You're right. It does sound somewhat like Ringo.

But with one of the lines in the song being "If your child needs a daddy, I can help" ...

One time when my cousin was visiting he asked me about the song and if I had it (which I did, I put it on a cassette for him) - and in descibing it to me said "You know he sounds a bit like Ringo"
