I hate only giving an incomplete guess but I wanted to throw something out there to see if I was on the right track so I wouldn't waste time.
Pointer Sisters - Fairytale
Don Mclean - Castles In The Air
The Beatles - ??
Does the theme have something to do with Princesses or Fairy tales?

Nope. Sorry, Kitty. Nothing to do with fairtytales, princesses or anything like that. Keep on trying though.

I know that Don McLean has "American Pie", and the Pointer Sisters have "American Music", but I can't recall any Beatles song with "American" in the title or lyrics

Ok I'm going to give this a try.
Is "Hand" the theme?
Slow Hand - The Pointer Sisters Just To Hold My Hand - Don McLean I Want To Hold Your Hand - The Beatles
Am I even close?

I know that Don McLean has "American Pie", and the Pointer Sisters have "American Music", but I can't recall any Beatles song with "American" in the title or lyrics I know Ed already said this was wrong, but in Honey Pie, Paul mentions "the U.S.A."

Good try, Ken, but that is not right either. BTW, don't forget about the Top 40 rule. I don't believe Just To Hold My Hand was in the Top 40. The important thing is I'm really happy to see you joining the game.

I don't think Honey Pie made the Top 40 either, Adam. Glad to see four people playing! A new clue (and a reduction to four points) is due in less than 60 Minutes. tick..tick...tick...tick....

OK gang. We're down to four points.
Since we are approaching the end of the game, I am not going to be quite as generous with my clues.
You only get one - and that is: Of all the songs guessed so far, by Kitty, Pete, Ken, and Adam, only one is the right song (but of course, the person used it for the wrong reason)
Go get 'em!

Well, the game continues. The round is down to 3 points (still enough for Pete to end it should he get the correct answer(s).
Some more clues:
Of the three songs, only one is a top 10 song. The other two are Bottom 20 songs (21-40).
So far only one song that has been mentioned is correct (but for the wrong reason) AND only one person has mentioned it.
Good luck!

Wow, I am totally stumped on this. I know I'm going to feel really stupid when the answer is revealed.
