The other day I put a bunch of my recent favorite 60's hits and obscurities (mostly obscurities) on a CD, and I REALLY did a great job, because I haven't been able to stop listening to it! By "recent favorites" I mean mostly songs that were new to me within the past couple of years.. I used one of those new colored CDR's, and it's red (aesthetics are important!). This is the type of music I love to listen to when I'm going to sleep, or when I want to relax and feel good!
Many of you will probably not know a lot of these, but I'm sure Dave and H2 will know most of them, and Dawn and Ken may know a few as well....
-Association-Goodbye Columbus
-Bobby Goldsboro-It's Too Late
-The Tokens-Portrait Of My Love
-Nino Tempo & April Stevens-All strung Out
-Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazelwood-Ladybird
-The Clique-I'll Hold Out My Hand
-Glen Campbell-Guess I'm Dumb
-The Reivers-Constantly (On "White Whale" collection)
-Beau Brummels-You Tell Me Why
-Lyme & Cybelle-Follow Me (Warren Zevon's first hit)
-Everly Brothers-Gone Gone Gone
-Rockin' Ramrods-Bright Lit Blue Skies (Boston group)
-Sharon Marie-Thinkin' Bout You Baby (Brian Wilson production, early version of "Darlin'")
-Glenn Yarbrough-Baby The Rain Must Fall
-Feather-Friends (also On "White Whale" collection)
-Glen Campbell-True Grit
-Gale Garnett-We'll Sing In The Sunshine
-Mary Hopkin-Goodbye
-Sandy Posey-Single Girl
-Kenny O'Dell-Beautiful People
-Raymond Lefevre-Ame Caline (Soul Coaxing) (My favorite instrumental of all time!)
-Glen Campbell-Dreams Of The Everyday Housewife
-Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazelwood-Summer Wine
-Tony Orlando & Dawn-Summer Sand (Early 70's, but I included it anyway)
-Marianne Faithful-Summer Nights
-Mary Hopkin-Temma Harbour
-The Intrigues-In A Moment
-Darrell Banks-Open The Door To Your Heart
-Tower Of Power-So Very Hard To Go (Much later than most of these tracks, but to me it SOUNDS late 60's)
Any comments on these songs?
