I don't think I went through a metal phase. I don't know...when I think of metal, I think of bands like, Quiet Riot, Ratt, Motley Crew (sp?), Twisted Sister and Iron Maiden. I didn't really like any of them, the one exception is Iron Maiden's "Run To The Hills", that's a good song! But like bands like Journey, Def Leppard, Yes, Van Halen and Rush. Which I consider those rock bands. What's the difference between metal and rock and roll? Run to the Hills is AWESOME! You know, you said the same thing as my wife, and you are both right. Those bands are rock. Hard rock, but not metal. I used to consider Def Leppard, Van Halen and Rush metal, but she pointed out them and even AC/DC and Aerosmith aren't really "metal". Bands like Metallica, Maiden, Megadeth-now THAT'S metal! So there's your difference!

I never went through a heavy metal phase. The guys were so ugly! I did go through a new Romantic phase though, because I thought guys like Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet were hot. I did dress like Madonna for a while too, but that's not really heavy metal.

I guess my stage started in the 70's with Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. It continued through 80's with such bands as Def Leppard, Kiss, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Quiet Riot and Guns N' Roses to name a few. Now what's considered Metal then is now Classic Rock today.

Oh, man, did I. The louder the better ! That probably explains my partial loss of hearing.

I still like the big hair metal of the 80's. It reminds me of my highschool daze! ;D

I have never really liked metal. Hard rock is ok, metal sounds too much like screaming to me. (No offense to anyone who likes metal!)

In high school I was definitely a metal head. Few of my faves were Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Motley Crew and ACDC. Didn't really dress the part all the time, but I occasionally did the metal/grunge look for parent shock factor, or for a party.
