After one false start, (where I had the thing all ready to go and then accidentally erased the whole thing), we’re ready with round 2 of the Click SUPER Song Linking Game To review the rules: Your goal is to compile a list of 10 songs and their artists. The last word of the title of Song #1 is the same word as the first word of the title of song #2, just like in the Song Linking Game. ... and the last word of song #2 is the first word of song #3, etc. I will give you the FIRST word of the title of song #1 and the LAST word of the title of song #10. I will also give you a bunch of clues about the songs and/or their artists to help you to build your list. The idea is for all you Clicksters to work TOGETHER to fill out the list. So do your thinking “out loud” within the thread so everyone can see it. From time to time I’ll add other clues. And if you’re REALLY having a hard time, I may periodically reveal a first and/or last word somewhere in the list. And all ten songs are bona fide TOP 40 hits from the Billboard “Hot 100” pop charts. (just like in Name That Theme). Songs will have been on the charts from anywhere starting in 1955 and ending in 1989. Sorry guys. No 90s or 00s. Let me add one clue that didn’t come into play last time. The words “The” “A” and “An” at the beginning of a title do NOT count. Also, remember. It's OK to start at the top and work down, but it's not a requirement. Some websites that might come in handy are: www.allmusic.com and www.gramble.com/music/top40.html So ... Here’s Game 2: Song 1. First word is Let: Unknown Song 2. Unknown Song 3: Unknown Song 4 Unknown Song 5. Unknown Song 6: Unknown Song 7 Unknown Song 8. Unknown Song 9: Unknown Song 10. Unknown Last word is: BellHere are some clues: There are 4 male soloists There is one female soloist There are 4 groups/bands There is one Duo Of the four male soloists, three achieved greater recognition in a group/band or groups/bands. The fourth male soloist achieved a lot of recognition also as part of a duo. His partner in the duo also had a top 20 hit song. Of the four groups/bands: One could be found in a prison One is essentially a two-hit wonder whose other hit was later covered by a soloist who also achieved fame as a member of a group/band One is from Down-under One is named after a slang term for a music media form The song by the duo was later covered by ANOTHER duo As for the female vocalist: Two different female vocalists have songs that are acceptable for this answer. – Two totally different songs with totally different titles – except for the first and last words. If you did not play game 1, you might want to review that thread to see how it works. Good Luck!!

For the last song, I'm thinking it could be either Melanie's Ring the Living Bell or Anita Ward's Ring My Bell. Am I on the right track?

Good try, Pete, but no. That's not it. Next clue: #1 is sung by a male soloist.

I'd been thinking maybe it was Let It Be by the Beatles, but that doesn't fit the male soloist criteria. Hmmm...how about Let Her In by John Travolta?

Hmmm...how about Let Her In by John Travolta? How about "Let My Love Open the Door" by Pete Townshend? That would go w/the clue about achieving recognition as part of a band.

The only top 40 hit beginning with "Door" is "The Door Is Still Open To My Heart" by Dean Martin (and no, I've never heard it)
Then "Heart Full Of Soul" by The Yardbirds (breaking rocks on the chain gang)
"Soul Man" By Sam & Dave (later The Blues Brothers)
"Man On Your Mind" by Little River Band (from a land down under)
"Mind Games" by John Lennon (a Beatle)
And
"Game Of Love" by Wayne Fontana & The Mindbenders (later covered by Phil Collins in an EXTREMELY boring cover!)

The only top 40 hit beginning with "Door" is "The Door Is Still Open To My Heart" by Dean Martin (and no, I've never heard it) Which proves you don't have to know the songs to play the game. ;D Dean is of course the male soloist who was part of a duo (Martin and Lewis) whose partner (Jerry Lewis - Not Jerry LEE Lewis - Jerry Lewis, the telethon guy) had a hit callec "Rock A Bye Your Baby With a Dixie Melody" back in '56. And you got Heart full of Soul By the Group that's a slang word for prisoner - Yardbirds and also Soul Man by Sam and Dave and later the Blues Brothers so ... Song 1. First word is Let My Love Open The Door Peter Townshend Song 2. DoorIs Still Open To My Heart Dean Martin Song 3: Heart Full of Soul Yardbirds Song 4 Soul Man - Sam and Dave (or the Blues Brothers) Song 5. Man Unknown Song 6: Unknown Song 7 Unknown LoveSong 8. Love The One You're With Stephen Stills Song 9: With This Ring The Platters Song 10. Ring The Living Bell -Melanie OR Ring My Bell - Anita Ward Clues for remaining Songs: There is 1 male soloists There are 2 groups/bands The male soloist, achieved greater recognition in a group/band. Of the two groups/bands: One is essentially a two-hit wonder whose other hit was later covered by a soloist who also achieved fame as a member of a group/band One is from Down-under And don't forget, "The" "A" or "An" at the beginning of the title doesn't count.
