Cool coloring on that pic! First cassette-Singles I thought that picture was pretty cool too! I had to do a bit of hunting to find a good color shot - most of the ones I came across were too small. I have the Singles cassette also!

How about overrated group member? Just kidding. I don't know much of them really. The first song I heard was Every Breath You Take and I've heard probably three more, max. So that's it for me. LOL! It does seem as though fewer and fewer of their songs are getting regular radio airplay these days.

Favorite group member: Sting (when he was in the band most especially) First Police song you can remember hearing: Knew them right from the beginning--Roxanne (LOTS of FM rock play when I first regularly listened to FM in '79) I think I prefer Sting with the Police than solo also. He's had some good solo material, but it hasn't seemed quite as consistent. I don't think I heard Roxanne until the early '80s - for some reason, the top 40 station I usually listened to didn't play it. But in '80 or '81, a new station came on the air that played more AOR songs and rock hits, and I discovered some very good songs from it.

Favorite member:Stewart Most overrated: Every Breath You Take (though I DO like it, in small doses) I had not known much about Stewart prior to seeing a profile of the band a few years ago (I think it was VH-1's Behind the Music), but he is quite talented, and I think he and Andy have not always received the credit they should for the band's success. I'm the same way about Every Breath - not a bad song, but I think they had better ones that didn't get nearly as much airplay.

Most underrated group member: Stewart Copeland (he's AWESOME!) 20. Spirits In The Material World (with Pato Banton) As I mentioned to Pete above, I was really impressed with Stewart's musical talent from watching the profile on the group. I'm not familiar with this version of Spirits, but would be interested in checking it out!

First Police song you can remember hearing: Message In A Bottle in '79 First 45 you owned:Message in a Bottle - My brother's band covered it back then so he bought the 45 to learn it, then gave it to me when he was finished - wasn't that nice? I think Message in a Bottle is probably the song of theirs I hear most often on the classic rock stations today. But it took awhile for the stations here to start picking up their music - I don't remember hearing any of the Outlandos D'Amour or Reggata De Blanc songs until after Zenyatta came out, and then I started hearing more of them on that station I mentioned in my reply to Dave. Very cool!

I'm not familiar with this version of Spirits, but would be interested in checking it out! It can be heard at the closing credits of "Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls." I thought it was pretty cool, so I bought the CD single
