Here's my latest attempt: A Hard Day's Night (#1) Love Is Here And Now You're Gone (#1) Down On The Corner (#3) Days Gone Down, which was a top 40 hit for Gerry Raffrety No, wait... none of those were used yet... Never mind.. Yes Pete, you are right that this is wrong. Again, don't focus on the "fourth" song. I only mentioned it as a way that you would confirm your theme. "Days Gone Down" is not a common expression. I will also tell you and everybody else, that none of the three songs are right. -- and since people are having SO much trouble (probably due to the sheer number of candidates for the Beatles and Supremes) I'll show you all how the fact that Pete's current answers are all wrong gives you additional information: Pete guessed the CCR song as Down on the Corner. This is incorrect. It is also the ONLY #3 song that CCR had. Since we also know that CCR NEVER had a #1 song, therefore the CCR song is a #2 song. Furthermore, since the sum of the ranks must be 5, then either the Beatles OR the Supreme's song (BUT NOT BOTH) is a #1, and the other one is a #2. Well, this is really turning out to be a noggin' scratcher... Without my Whitburn book or my Billboard book of #2 hits, the only #2 Beatles songs I know of are "Do You Want To Know A Secret" and "Yellow Submarine". And to my knowledge the Supremes only had one #2, "Reflections". My assumption is that the song that was used correctly is "Lookin' Out My Back Door", a #2 hit, and the one CCR tune I'm not that crazy about.. So here's what I came up with: Do You Want To Know A Secret Where Did Our Love GoLookin' Out My Back Door I Want To Go Back, or I Wanna Go Back-Eddie Money

Wanna Go Back is not correct. I don't have my Whitburn with me either, but according to allmusic.com you are correct that Reflections is the only Supremes #2 (unless you count Im Gonna Make You Love Me with the Temptations). allmusic.com lists Twist and Shout as well as Do You Want to Know A Secret, and Yellow Submarine as the only Beatles #2s. Working on the #2s rather than the vast number of #1s to start with is a very good way to do this. And in fact, you have now correctly identified two of the songs. One thing you're forgetting is that the theme (or part of the theme) isn't always in the title. --and another clue ... in this round, the theme components are in the title in two of the songs.

Okay, here's my guess:
Stop, In the Name of Love - The Supremes Lookin' Out My Back Door - CCR (Listen) Do You Want To Know A Secret - The Beatles
Stop, Look, Listen!
Which I think(?) was a hit for someone.

It's time to remember and celebrate Sharon Tate for who she was ... not what happened to her.

I guess I still have a long ways to go ... I thought about Stop, Look and Listen but didn't use it because I thought the actual words of the song made the answer. Maybe I'll sit a few more out until I get a better feel for this game.

Try looking back at some of the old games. This is the 3rd year we're playing. So the others are back on some earlier pages on the game board. Year 2 is on pages 3 and 4. Year 1 is back around page 7.

Everyone else did all the work for me on this one. I will say that the only reason I got it was Ed's clue about one part of the theme not being in the title of the song. Anyway, thanks Pete!

Anyway, thanks Pete! -- But you (and everybody else) missed my clue about getting on the "right track". Stop, look and listen is associated with railroad crossings. Now go and work on Round #8 which is ongoing.
