Perhaps I should put this post on the opinions board, but to me, anything about Michael Jackson is newsworthy.
What's your opinon of the man?
Here's my take. You can't call yourself "the king of pop" and then complain when the press watches what you do. I like his music, and I will always admire his talent. Part of me feels sorry for him. It's sad that he hasn't had a childhood. I think his disfunctional family and fame has twisted him.
The things that bothered me and that he only admited to two plastic surgeries. I have a hard time believing that. Also, when Martin Brashir confronted him about his eccentric behavior and he really could not understand why people are questioning it. It's sad, I think he's going through a bad phase in his life right now. And maybe he should get some help, if not his sake, for the sake of his kids.

Michael has - or had - some definite music talent. A couple of his songs are among my all time favorites. BUT -- all that is irrelevant. There appears to be quite a bit of evidence that he is a child molester. He belongs in jail. End of story.

Were it not for the damning evidence against him, I would try to feel some compassion for Michael Jackson...but frankly I agree with H2, MJ needs to serve retribution for his crimes.
He's clearly three apples short of a pie and needs extensive and intensive therapy. The abuse he suffered in childhood has (messed) him up and caused him to develop both a Peter Pan complex and a pathological addiction to plastic surgery (so as not to bear any physical resemblance to his father, Joe Jackson). I have other theories that are too controversial and will keep to myself.
The saddest thing is, he seems to have no clue that his behavior is unusual...he is completely and totally out of touch with reality as the average, non-famous person understands it.

I do feel some empathy toward him, but must agree w/you, Boogieman and H2, that the man is in serious need of psychological help. I had pretty much turned a blind eye toward everything related to him when the child molestation thing hit the fan, but I watched the Martin Bashir interview to give him the benefit of the doubt. I was floored to hear him talk about stealing one of his babies from the delivery room, fearful that the doctors were paparazzi. That he made their mothers sign all rights away. That he makes them wear masks - fearful that people will snatch them if they know what they look like, yet he parades them in public in masks..... He locks himself in hotel rooms with life size statues, which "talk to him". The thing that got me the most was that he hasn't learned a thing. He went around with those boys at his house, who sleep with him. He kept going on about how it's such a beautiful thing, and so innocent. My stomach began to churn. And yet people are so blindly devoted. My mother-in-law, a victm of child molestation herself, will blindly defend him. She believes the whole vitalago story (I prob spelled that wrong). She also looked me straight in the face and said "well maybe he doesn't have any other place for the kids to sleep". In that big mansion? Maybe on the planet OhYeahSure......

[glow=red,2,300]I definitely think he has more than one psychological disorder, the main one being Body Dysmorphic Disorder (when you are convinced you are ugly and have an excess of plastic surgeries basically), pedophilia, and maybe a delusional disorder. I think the thing about him that bugged me the worst was that story the kid told about his bedroom having an alarm on it that goes off if anyone tries to escape the room. He does have talent, but--like all of you guys--I feel that is irrelevant. He needs to be committed.[/glow]

It really floored me when he only admitted to having two sugeries. I thought he was going to "come clean" about all his surgeries. The whole interview bugged me with how clueless he was acting. The man needs help.

I agree with Camille. Its time for him to stop making excuses, and get some help. He has the talent but is wasting it away

I think you pretty much said it for me.I will always love a lot of his music but have some grave doubts about his state of mental health.
