Mony Mony - Billy Idol (I should have included that in the "'80s songs you don't like" thread!) Name a non-holiday song that mentions snow in the title or lyrics. Is it just the Billy version you don't like or the song itself? I love the Tommy James version. Desperado - The Eagles ("The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine") Name a song that mentions a holiday other than: Christmas, Independence Day/4th of July, Halloween or Easter.

I like Tommy James' version, but Billy's I've never cared for much. Valentine Day - Paul McCartney Name a song about a restaurant or diner.

Scenes From an Italian Restaurant - Billy Joel Name a song that spent more than 1 week at #2 on the Billboard Charts. How about the all time record holder Waiting for a Girl Like You - Foreigner 10 consecutive weeks at #2 (Never made #1 thanks to Olivia Newton-John's "Let's Get Physical" Name a song that lists three types of transportation in the title or lyrics.

"Get Here"-Oleta Adams ("railway", "airplane", "sailboat" among others)
I asked this question on another board, but let's try it here too:
Name a song that is recorded in 2 (or more!) different versions on the same album by the same artist or group.

The title track to "Dreamboat Annie", by Heart. Name a song that refers to a black comedian in the lyrics.

The title track to "Dreamboat Annie", by Heart. That was the first song I thought of! But there are several others as well. As for your latest question: "Jammin' Me"-Tom Petty (mentions Eddie Murphy) Now let me think of one...hmmmm...OK, I'll do the "picking a word at random out of a book" trick again: Name a song with the word "ground" in the title and/or lyrics. (Actually, the word my finger landed on was "the"! But I thought that might make it too easy, so I just went to the next word...)

The answer I had in mind was Jackson Browne's cover of "Stay", which mentions Richard Pryor. Still...okay, In "Space Oddity", by Bowie, "ground" is the very first word in the song. Try this...name a song that mentions fishing, and a fisherman, but isn't about either. HINT: the subject of the song is the exact opposite of a word in the group's name.

The answer I had in mind was Jackson Browne's cover of "Stay", which mentions Richard Pryor. I thought of that too. Also the theme from "Fat Albert": "And Bill's gonna tell you a thing or two..."--"Bill" being Cosby, of course. But I can't think of any answer to your latest one yet. Does it have to refer to only one song? In other words, can we just use the fishing clue and go from that, or do we have to use the hint also? Is the hint for just one POSSIBLE answer in case we get stuck? Or do we HAVE to find THAT answer? This is just me, but I tend to come up with questions in this game that have more than one possible answer. For example, yesterday after I picked the word "ground" at random, I thought of a TON of songs that would fit! But I guess there's no hard and fast rule about whether a question should have just one possible answer or more than one.

It's cloudy, and cold, so I'm going to live up to my title of "curmudgeon"...this refers to one specific song. Howzaboutanother hint? It's a 60's song.

Well, I'm guessing that the song is "Come On Down to My Boat" by Every Mother's Son. It's about a fisherman's daughter ("daughter" being the opposite of "son").
Now the problem is that I have to wait and find out if that is the right answer before I can post another question. *sigh* Actually I have played a game on some other boards called "Guess the Song Game" in which a person describes a particular song and people have to guess what it is. But this game we are playing here is usually more open-ended.

OK, next question:
Name a song with some type of candy in the title and/or lyrics. (I know we've done this same game with "food" and with "something sweet", but not specifically candy.)

How about: Peppermint Twist - Joey Dee & The Starliters (I think...) (Since I'm kinda new here I'll wait for your reply)

Yeah that is their name and that is their song title. On this question, though, there's not ONE SPECIFIC answer, but LOTS of them. (shoot--I remember now, we already did this question--sorry about that, guys)
Anyway, Boogie, you get to ask the next question.
