either through library finds, audio samples, something you bought etc. Here are a couple of things I've recently heard: Fountains of Wayne - Traffic and Weather - Their brand new release. i've listened to a few audio samples and I think that it's very good - full of upbeat 3 minute pop tunes.I'm going to be adding this to my collection soon. L.E.O - Alpacas Orgling - How that's for an album title? I have NO IDEA how they came up with that - LOL. Anyway the band includes drummer Steve Gorman formerly of the Black Crowes and Andy Sturmer who was in the power pop band Jellyfish. As you maybe be able to tell from the bands name this is basically a tribute to Jeff Lynne and E.L.O. These guys are HUGE fans and have recreated the"E.L.O. sound" flawlessly . I'll include a link to the bands myspace page so you can have a listen. It's good stuff! www.myspace.com/bleuleo

Good topic, Ken!
I'd read about L.E.O a couple of months ago, but had not actually heard any of their songs then. They definitely sound like ELO - very cool!
I've discovered some cool stuff recently through the internet site Pandora.com. You can create individual "stations" based on artists and/or songs you like, and the site will suggest music that has similar qualities. Some of the songs I've heard that I really like include:
Flying High - David Crosby Arbuckle's Swan Song - Ambulance LTD My Life - Francis Jocky I Got A Feeling (not the Beatles song) - Ron Wood
Also, some music by the Wondermints, and I recently came across Roger Nichols & the Small Circle of Friends' album from '68 - fantastic music!

Here's another great song I discovered from Pandora: Utopia's Windows. I have several of Todd Rundgren's albums, but not much of his work with Utopia...need to remedy that.
I've also been listening to Pete Ham's Golders Green. Excellent songs on there - Pete was very talented.

I'm familiar with quite a bit of Utopia's music, great stuff! - but I've never heard that particular song. A few nights ago I was listening to both Golders Green and 7 Park Avenue. Yes, he was very talented , and what a voice!

Lynch Mob- I know Rob (Telestrings/Yeaterdaysgone) likes them a lot. I had the "Wicked Sensation" tape many years ago but never really listened to it. But I got an iTunes card from Dani for Father's day and downloaded the album. It's really good, much raunchier than Dokken (which I'm not surprised, as George Lynch was always the one who wanted to be gritty, while Don Dokken wanted to be more "pop metal")
Kingdom Come-I used to despise this band. They came out in '88 with a sound that was the most blatant rip off of Led Zeppelin possible. "Get It On" got quite a lot of airplay and the first album did well, but the second and third albums tanked. My best friend in high school bought the tape back then, but I just couldn't get into it (my other best friend bought Europe, I STILL can't get into that one...) I downloaded a few Kingdom Come songs, and they actually don't seem like the Zeppelin clone they were accused of being back then. Lenny Wolf had a very good voice that was very unique and distinctive. I really like "Do You Like It" and "Should I?"
