Hi guys! I'm back. ..and as promised, I'm gonna try a new game. It's called Name That Theme. I'm going to name three artists. Each artist has recorded a song that made the charts (not obscure songs, either) that has a common theme. You guys have to come up with the theme and name the three songs. If after a period of time (let's say a day) no one guesses the theme. I'll start giving clues. (This is a work in progress, so please bear with me, and we'll change the rules of the game as we go along if it proves to be too difficult or too easy). Here's an example: The three artists are: The Carpenters, Johnny Rivers, and the Eurythmics, the theme would be "Songs about Rain" (Rainy Days and Mondays, Summer Rain, and Here Comes The Rain Again) Get it?? OK here's today's game: The Four Seasons Roy Orbison Billy Joel 5 points for the first person to Name the theme and list the three songs. Now -- Name That Theme!

The only thing I can think of is Joel had Uptown Girl and Orby had Uptown.
Am I on to anything?

Sorry .. no clues until tomorrow . You do have the right IDEA of how to play the game, though. If the four seasons had a song with the word "Uptown" in the title - you would win, even if that isn't what I had in mind. But we need a theme and THREE song titles.

Wish I had more time to ponder this...I'm onto something but pretty certain I haven't got exactly what you want. Theme: Songs about crying Four Seasons: Big Girls Don't Cry Roy Orbison: Crying Billy Joel: River of Dreams (because of the term "Cry me a river") Yeah, the third is a stretch

You won't have to stretch nearly that far.

That's an excellent guess Railyn -- but wrong. It's actually song themes - not Theme songs. Keep on guessing. Next clue will come up tomorrow morning.

DAY 2 -
OK... no correct answers yet:
Reviewing the information you have to date:
The common theme is present in three songs, one each by:
The Four Seasons Roy Orbison and Billy Joel
The "free clue was:
All three of the songs made the weekly billboard top 10
New clue:
The title of one of the songs will immediately make you think of a particular MC-er.
The correct answer is now worth ... 4 points (lose a point with each new clue/day).

OK we gotta liven this up!!
Sat's guesses yesterday were definitely on the right track. Of course, the Four Seasons never did a song called Uptown or Uptown anything -- so the theme can't be "Songs with Uptown in the Title"
So... think of Sat's guesses and think of the clue I gave you earlier today.

Ok, how about this- Dawn (Go Away) My Life It's Over All songs about ending relationships?? And Dawn is a Clickster! OK. That isn't at all what I was thinking of, but it fits the clues and the rules of the game. -- So you get 4 points. The "real" theme was songs about poor boys. Songs: Four Seasons- Dawn Billy Joel - Uptown Girl Roy Orbison - Working For The Man or Uptown (either one is correct) OK the score is: Sat - 4 Everybody Else - 0 New game starting as a new thread ---- NOW!
