Awww crap, Railyn just beat me to it. Oh well, just in case she's not on the right track I'm going to look for other connections... Edited to add: AhA! I still have a chance!!! ;DOkay, {crosses fingers} maybe this is it - Songs that ask a question? Fleetwoods - What'll I Do? Marvin Gaye - What's Going On? or Where Are We Going? Dion - Where or When? My other idea was grammar related: songs that use the first-person declarative tense > Fleetwooods - I Care So Much Marvin Gaye - I Heard It Through The Grapevine Dion - I Wonder Why Am I close on either? Do I get points for originality?

Do I get points for originality? I must admit that "first-person declarative tense" is definitely the most original answer we've had since the game started. It's also probably the most incorrect. ;D Songs that ask a question isn't right either. - But you're thinking! Keep it up. We'd like to see you on the scoreboard. - But you better hurry. Right now Adam is paging through his dog-eared Whitburn, and Dave is mentally reviewing the lyrics of every song that has ever been written to try and find the correct answer. BTW, remember, these all have th be Top 40 songs. Kitty, I don't think those two Fleetwood songs were Top 40.

I decided to wait. I have the Hot 100 book here at work, and the top 40 at home. There is WAY too much Marvin to go through in this book. (Not to mention the other two). To be honest, these Themes are hard! I don't know how anybody does it WITHOUT a reference book!

I wasn't picking on you. I was picking on Dave. Some themes are hard, some are easy. I'll tell you, it isn't easy to come up with three songs and a theme everyday either-- and try to stay a day or two ahead. Coudn't do it without my own Whitburn. ;D

Songs about women running around? Fleetwoods-Runaround Marvin Gaye-I'll be doggone (But if I ever caught you running around, blowing my money all over this town) Dion-Runaround Sue You got the theme, Dave! (Railyn was close, but "Roaming" is something different.) The three songs all fit, and you get 5 points, but interestingly, as has happened often, I had some different songs. Same song for Dion, but I was thinking of I Heard It Threw The Grapevine for Marvin (I think your guess is better, actually), and for the Fleetwoods I had Mr. Blue ("...headed for the lights of town, proving your love isn't true") ... and the score: Sat 24 DJDave 22 Railyn 18 Pete 17 Dawn 16 Rali 15 dodger 14 Everybody else 0 Next game tomorrow!
