Our score so far:
Dawn 12 Pete70s 12 KittyKat 11 Triple J 5 55dodger 3 Sat 2 Laura 1 telestrings 0 DaDooDaidy 0
Everybody Else DNP (which means did not play)
Tight game, and getting tighter.
This one may be a little tricky. I have a feeling that either someone is going to get it right away, or it'll take quite a while.
I'm going to give the artists in correct order. Keep them that way. There are 4 artists - 1 point each for the correct song (if you appear to be heading the right way toward the theme). The theme is worth 2 points of course. If you can then name a song and artist that would come next in the sequence, that's another point. So it's a 7 point game.
.. And the artists:
The Spinners Jim Reeves The Searchers Ringo Starr
Name That Theme!

Ok I'll start with the obvious ...
One of a Kind (Love Affair) - The Spinners Four Walls - Jim Reeves Love Potion Number Nine - The Searchers You're Sixteen - Ringo Starr
Songs that have numbers in them ... I'll take a look to see if I can find anything else ...

Your on the right track, but the theme (worth 2 points) is a little more than just numbers. -- and thats why there's also another point available for stating the song and artist of the fifth song.

Ok here's my guess for the fifth song and the theme ...
Ballet for a Girl in Buchannon: 25 or 6 to 4 - Chicago
The 8th square number = 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49, 64 [8x8 =64]
Also can be looked at like this:
1 x 1 = 1 2 x 2 = 4 3 x 3 = 9 4 x 4 = 16 5 x 5 = 25

The theme is the geometric progression of squares, (or just a sequence of square numbers) So in the sequence of the squares of 1, 2, 3, and 4 are, as you say, 1,4,9,16. The next one in the sequence would be the square of 5, or 25. So actually the song I was thinking of was Edwin Starrs "25 Miles" But 25 or 6 to 4 certainly fits. So you got 7 points. Way to go, Rob! You leapfrog into 4th place. .. and the score ... Dawn 12 Pete70s 12 KittyKat 11 telestrings 7 Triple J 5 55dodger 3 Sat 2 Laura 1 DaDooDaidy 0 Everybody Else DNP Next game starts tomorrow.

Y'know, I saw that you, Adam and me were the only three on line, and two people were "viewing" the games board (I was on the main board at the time. ) So I figured that both of you were working on the Name That Theme game. After you got the four songs, I REALLY thought Adam was going to jump in an "collect the garbage" -- answer the theme after all the songs are guessed. But you beat him. Way to go, Rob!!

Yeah, yeah, yeah-shouldn't you deduct points since 25 or 6 to 4 is not part of Ballet For a Girl in Buchannon??

I should deduct some points from you for bitchin' about it. But that would put you in the red, and it's a pain to click on the "colors" icon all the time. Oh.... maybe you want to check out this website. www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=33:tk9dsd25a3rg ;D

The page seemed to work just fine for me. Congratulations to Rob on the answer. I kept staring at the song titles and trying to think of the theme and I completely missed the number connection. And I always enjoyed math.

Oh no, it does go to allmusic, but the actual page of it says, "Oops...." Adam, the problem is that when I typed in the website, the Click site did not recognise the entire web address. You have to highlight the entire webaddress and copy it in to your browser. I've been on that site a million times. I've known about it for years. I'm guessin you were referring me there as a way to answer the quizzes. Unfortunately, it only helps a little bit. Most times (not this particular one) your question entails knowing specific lyrics and in that case allmusic is no help whatsoever. And that is why I'm no good at this game.
