WOO HOO!!!!!
Martina wins the Female Vocalist of the Year again!!
It is her 3rd in a row, 4th overall! (First one was in 99.)
She is now tied with Reba for the most of any female! And Martina has more of a career ahead of her than Reba!
She was up against some great competition, including Reba, Sara Evans, Alison Krauss, and Terri Clark. I was nervous because she has won so much, I thought they'd give it to someone else to spice it up, but I honestly like all those ladies.
Congrats Martina!!!!!!!!!!

Well congrats to Martina. Some really tough competion this year. Reba always sounds great and always has a chance to win. I saw Terri Clarke in concert this summer & she also has a great voice. I don't know enough about Sara Evans to say anything. I do really like Allison Krauss and her music. Would have been nice to see her win. Maybe next year.

I'm ok with Martina winning the award, she certainly deserves the award. But, (and you knew there was a but coming), if I had the only vote, it would have gone to Allison Krauss. |

It's so weird, I like ALL those ladies, but I would have picked Alison last ONLY because she didn't do much this year. Her Live album was huge, but it was last year. Reba had a big comeback with a number 1 hit, and Sara and Teri both had number 1's. Sara's current album is great! And me saying all this is no slight on Alison-after Martina and Sara, I like her the best of the 5! |

And me saying all this is no slight on Alison-after Martina and Sara, I like her the best of the 5! I'm probably not the best to judge for anything about country music (not really a big fan). But except for what I've seen on TV or reviews I've read on this board, I probably never would have bought a Martina McBride or Allison Krauss CD. Got at least one by both. I plan on looking into Allison Krauss more as (and don't hate me for this) I like Allison better than Martina. |

Reba has been around since the 80's. Reba has peaked. Does that mean she will have NO more hits-no, not at all. Her last single went to number 1. But the Stones peaked in the early 70's and were still cranking out songs years later. But yes, I do think at this point Martina is a bit more popular. |
