Neil Diamond's Kentucky Woman was covered by Deep Purple. And Deep Purple when they first formed were known as Roundabout which was a very popular tune by Yes. "And You And I" by YES was covered by RICK WAKEMAN.

Kenny Loggins was a big contributor to 1980s soundtracks, like "Caddyshack", "Footloose", and "Top Gun".
The Top Gun soundtrack also featured BERLIN.

Poison's frontman Bret Michaels won his season of "Celebrity Apprentice". Currently, we have other music stars on that show...one being MEAT LOAF. MEAT LOAF's album, BAT OUT OF HELL, was produced by TODD RUNDGREN. Todd Rundgren also produced part of Straight Up by Badfinger.
