Time for game #16. Current score: Pete70s 22 DJ Dave 13 Sat 11 55dodger 10 Rali 8 Railyn 6 DJ's mom 5 Everybody Else 0 This one might be a little tough. That's because I'm asking you to get the theme EXACTLY. The three songs will each give you part of the theme. You will get NO credit for ALMOST getting the theme, and I won't even tell you that you are close for the first day or two. You get the usual 5 points for the songs and EXACT theme, and another point to name the star of the movie that has the same title as the theme. Confusing? Tough! The three artists: The Beatles Bobby Vinton Roy Orbison Name That Theme!

No, Trip, you don't win. That was a good try and could have been right. - movie and all! The correct theme is a little more difficult. Glad you joined the game, though. Keep on trying, you can guess as many times as you want. -- And the rest of you characters --- join the game !! ;D

OK. Clue time. I said I wasn't going to comment on whether any guesses were close for a day or two. Well, I think we better make it a day.
So, this 6-point game is now worth no more than 5 points to any single individual.
Here's the clue. TripleJ's answer is on the right track, and he actually has one song right (I won't say which one).
But, remember I said that each song represents PART of the theme. If the correct theme were "Blue", each of Trip's songs would have represented the entire theme.
Keep on tryin' guys. ;D

Guys: It looks like we're getting nowhere fast. No one has even hazarded a guess since Trip two nights ago. (Although I think Dodger may have been trying last night and then deleted it. - A response by him was listed as "last message posted" around midninght last night, but when I tried to click on it, it had disappeared. ) OK we have to give more clues and lower the maximum point total that one person can get to 4.: Remember I said that one of TripleJ's songs was correct. I'll reveal that it is Roy's "Blue Bayou". I'll also say that it could have been his "Blue Angel" as well. In other words you could surmise that "Blue" is indeed a component of the Theme - but it is not the theme itself. (That's why Trip's other two songs were wrong.) So primarily, you need to find a different Bobby Vinton song and a different Beatles song. Grab your Whitburns, kiddies, and keep trying. ;D

I guess I need to get one of these "Whitburns" you all speak of... Nah. A sharp lightning-quick mind will do. Seriously - and here is another clue - I bet anyone who is familiar with the Beatles music and with Bobby Vinton's can come up with the right songs WITHOUT a Whitburn, just remembering that Roy's song is Blue Bayou (or Blue Angel).

If you use Roses are Red, you'd have Red, White and Blue, but there is no Beatles song with White.

Oh, well I don't have one of those either. I need a Whitburn as backup.

OK.. This MAY work
We have the Roy and Vinton songs, which give us blue and red, Add "Yellow Submarine" and you have three Primary Colors, which is a movie starring John Travolta.

That's it! You get four points. TripleJ gets a point for Blue Bayou and Adam gets a point for stumbling onto -- uh -- I mean -- correctly coming up with Roses are Red. So.. Pete passes the half-way mark, and the current score: Pete70s 26 DJ Dave 13 Sat 12 55dodger 10 Rali 8 Railyn 6 DJ's mom 5 TripleJ 1 Everybody Else 0 Next game tomorrow!

That's a Canadian Football point, for when a team tries to kick a field goal, and the ball winds up rolling into the end zone instead.

Actually you did fine, and very likely helped Pete out a lot. But I LOVE to give you a hard time. (It's my job, and someone has to do it.)

And I would feel neglected if you didn't! ;D BTW-go to the main board! On party night, I did a post about "virtual gifts" I was giving everyone!
