I thought this might be fun. I'm only gonna do this once a week, in the hopes that it doesn't get stale, and I don't run out of material. I'm gonna try and provide some clues to some songs that have been getting a lot of tv airplay lately (and a few from the past). Try and name the song. If no one gets it in 24 hours time, I'll add another clue. It's up to the general concensus if we want to keep track of points, etc. Doesn't matter to me. Please name the song and the product. Ok, so...... What Song Am I? ? 1) I hit my popularity in the 70's. 2) I'm sung by a group, not a single artist. 3) I'm plugging a product that didn't exsist in my time. 4) In Railyn's opinion, my lyrics have nothing to do with the product 5) Only part of me appears in the commercial (the chorus) I'll do clarifications on an case by case basis..... **bonus info for help: I believe the commercial is still airing - it had been for the last few months**

(Except that I suck at it. I may recognize the song, but I totally tune out commercials. So - I may guess the song, but I'll have no idea what the product is. I'm gonna take a wild guess. Dust In The Wind By Kansas. They use it to attempt to sell some kind of Garbage Truck (excuse me, SUV)

I'll cut you some slack on the product. Good guess, but no.
I'll give it until tomorrow, and add a few more clues....

Would it be "Just What I Needed" by the Cars. There are some things Best Buy sells that didn't exist in the 70s.

Great feature, Railyn! Let's see...a few months ago, there was a commercial for Dell computers that used a popular song from that time, but I'm drawing a blank right now on which song it was. Edit: Is the song Play That Funky Music?

I don't watch much TV, so maybe I better sit this one out. Unless I see one that I just happen to know...

Ok - round 2 for clues:
1) I help advertise a service, not a product. 2) People use this service to change something in their lives. 3) I was a Top 40 hit in 1977 (one of 12 for my group in the 70's). 4) My group is British in origin. 5) The people shown in the commercial are very happy.
Keep guessin!
