If the name doesn't ring a bell, Sam Phillips was the founder of Sun Records who helped launch the career of a young singer named Elvis Presley as well as Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and B.B. King. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1986.
