It went something like this: It was said that when people heard the siren sound effect used in the song , it caused them the pull over thinking they were being followed by the Police. correct?

(SOUND FX: game-show bell) DINGDINGDINGDING! That song reminds me of a guy I used to work with who got stuck taking several day and overnight trips to Mishawaka, Indiana (a real hole!). One time he comes back and says to me, "I finally figured out that song. LORD I can't go back THERE!"

One time he comes back and says to me, "I finally figured out that song. LORD I can't go back THERE!" Taylor had a minor hit afterwards with "Shadow", a song about a 30-something guy in love with a 14 year-old girl...I remember the first time I heard it, on CKLW, back in '73. After it played, there was silence for about 15 seconds, then the dj said, "WHEW! No WONDER Indiana wants him!"

It was said that when people heard the siren sound effect used in the song , it caused them the pull over thinking they were being followed by the Police. *grin* I was rather taken aback the first time I heard Traffic's "Shootout at the Fantasy Factory" in my car! I didn't pull over, though--I figured out the siren was part of the song. But it did freak me out at first! (I had heard the song before I got it on CD, but I'd forgotten it had a siren sound in it.)
