loss. For my 18th, it was Emotions by Mariah Carey (and I am an emotional person) for US, and Everything I Do (I Do It For You) by Bryan Adams (and I am a dedicated person and friend).

Well, none of these links go back as far as my birthday (March 25, 1944) -- so don't complain about being too old, dodger! I have it on good authority that in both the US and the UK the #1 song that week was Me Learn to Make Fire by Og and the Cavemen (whom I knew personally). Canada did not have a #1 song then, because Canada hadn't been invented yet. Seriously, for my 18th birthday (March 25, 1962), the songs were: US: Hey Baby by Bruce Channel Canada: Johnny Angel by Shelley Fabares UK: Wonderful Land by The Shadows (Cliff Richard's group.
