The one is the Bon Jovi 5 disc (did I just say FIVE??) set. It's the cover that will get you, and the title. The title-"100,000,000 Fans Can't Be Wrong". The cover is a spoof of the Elvis cover, with the 4 band members in gold lame suits. They may (or may not) think of it as a tribute, but note that the number is higher than Elvis'. And the cover looks so stupid and just like a ripoff. Oh, and the other box set is Michael Jackson's. Don't know yet if it includes exclusive sleep over photos....... Also check out my new releases post.

Five discs may be more than I want to spend on Bon Jovi. Love the music, just don't think I need something that complete.
I don't think I need anymore MJ music in my collection.

There is also a new Nirvana boxed set out, one fans have been being promised for years. I believe it has four discs and one DVD, but I don't know many details. I just know my best friend will probably have to file bankruptcy after buying it.

I wonder if a Michael Jackson box set is a practical move by the record company at this point. After all, his last album tanked, he put out two greatest hits collections in the past ten years (neither of which reached sales expectations), his older albums have been remastered and re-released. With all that's happened to him over the past few years, I don't see long lines at the record stores to buy the thing.
The only thing that would make it interesting would be if it covered his Motown career as well. But then, they would have to include Jackson 5/Jacksons material, too.
Bon Jovi-I can think of a dozen or so bands from the same era that deserve 5-disc box sets (Def Leppard, Van Halen, AC/DC-The Brian Johnson years) before Bon Jovi does. Then again, I downloaded and burned a single CD of all the Bon Jovi I need. One-hundred million, did I read that right?
Nirvana will probably do well, as much as I despise them, I can't deny their impact.#nosmileys

I saw the Bon Jovi box set at Target the other day. Yeah it does look stupid. 100,000,000 fans, eh? I wasn't one of them.

I have the Bon Jovi box set and believe it or not, it has some very good stuff in it. It's actually a 4-cd set and a DVD. It's a collection of tracks that did not make any of their previous albums and I must admit I wonder why some of these songs didn't make it. My personal favorite is "Rich Man Living in a Poor Man's House". There's also another version of "Livin' On A Prayer" in the set that's not mentioned on the list. If you like lost music like I do, this set was actually a gold mine in my opinion.
