As John just so quietly put it, he's the new leader. I never looked to see what the Las Vegas line was on John winning it all before this season began. I'm betting the odds are shorter now. Anyway I tried to post todays round about 30 minutes ago but my Internet server was down. So we'll try again. The Artists: The Marvelettes Barbra Streisand Wilson Pickett Name That Theme!

We'll try this Marvelettes - Too Many Fish in the Sea Barbra Streisand - Songbird Wilson Pickett - Mustang Sally Theme - Animals No, Woody. That's not it. Good guess though. Not only did you have animals, but you had fish, fowl, and beast. - but that's not it either. Keep on trying though.

Okay, first guess didn't work, so let's try this one.
Marvelettes - Beechwood 4-5789 Barbra Streisand - Second Hand Rose Wilson Pickett - Don't Let the Green Grass Fool You
Theme - Plants ( the fauna didn't work, maybe the flora will).

OK ... 24 hours later and times up for 5 points. Two good tries by Woody, but nothing else. Yet there's been 28 different viewings of the thread as I write this, so it's not like you guys haven't been spending some time trying to figure it out.
So ... we're down to four points and time for some more clues:
For each of the three artists there is one key word in each song. It's a different word in each. In two cases, it's in the title; in the third, it's in the lyrics.
Woody came up with two themes in which he guessed a total of six songs. One of them is correct. (Can't give you credit for that song though, Woody, because you weren't anywhere near the correct theme)
So .. go to it guys. ;D

I know The Marvelettes have Beechwood 4-5789 and Wilson Pickett has Soulville 634-5789. Not sure of any Streisand songs, but could it be phone numbers?

This was my original guess from the beginning, but I can't for the life of me think of any Streisand top 40 lyric that has a phone number or talks about phone numbers. And I KNOW my Streisand lyrics. And nevermind, since Ed confirmed this isn't it.

And nevermind, since Ed confirmed this isn't it. Y'know, it's really funny. I focus so much on what the real theme is, that I totally ignore false leads, like the phone number thing, which is such an obvious choice. The Marvellettes and Wilson Pickett probably have two of the three most well-known phone number songs of the rock era (along with Tommy Tutone, of course,) but until Pete and then you mentioned it , it totally slipped past me. BTW, Pete, sorry for the abrupt "no" I gave you for your answer. I ran in the house from work, just took a minute to make a quick check for answers on the game, and Nancy and I went out. So I didn't have much time. Anyway, keep on guessing.

OK. It's been another 24 hours, and one try by Pete which was incorrect. We're down to a three point game and it's time for some more clues.
Of the three songs, one is way up on the charts and the other two could be candidates for Pete's Bottom 20.
The song that Woody guessed correctly is one of the bottom 20 songs. It's not one of the songs that Pete guessed. Pete did not guess a correct song.
Finally, along with all the clues that I gave you, there were some hidden clues in there as well, both this time and the previous times I gave clues.
Go to it!

Way to go, Kitty. Time is it! That's OK, Rob. Just wanted to make sure you weren't getting tired of playing. A lot of people in Vegas are still betting on you to come on and win this thing. ;D
