OK ... people are coming up with some good themes, but alas, not the right one yet. So, we drop to a four point maximum and here are some clues.
1. With one of the artists, there are several songs that would work, but not in the title (except on a bit of a stretch)
2. People (more than one) have come up with more than one correct song from the artist for whom several songs work. People (more than one have also come up with the correct song for one of the other two artists. But no one has come up with the correct song for the third artist.
3. Pay close attention to the fact that two people - Pete and Juggie - both had answers that were on the right track. But since their answers are quite different, you have to look at the combination.
OK guys, here's the deal. I have to leave work right now, go home and pick up Nancy, and drive to Pennsylvania. Her uncle passed away last night and the funeral is tomorrow.
I will have a laptop with me, but will be on line only occasionally - and maybe not at all until tomorrow night. We're coming back home on Sunday.
So -- no more clues until Monday (no more point decreases also.) Keep on guessing - first correct answer wins. I'll be on somewhat to check in.

Please tell her that I'll be thinking of her, and I wish you both a safe trip to PA.

It was cold and rainy. It still is today. I should be on line off and on today. I'll also be doing some work so I don't have to take as much personal leave for half of thursday and all friday. So you guys should still be trying to figure out the theme. You are pretty colse at this pont.

Here is my guess:
Beach Boys - Surfin' USA Johnny Rivers - Mountain of Love Lovin' Spoonful - Summer in the City
Theme - Places you might go on a Summer vacation (Ocean, Mountains, to a City other than the one you live in)

Here is my guess: Beach Boys - Surfin' USA Johnny Rivers - Mountain of Love Lovin' Spoonful - Summer in the City Theme - Places you might go on a Summer vacation (Ocean, Mountains, to a City other than the one you live in) --- and that would be correct, Woody! I kinda thought with the "Summer" and "Places" themes guessed earlier, that this theme was about ready to get solved. So, Pete gets a point, Juggie gets a point, and Woody picks up the other three. Also glad to see Dave joining the game. So, the current score: 55dodger 25 Pete 70s 6 Dawn 5 Jughead 5 Ken 1 Laura 0 Gremashlo 0 Dave910 0 Everybody else DNP Since the east coast time stamp for Woody's answer was 11:54 PM last night, the next game will start later today!

I just realized that the time stamp for the Click has not reset for daylight savings time. Thus, Woody's 11:54 PM time stamp is actually 12:54 AM Monday. Therefore, the next game will start Tuesday.

I thought of cities in TN ("Memphis", "Nashville Cats") but couldn't think of one for the Beach Boys. That's the only reason I didn't participate.

Well, it turns out that "cities" wasn't the theme anyway, Laura. But if you check out the lyrics for "Surfin' USA" you'll find a whole bunch of cities mentioned.
