The following artists have each recorded one or more songs that have something in common with the others when taken as a group. Can you identify the overall theme, and the songs that go with each artist? The artists are in no particular order. (Hint: with most if not all the songs, the connection is revealed in the titles.) Bob Dylan Simon & Garfunkel Kinks R.E.M. Creedence Clearwater Revival Jackson Browne Pink Floyd Moody Blues Weezer Elton John Jimi Hendrix Barbra Streisand Styx John Denver Allman Brothers Band Dion Monkees Bette Midler Beatles The Left Banke Gary Lewis & the Playboys Blood, Sweat & Tears Bee Gees Kenny Rogers America *Just added a few songs to the original post.

Well I don't know for all these, but for about 2/3 of them I' know that they did song titles mentioning "blue" or "green".
That's for:
Floyd S & G Beatles Monkees J Denver Styx CCR Dylan Gary Lewis Elton Bee Gees Kinks

Hmmm, this might be a little more elusive than I thought. Here are the albums that some of the songs come from (again, no particular order): Simon and Garfunkel: Sounds of Silence Pink Floyd: The Final Cut Moody Blues: Days of Future Passed Beatles: Revolver

OK. I think I may have it. Each artist has at least one song that represents a member of The Music Click
Going first with the four artists in which you disclosed the album:
Beatles - Dr. Robert -- Rob (Telestrings) Simon and Garfunkel -- Kathy's Song -- Kathyb (or KathyLovesKitties) Pink Floyd - Not Now John -- John (Triple J) Moody Blues - Dawn is a Feeling - Dawn
now trying to add others
REM - What's the Frequency Kenneth - Ken Jackson Browne - two possibilities: Rosie - Texas Rose Edwardsville Room 124. - Ed CCR - Proud Mary - Mary (Phoenix ) Barbra Streisand - Second Hand Rose - Texas Rose (which probably means the Jacksone Browne one is me)
Gary Lewis - Jill -- Isn't one of the MV group named Jill ?
I'll stop here - I REALLY need to get to bed.

Kinks - Victoria (Viki) I 'm having trouble with John Denver - We don't have an Annie on here I don't think. and certainly you don't mean..... "Rabbit" which is a John Denver song. Weezer (with a tip of the hat to my son) - Susanne (DaDoo) And going back to the Gary Lewis song "Jill" - That's Ace Gallagher. (I think better when I'm awake. ;D ) OK ... I'm stupid --- The John Denver song is "Joseph and Joe" for JPKansas (A|lthough I must admit I liked the Rabbit idea. ) Dylan - Last Thoughts on Woody Guthrie -- Woody (Dodger)

Bee Gees - Kitty Can (KittyKat) Left Banke - Walk Away Renee (PensFanRen) Looks like she did walk away. Haven't seen her back here in quite a while. Bette Midler - Camillia (Camille Noire) Styx - There are several, but we seem to have them all covered elsewhere: A Song for Suzanne, Dear John, Eddie (but I won't answer to that! ) There's Lorelei , but that seems like a bit of a push to Lora or Laura.

Great job so far! Ed has guessed the theme, and he and Pete have come up with some of the answers. So far we have: Bob Dylan - Thoughts on Woody Guthrie - Woody Simon & Garfunkel - Kathy's Song - Kathyb, KathyLoves, Kathy (Happygirl), and Kat Kinks - Victoria - Viki (ditzybrunette). There's another member that I was thinking of for another song by them as well. R.E.M. - What's the Frequency, Kenneth? - Ken Creedence Clearwater Revival - Proud Mary - Mary (Phoenixsong) and Mary (Shaunsmorninggirl) Jackson Browne - (I had a different member in mind for this song, but both Edward and Rose work as well) Pink Floyd - Not Now, John - John (Triple J) Moody Blues - Dawn is a Feeling - Dawn Weezer - Susanne (DaDooDaidy) Elton John - Where To Now, St. Peter? - Pete (could also be For Pete's Sake, by the Monkees) Jimi Hendrix - Hey Joe (for JP, although I think your answer is a better one, Ed) Barbra Streisand - (Like Jackson Browne, I was thinking of a different member, although Rose fits here too) Styx - Eddie (Ed, I had forgotten about Edwardsville Room 124 - that would have been a better choice for yours) John Denver - (As I mentioned above, Joseph and Joe works well, although I'd had another member in mind here. Not Rabbit, though! ;D ) Bette Midler - Camilla - Camille Noire (Kim). Another case where more than one song could apply. Beatles - Dr. Robert - Rob The Left Banke - Walk Away Renee - PensFanRen Gary Lewis & the Playboys - Jill - (Ace Gallagher) Bee Gees - Kitty Can - KittyKat Still need: Another Kinks song Another Jackson Browne song Another Barbra Streisand song Another John Denver song Another Bette Midler song Allman Brothers Band Dion Monkees Blood, Sweat & Tears Kenny Rogers America

I thought I'd go back to Dawn's Party Post and see if we can't clean up the missing answers. I won't repeat names of Clicksters that Dawn already mentioned even though I found a bunch more Marys and Roses and Joes and Johns. Some of these are a bit of a stretch .... Jackson Browne - Song For Adam (I just didn't look far enough before) John Denver - San Antonio Rose (Texas Rose). I think Dawn had not chosen any of the other Roses that we had guessed, and this one seems much more appropriate especially given the location of San Antonio Bette Midler - Vickie and Mr. Valve or Vickie Eydie (for Viki) if the Kinks song was incorrect -- I'm not finding anything else. Allman Brothers - Melissa (Liss) -- a bit of a stretch seeing she only has 6 posts and they were all on one day last February - but I found nothing else that fit. Dion - Behind Susan's Eyes (Missnia) again a bit of a stretch with only 3 posts, but she IS Rob's wife. and/or Katie Mae - (Kaite) again a bit of a stretch - I don't even know if that's her name. Monkees - Admiral Mike (MC) BS&T - Katie Bell (again, Kaite ? ), or Lisa, Listen To Me (Lisa) - more likely I think. Kenny Rogers - Laura (What's He Got That I Ain't Got) (Laura) - I didn't know Kenny covered this song. I only know the Frankie Laine version. America - Amber Cascades (Amberosia) ---- which leaves one artist: The Kinks - Dawn said there was another song other than Victoria. ... Well most of the "active" Clicksters are accounted for. As far as the people posting over 1000 posts, the only people missing are Tracy (Beatles4), Railyn, and Lora. Well ,, this may be a REAL stretch. But take the Kink's classic "Lola". Now go to Lora's profile, and look at her email address. ... ... but I wonder if I've missed references to Railyn and Tracy and maybe Logan, Rali .....

I couldn't find a song with Lora in the title, but I remembered that she once mentioned here that her nickname was Lola, so I went with that. For the others: Jackson Browne - Song for Adam John Denver - Ed, this is another case where your guess was a much better choice than the song I came up with, as that would have been a perfect one for Rose. The song from him I was thinking of is Matthew, for Jughead. Bette Midler - This is the one I originally had in mind for Rose. Allman Brothers - Melissa Dion - I had forgotten Dion had done a song with that title, but it would definitely fit for Susan, and is one of those cases where more than one song could apply. The song I originally had in mind here was Sandy, for Smittykins. Monkees - Admiral Mike Kenny Rogers - I can't believe I didn't remember that one for Laura - my parents used to play the album it was on all the time! What I had in mind for Laura was Barbra Streisand's The Eyes of Laura Mars, but again, I think your choice fits better. The Kenny connection I was thinking of may have been a little elusive, as I'm not sure how many people here know Rali's real name, but I had been thinking of Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town for her. America - Amber Cascades The only Tracy song I could think of was the Cuff Links one, and since they're only known for one or two songs, I was afraid it might give the theme away too quickly. I looked on several sites, but couldn't find a song with Railyn in the title.

John Denver - Ed, this is another case where your guess was a much better choice than the song I came up with, as that would have been a perfect one for Rose. I looked on several sites, but couldn't find a song with Railyn in the title. John Denver - Right! I always call him "Juggie" and skipped right over Matthew. Dion - Again, I should have thought of Sandy. But I always call her Smitty. I actually thought that maybe Sandy could be the song, but I was thinking of Shandra (#9) - didn't know if anybody called her Sandy. Kenny Rogers - Never knew Rali's real name. (I thought it was QOD for Queen of Doowop ) Tracy - I thought that might have been the reason you didn't use the Cuff Links song. Railyn - I'm sure it won't be long and Weird Al will write one. ;D How about the BS&T song. You skipped that.
