Fave group member: Eddie Van Halen, just because he's Eddie Van Halen. No special reason that I can pinpoint.
Best vocalist: David Lee Roth
Fave songs: Don't know enough to comment here. Mainly just Jump, Hot For Teacher and other major biggies.
I own no Van Halen albums, CD, LP or otherwise and I don't have any favorites as far as instrumentation, etc.

That is the coolest picture! I've never seen it! Where did you dig it up?? At one point in grade school VH was my FAVE band ever!! I found it on ClassicVanHalen.com, in The Band section of the photo gallery. They have some great pictures on that site. They were one of Mark's faves also! I remember listening to those tapes in the car when we were dating. Good stuff!

I've always leaned much more toward the classic Dave era material, but am thinking that I probably should give some of the Sammy material another chance - there's a lot from the more recent albums that I'm not familiar with. I do like most of I've heard from him as a solo artist.

Most underrated song: Finish What Ya Started - love the different guitar sound Eddie had, very different to what we heard before this. Favorite album(s): Van Halen and 1984 Best instrumentation: Hot For Teacher - I like the video too - what can I say? I'm a guy LOL Eddie is absolutely amazing on guitar. I think he definitely ranks among the very best guitarists of the rock era. I've been going back and forth between those two albums as my favorite. Both are very solid! LOL about the Hot For Teacher video!

I was trying to recall if I'd heard You Really Got Me prior to hearing Dance the Night Away, but I don't think any of the tracks from the first album started getting play here until a bit later on. But Dance the Night Away I remember well - very radio-friendly.
