The answers to these questions can be EASILY found in Joel Whitburn's "musical bible". So of course there is no challenge if you use it.
The trick here is to use logic and your memory to see how well you know the success of singles on the Hot 100.
So I ask if you do look up the answers that you don't answer the questions! Thanks!
1. Two of the Monkees B sides released DURING the TV series run did not make the Top 40 (or the Hot 100 for that matter). Name one (or both!).
2. Eddie Money's biggest hits (both top 10) were Take Me Home Tonight and Walk on Water. The next highest were two songs that both peaked at 11. One is Baby Hold On. What is the other?
3. Alice Cooper's biggest hits both went to number seven. School's Out was on the charts 13 weeks. The other was on 19 weeks. What was it? (And there is no difference between Alice the group and Alice the man here.)
4. Speaking of two number seven's, the Kinks had two. (Come Dancing was the highest at six.) What were they?
5. How many weeks has Eric Clapton spent at number 1?

I'm thinking for #3 .... Poison?
#4 Guessing - All Day and All Of The Night and ... Lola?
#5 I'm trying to think what #1s he had. Maybe I Shot The Sheriff only? I'll say 1.
Good game Adam

Good game - let's see how my brain is working. 1. You know I don't know crap about the Monkees 2. Two Tickets To Paradise 3. You & I ? 4. You Really Got Me & Lola 5. This question kind of confused me - how many weeks total has Clapton spent at #1? Ever in his life as a solo artist? I know "Tears In Heaven" spent a crapload of time there, and I think he also had a #1 with "I Shot The Sheriff" and maybe "Change The World"? So if I'm guessing total I would say total weeks 10? If the question was how many songs of his went to #1 my guess is 3?

I seem to remember that of the four big Alice ballads (You and Me, Only Women Bleed, How You Gonna See Me Now and I Never Cry) three of them peaked at #12 and one (I can't remember which) made it to #9. That's why I picked Poison, which I'm pretty sure was top 10, but I don't know how high. 5. Another thing I think I remember is that Tears in Heaven never made it to #1 (peaked at 2 or 3, I'm pretty sure). I'm stickin' with I Shot The Sheriff as his only #1 and I remember it only was up there for a week. A buddy of mine back then used to hate the song, so the rest of us used to sing or hum it all the time.

1. Yep, that's one of them! Let's see if someone else knows the other. I don't think "Take A Giant Step" charted.
