6500 - I'm Stone in Love With You I'm with H2 - this isn't the Stylistics' best, but still nicely done. 6499 - Feelings I'm probably one of the very few people who likes this. A favorite from childhood days. 6498 - Church of the Poison Mind One of my favorites by them. I'm not big on that background singing either, though. 6497 - You Make Me Feel Brand New My favorite of theirs. Absolutely beautiful - love the key change. 6496 - Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe Good one from Barry - a little different in style from most of his hits. 6495 - Be Near Me Not bad, but not my favorite by them. 6494 - My Boy Flat Top Don't know it. 6493 - Oh Girl Nicely done, but it's been overplayed on the oldies stations here. 6492 - Separate Lives I didn't like this much back in the day. It's grown on me a little since then. 6491 - Baby, Come to Me This one brings back a lot of memories of high school. I like it. 6490 - (If Loving You is Wrong) I Don't Want to Be Right Good, but I prefer Barbara Mandrell's version. 6489 - Hey There Lonely Girl Pretty good one from Eddie. He can definitely hit the high notes! 6488 - Have You Seen Her I like the vocals on this one. Very smooth R & B ballad. 6487 - Release Me (And Let Me Love Again) It's okay, although not one of his best. 6486 - Looking for Clues I can't quite place this one. 6485 - Me and Mrs. Jones Wonderful 70's soul. I've grown to like this more and more over the years. 6484 - On Broadway Superb guitar work from George on this one. I like his interpretation of it. 6483 - Holy Mother Not among my favorite Clapton songs. 6482 - Gold Loved this in high school, and still do. I rarely hear it these days, though. 6481 - Tema Dei Monkees I've never heard this version, but it sounds like it would be a fun song. You're really alone here on Feelings! LOL!

6500. OK, but they did better. Never could figure out that "Stone" business anyway. 6499. 6498. Not one of my favorites by them. 6497. Liked this one. Back in the day, I was famous for mishearing "when I was insecure" as "when I was in Syracuse." (Hey, I lived there at the time and I was eight years old--made sense to me! ) 6496. OK, I guess--all of his songs pretty much sound alike to me. 6495. Vaguely remember it. 6494. Don't know it-- way before my time. 6493. OK, but way overplayed. 6492. So-so--could do without it. 6491. Not bad. 6490. Oh, boy...I'll spare you the rant this time. To read my true feelings about this song, just check out any installment of "Today In Billboard Chart History" which includes it... 6489. How does this guy hit those high notes? OK though. 6488. Way overplayed. 6487. See 6499. 6486. Don't know it. 6485. Similar objections as 6490, and overplayed to boot. 6484. Actually like this one better than the original. 6483. Don't know it. 6482. Ditto(John Stewart's "Gold" pops into my head.) 6481. Don't know this version, but LOVE the English version! Oh, this version of Gold isn't on the same PLANET as John Stewart's!! LOL!

6500. I'm Stone in Love With You-Stylistics 1972 Don't know it 6499. Feelings-Morris Albert 1975 Excuse me......HURRRLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!! 6498. Church of the Poison Mind-Culture Club 1983 LOVE IT!!!! 6497. You Make Me Feel Brand New-Stylistics 1974 No thanks. 6496. Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe-Barry White 1974 I'll pass again.... 6495. Be Near Me-ABC 1985 LOVE IT!!!!! (tho How To Be A Millionaire is my fav) 6494. My Boy Flat Top Boyd Bennett & His Rockets 1955 Not Familiar. 6493. Oh Girl!-Chi-Lites 1972 Prefer Paul Young's version 6492. Separate Lives-Phil Collins and Marilyn Martin 1985 Um...EW 6491. Baby, Come to Me-Patti Austin with James Ingram 1982/83 My cousin loved this one - played the 45 over and over and over and over...... 6490. (If Loving You is Wrong) I Don't Want to Be Right-Luther Ingram 1972 I don't wanna listen to this song.....ever again 6489. Hey There Lonely Girl-Eddie Holman 1969/70 No thanks. 6488. Have You Seen Her-Chi-Lites 1971 "Dr. Dre, Ed Lover, Fab 5 Freddie, won't you help a young brother?" - that's the only part I remember. I do like the original 6487. Release Me (And Let Me Love Again)-Englebert Humperdinck 1967 Ew. 6486. Looking For Clues-Robert Palmer 1980 I liked this one.....I'm gonna miss Robert. 6485. Me and Mrs. Jones-Billy Paul 1972 We got a thing.......goin on - he needs to quit runnin' with married women - maybe his songs would get better. 6484. On Broadway-George Benson 1978 I prefer this version. Loved the movie that it served as theme to (All That Jazz). "IT'S SHOWTIME FOLKS!". Bob Fosse was a genius. 6483. Holy Mother-Eric Clapton 1987 I'm not into Clapton. He's not god to me. 6482. Gold-Spandau Ballet 1983 Why do you call my some of my favorite bands gay? I LOVE this song, so I'm gonna torture you: "Love is like a high prison wall, you can leave me standing so taaaaaaaaallllllllllll. GOLD. Always believe in your soul, you've got the power to know you're indestructibbbbllllleeeeee - always beeelieeeeveeeee, GOLD!" 6481. Tema Dei Monkees-Monkees 1966/82 Do you know why they did this? Because in Italy, it's a law (or at least was) that tv theme songs must be in native language. What kills me is the sloppy editing and if you listen, he's just singing the same verse over and over. You just must like gay artists! KIDDING!! LOL!! Hey, in all honesty, True is more "gay" sounding than Gold, and I actually like True, so pay no attention to me! Remember THAT video? The way he danced and held the microphone? *SHIVER* I remember that in the liner notes about Italian law and the sloppy edit.

Separate Lives-Phil Collins and Marilyn Martin 1985 It's not one of the best Phil Collins songs I have heard, but it is not bad I guess. 6491. Baby, Come to Me-Patti Austin with James Ingram 1982/83 This song used to be played a lot on the light rock station we used to have here and I don't like it that much. 6490. (If Loving You is Wrong) I Don't Want to Be Right-Luther Ingram 1972 I don't really care for this song very much. It's just not my thing. 6489. Hey There Lonely Girl-Eddie Holman 1969/70 This is a "change the channel" song. A real migrane inducer. 6488. Have You Seen Her-Chi-Lites 1971 I don't really like this song and I can't imagine Hammer's rendition. 6487. Stoned in Love With You - I happen to like the Stylistics and this song. Feelings - If Don't Worry be Happy is the worse song ever recorded, this may be a close second. Church of a Poison Mind - No thanks You Make Me Feel Brand New - Another good song. Can't Get Enough of Your Love Baby - Not his best but a good song. Be Near Me - ? My Boy Flat Top - ? Oh Girl - As with the Stylistics, I like the Chi-Lites as well. This may be my favorite by them. Separate Lives - Don't remember this one. Baby Come Back to Me - ? I Don't Want to Be Right - No thanks Hey There Lonely Girl - Remember this growing up. It was ok. Have You Seen Her - Another good one. Release Me - Probably the only song he did that's worth listening to. Looking for Clues - Probably heard it, just don't remember it. Me & Mrs. Jones - Ok, nothing special. On Broadway - I like George Benson, this song was probably three or four minutes too long. Holy Mother - Can't like all the songs, even if it's your favorite artists. Oops posted by mistake before I was finished. Gold - ? Temma Dei Monkees - ? Clapton-yeah, that's what hurts. The more songs you know by an artist, the more of a chance you have of hearing a few clunkers.

Here we go... I'm Stone In Love With You--I always liked this song. Feelings--The only feeling I have for this one is hatred. Church of the Poison Mind--Culture Club had better songs. You Make Me Feel Brand New--Like this one, too. Can't Get Enough of Your Love Babe--I had quite enough of this song back in the day. Be Near Me--Pretty good one. Haven't heard it in a long time. My Boy Flat Top--Never heard of it. Oh Girl--Not bad. Separate Lives--Terrible. Baby Come to Me--This song helped me win a trip to Vegas several years ago. So I guess I have to like it. ;D If Loving You is Wrong--No thanks. Hey There Lonely Girl--The high voice is just a little too much. Have You Seen Her--Like this one better than Oh Girl. Release Me--My mom played this quite a bit back in the day, so it kinda grew on me. But it's not something I'd seek out to listen to. Looking for Clues--Love the song, love the video. Me and Mrs. Jones--Ick. On Broadway--It's ok. Holy Mother--Don't know it. Gold--Don't know it. Tema Dei Monkees--See last two comments. It grew on you.....like a wart?

6487. I've never heard a single Englebert Humperdink song. Don't want to. Wow, is that name weird. Actually, his real name is Arnold Dorsey. He took the name Englebert Humperdinck from the German composer (1854-1921) whose most famous piece was the opera "Hansel and Gretel".

6490. You are remembering the Very Brady Sequel when Marcia and Greg come together for a kiss! LOL! Well, that too. But I remember them doing something like that on the show once or twice...not with people embracing for a kiss though.

I'm totally dumb, I kept waiting for the insane list to show up on the Opinion threads, I didn't even think to look here. DUH! 6500. I'm Stone in Love With You-Stylistics 1972 There are other songs from them that I like better. 6499. Feelings-Morris Albert 1975 NO! I can't say anything more. Where is Albert these days anyway? 6498. Church of the Poison Mind-Culture Club 1983 I don't mind this one actually, but there are definitely songs from them that I like better. 6497. You Make Me Feel Brand New-Stylistics 1974 I like this one less than "I'm Stone...". 6496. Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe-Barry White 1974 A great song IMO, but I think I complained to you last time that I thought you should list it higher so I'll shut up about it. 6495. Be Near Me-ABC 1985 I like this song. I was a big fan of this group. 6494. My Boy Flat Top Boyd Bennett & His Rockets 1955 Not familiar with the title. 6493. Oh Girl!-Chi-Lites 1972 A great tune, but I actually like Paul Young's version better. 6492. Separate Lives-Phil Collins and Marilyn Martin 1985 Oh Adam, we're just not on the same page today. I LOVE THIS SONG. 6491. Baby, Come to Me-Patti Austin with James Ingram 1982/83 Something you hear on a [glow=red,2,300]GOOD[/glow] lite station. I'm a sucker for all of the Austin/Ingram duets, especially "How Can You Keep The Music Playing". 6490. (If Loving You is Wrong) I Don't Want to Be Right-Luther Ingram 1972 Love the title, not the song. 6489. Hey There Lonely Girl-Eddie Holman 1969/70 Next... 6488. Have You Seen Her-Chi-Lites 1971 A great oldie. I always think of this really funny Sinbad comedy routine where he talks about how groups like the Chi-Lites had such amusing chereography. Very funny bit. 6487. Release Me (And Let Me Love Again)-Englebert Humperdinck 1967 Syrup schlock is right. It shouldn't be this high on your list and definitely not after Barry White! 6486. Looking For Clues-Robert Palmer 1980 Funny, I didn't remember the video until you mentioned it. I like this song okay, but he definitely had better. 6485. Me and Mrs. Jones-Billy Paul 1972 Another one we disagree on. I love it. 6484. On Broadway-George Benson 1978 A great cover IMO and I love the bass/guitar opening. Definitely overplayed though. 6483. Holy Mother-Eric Clapton 1987 Not familiar with this track at all. 6482. Gold-Spandau Ballet 1983 I have to agree about it sounding like a Broadway number, but I still love it. BTW - Surprisingly, all but one member of the band were straight. 6481. Tema Dei Monkees-Monkees 1966/82 You know how unfamiliar I am with their stuff besides the hits. I don't know this one.

Some real GREAT ones I like--to each their own.
6500. Big fan of the Stylistics--one of their best. 6499. It's not real bad actually. 6498. Does this JIVE! Much better than later hit "Mistake #3". 6497. Absolutely astonishing. Simple as that. 6496. Another of 1974's best. 6495. Could not see the point--this was EASILY my least fave of their 5 top 40 hits. 6494. I actually like it! 6493. Just wonderful. Have you ever seen such a helpless man? 6492. This is one of my lesser faves of Phil's, and Marilyn's "Night Moves" was a GAZILLION notches better. 6491. Man do I LOVE this more and more each year. Super production from Quincy Jones. 6490. Quite nice--typical to that slow 70's soul sound. 6489. This is simply wonderful. Robert John's remake was great, too. 6488. One of the 70's best soul records. Hammer's remake has definitely not grown on me--and I liked all his other hits! 6487. I think my dad still likes this more than I do. Gimme Esther Phillips' original Please... 6486. Great new-wavish stuff! RIP. 6485. Slow 70's grooves--I think there's a theme here! 6484. I'm becoming quite a BIG "Bad" Benson fan! No exception on this! The Drifters' original just doesn't have as much spirit. 6483. I may have heard this. 6482. Cool tune! 6481. Should look into this.
More comments tonight...

6500. I'm Stone in Love With You-Stylistics 1972 Well, I like it! ;D (My kids, however, seem to share your p.o.v. here LOL!) 499. Feelings-Morris Albert 1975 Ya, it is pretty sappy, isn't it? 6498. Church of the Poison Mind-Culture Club 1983 Never heard it. Don't feel I've missed anything. 6497. You Make Me Feel Brand New-Stylistics 1974 Same as their other song (See above) 6496. Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe-Barry White I don't really care for this song either 6495.Be Near Me-ABC 1985 Don't know the group, don't know the song 6494. My Boy Flat Top Boyd Bennett & His Rockets 1955 Amazingly, I have never heard this song 6493. Oh Girl!-Chi-Lites 1972 Ok, I like this style but when it comes to this song a little seems to go a long way for me 6492. Separate Lives-Phil Collins and Marilyn Martin 1985 Never heard this song either 6491. Baby, Come to Me-Patti Austin with James Ingram 1982/83 I think their voices blend well on this song, therefore I LIKE it. ;D 6490. (If Loving You is Wrong) I Don't Want to Be Right-Luther Ingram 1972 Assuming this is the Barbra Mandrell song, I only know her version. Don't like it. 6489. Hey There Lonely Girl-Eddie Holman 1969/70 Hey! We were quite impressed that he could still reach those notes when he appeared on a PBS special a couple of/few years ago. ;D 6488. Have You Seen Her-Chi-Lites 1971 I LOVE the background to this song: Great for singing along! 6487. Release Me (And Let Me Love Again)-Englebert Humperdinck 1967 >>How did this get on the radio in 1967?<< Easy! In those days the stations played ALL styles and therefore you could hear this followed by "White Room" followed by Sgt Pepper followed by *insert bubblegum pop song here* and all on the same station! I, for one, miss those days. In any case, this IS the most annoying of his songs, imo 6486. Looking For Clues-Robert Palmer 1980 Never heard the song (Or saw the video) 6485. Me and Mrs. Jones-Billy Paul 1972 Well, I don't like this song for the same reason I don't like "If Lovin' You Is Wrong". Some things ARE just wrong, and I just don't like songs about 'em either. (Plus the song, I think, would annoy me either way) 6484. On Broadway-George Benson 1978 I haven't heard this and years and I would LOVE to hear it again! (Oddly enough when it was out, it used to annoy me at first) 6483. Holy Mother-Eric Clapton 1987 Never heard (Of) it 6482. Gold-Spandau Ballet 1983 See immediately above 6481. Tema Dei Monkees-Monkees 1966/82 >>Same thing as with Clapton. << Ditto on my remarks
