Hey, this is perfect as I see you are both on right now.
I want to get My Girl by Chiliwack (note news fader, BTW).
I noticed most compilations of various artists have a single edit.
My question-would you recommend their best of?
Thanks!

Outstanding song - love it! I don't have their Best of, but I do have Wanna Be A Star on vinyl, and there are some excellent cuts on it. I'm sure the Best of would be great as well!

Yes I would recommend it There are a few more songs that I would have like to have seen included but it's a good collection. I was suprised to find out that 1. The Greatest Hits disc is back in print - it was deleted for a long time and shouldn't have been to begin with. and that 2. Wanna Be a Star (which I have on cassette) was released on CD - very cool:)

oops - I wanted to ask you Adam - what is the running time of the "single edit ?" You know what, it's not a huge difference-it's only cut by like 15 seconds. But why did they bother to cut it in the first place, you know?

No I don't - I see what you mean - it certaintly is no big difference. My copy of the Greatest Hits CD - which is the old copy lists the song at 3:58 meanwhile on the reissue that's listed on the all music guide lists the 4:16 version - I'm thinking that they goofed but maybe not - you're right most of the compilations have the edit.

The only reason I think the 4:16 version is right is because that is what is listed on the original album, according to allmusic. Do you have that original album? If not, maybe Dawn can check. Like I said, it's not that much of a difference either way, but I'd still prefer the full length version.

Most places I call can't even order it, but I am hoping that local place I always talk about has it.

So is the original album listed as 4:16? I'm not sure about the vinyl - but I would think It would be the same as my CD which was issued here in Canada in 1988 - it lists the song at 3:58 . On the Wanna Be a Star CD it has the unedited version of 4:16.
