I just thought of this for a topic of discussion. What is your favorite band name? You don't have to like their music, but what band name just "says it all" to you? (and it has to be a real band)
For me, it's gotta be Faith No More

Couldn't pick one, but I liked the weird 60s band names like Strawberry Alarm Clock and Electric Prunes and Moby Grape.
I wonder when Snakes on a Plane will become a band name?

These aren't bands, they're individuals.
Miss Toni Fisher - Who added Miss to her name to assure she was never confused with Tony from the mob.
Mr. Acker Bilk - So that people would realize that he was a person, and not ask 'what's an Acker Bilk?'

I've always thought Three Dog Night was a cool name, a little quirky and offbeat. I've always liked the explanation as to how they came up with it as well.
Wings is another favorite of mine. Very simple, yet classy.
Like Mike, I also like the vivid psychedelic names of the '60s bands - Orange Colored Sky, Chocolate Watchband, Vanilla Fudge.

(No I don't! ) Nancy and I were in Colorado on vacation about 8 or so years ago and drove up Pikes Peak. On the way down, we stopped at the obligatory souvenir stand. There was a young girl, probably about 18 or so, at the register and in front of her was a display of various kinds of fudge. I pointed at the one marked Vanilla Fudge and told her that I thought that would be a great name for a band. For my troubles, I got a blank stare from the girl, and an "Ed, you're old!" from Nancy.

I'm also fond of the psychedelic type of names
The Ultimate Spinach Love The Acid Gallery The Marmalade Papa Bear's Medicine Show (a band from Vancouver that was popular in the late 60's early 70's)
