Part 2 of the INSANE list. I'll be playing catch up on the upper part of these charts for awhile, but these lower reaches aren't really affected that much. 6480. You Belong to the City-Glen Frey 1985 He was never my favorite Eagle, and when he went solo, he got REAL boring. 6479. You're the First, the Last, My Everything-Barry White 1974/75 Again, I know he is a legend of soul, but his voice just does nothing for me. My dad had this on his juke box. 6478. Bridge Over Troubled Water-Simon & Garfunkel 1970 Ok, all apologies, I just never dug their stuff all that much, and this one is just a snoozer to me. It just does nothing for me. 6477. Darkness on the Edge of Town-Bruce Springsteen 1978 I'm not a diehard Boss fan, otherwise I'd probably love this one. I liked his later stuff better. 6476. Family Man-Fleetwood Mac 1988 I was disappointed by this one. Stevie & Christine's singles from this album were so good, even after 5 years apart. I don't understand why Lindsay made his voice so "electronic" sounding on it. 6475. Lies-Thompson Twins 1983 This got lots of MTV play back then, and it annoyed me, with their faces coming at you on the screen. Like Hold Me Now MUCH better. 6474. Let Her in-John Travolta 1976 How did he get a record deal so quickly. A far cry from the Grease stuff I'd say. 6473. The War Song-Culture Club 1984 "War war is stupid, and people are stupid...." And THIS SONG is stupid.... I didn't like them to begin with, and this song wasn't helping matters any. 6472. Always & Forever-Heatwave 1978 Soul ballad, I think my dad and ex-stepmother both liked this a lot. Never did much for me. 6471. Red Red Wine-UB40 1984/88 Released twice as a single. I'm not big on real reggae to begin with, and a bunch of English white boys doing it didn't impress me. Rather annoyed me. I'm ashamed to say I have the album! (And ex girlfriend's album) 6470. Robert DeNiro's Waiting-Bananarama 1984 I remember hearing this was originally Robert DeNiro's WEDDING, but they weren't allowed to sing that. You would think it was his NAME they couldn't use. Anyway, minor MTV song for this gal trio. 6469. Groovy Kind of Love-Phil Collins 1988 What was he thinking? This wasn't a balls out rocker to begin with, and he had to slow it down? I'm disappointed in Martina and her husband for having this as one of their songs! 6468. Let's Work!-Mick Jagger 1987 Ok, what was HE thinking?? Remember this video? Mick running "down the street" through the whole video? And at one point, a bunch of butchers running behind him carrying clevers and dead pigs. A far cry from Can't You Hear Me Knocking. 6467. Mony Mony (Live)-Billy Idol 1987 Alright, now what was HE.....well, he's an idiot. Always bothered me after this became popular that this get wedding play. Can't touch Tommy's version. 6466. Lady-Kenny Rogers 1980 Too slow for me. Gimmie the "Lady's" by Styx or LRB. 6465. Two Hearts-Phil Collins 1988/89 Phil was never a huge rocker, but he was starting to whimp out at this point. Two lightweight for me. His greatest hits is ruined being bogged down by stuff like this. 6464. To Be Loved-Jackie Wilson 1958 Another I first heard on my dad's jukebox. Not the vocal style I like really. Liked Eddie Murphy's rendition in Coming to America though! 6463. Taken in-Mike & the Mechanics 1986 Minor follow up to their bigger hits. Didn't hear it too much then, never hear it now. 6462. Suspicions-Eddie Rabbitt 1979 Eddie had good songs, and this wasn't awful, but wasn't up to par with his other stuff. Again, from my dad's juke. 6461. Chain Gang-Sam Cooke 1960 This one always annoyed me, and then when I worked at Blockbuster one summer, there was a movie trailer where a bunch of guys were singing this while working and it REALLY annoyed me!! So let's have your opinions!

6480. You Belong to the City-Glen Frey 1985 OK. Not my fave - Prefer The Heat Is On. Like Henley better in general. 6479. You're the First, the Last, My Everything-Barry White 1974/75 I'm sick and tired of posting on Barry White. This must be the 20th time this month.;D I still say that everything he sings sounds like everything else. 6478. Bridge Over Troubled Water-Simon & Garfunkel 1970 Love it. Top 250 for me. 6477. Darkness on the Edge of Town-Bruce Springsteen 1978 Have it on a cassette. Not crazy about it. 6476. Family Man-Fleetwood Mac 1988 Don't think I remember this one. 6475. Lies-Thompson Twins 1983 Don't remember this either. 6474. Let Her in-John Travolta 1976 He got a record deal so quickly because he was Vinnie Barbarino. Every 11 year old girl loved him. The song is terrible. 6473. The War Song-Culture Club 1984 I consider very few of their songs faves. This isn't one of them. 6472. Always & Forever-Heatwave 1978 I usually like soul ballads. I only slightly remember this one - I think it was because I was ignoring it. 6471. Red Red Wine-UB40 1984/88 This is in my All Time Bottom 25. (I'm gonna list them one of these days.) It was a dumb thing to do to a pretty decent Neil Diamond song. Maybe UB40. Me Be vomiting. 6470. Robert DeNiro's Waiting-Bananarama 1984 Don't remember it. 6469. Groovy Kind of Love-Phil Collins 1988 Decent Wayne Fontana song. Don't think it was particularly fast, and don't think Collins really slowed it down. He just destroyed it. 6468. Let's Work!-Mick Jagger 1987 Don't remember it. 6467. Mony Mony (Live)-Billy Idol 1987 So there was Red Red Wine and Groovy Kind Of Love and now this, the third song on today's list that is a terrible, disgusting remake. I wish you had started the list at 100,000 for this song. 6466. Lady-Kenny Rogers 1980 Just so-so. 6465. Two Hearts-Phil Collins 1988/89 No thanks. 6464. To Be Loved-Jackie Wilson 1958 I like Jackie's style. This one was not his best though. 6463. Taken in-Mike & the Mechanics 1986 Don't know it. 6462. Suspicions-Eddie Rabbitt 1979 Nah 6461. Chain Gang-Sam Cooke 1960 Not my fave by Sam. But it IS a classic. I kinda like it.

Well, Wayne & the Mindbenders wasn't really FAST, but it flowed more than Phil's, which seemed kinda stuck or something.

Well let's see 6480 - I always thought Glen had a good voice and I liked a few of his solo hits including this but his solo career just didn't have "it" like Henley's did. 6479 - Even though I like him alot this was my least fave - he had better. 6478 - I heard this for the first time at a very young age around 5 I guess - the daughter next door had a copy of the album. There was just something about the sound of the song together with Art's voice hitting those high notes. It blew me away. 6477 - My cousin is a HUGE Springsteen fan. Up until I recieved the live box set the Christmas of '85 . I wasn't really familiar with alot of Bruce's 70's material - I knew Born To Run of course and maybe one or two more but this quickly became a fave . Very powerful song . 6476 - I'm only familiar with the hits from "Tango" 6475 - Yes this also recieved alot of airplay on Muchmusic at the time I have to say that I also prefer Hold Me Now just a little bit more. 6474 - Yeah not one of his best, I remember seeing the album quite often in the cutout bins in the Late 70's. 6473 - Yuck make it stop! A real low point musically in '84 - just terrible. 6472 - I heard Boogie Nights alot more than this . This is ok but I prefer "Boogie" 6471 - I wasn't a big fan of there's - and so on top of that because it was really over played I got tired of it very quickly. 6470 - A buddy of mine was a huge fan - posters on the wall etc - I thought it was good, a hell of a lot better than Venus - ugh! 6469 - I thought he sang it Ok But I remember thinking the same thing why is he slowing it down even more - I didn't think it was possible LOL . I like The Mindbenders version so much more. 6468 - I don't remember this at all - and from your description I guess I didn't miss much LMAO 6467 - I really didn't mind this (sorry about that) although I have to admit that I listen to Tommy's version alot more. 6466 - Thought it was alright 6465 - Didn't mind it - I had to buy the soundtrack to Buster - I found a used copy on cassette because I was putting the music together for a buddy who was getting married at the time . They ended up taking the cassettes I made on their Honeymoon 6464 - Don't know this 6463 - Really liked this one very much I borrowed the album from a friend and recorded it onto cassette at that time. 6462 - The title is familiar 6461 - I liked it but I thought he had better - You Send Me , Twistin' The Night Away etc.

You Belong to the City--Absolutely cannot stand this song.
You're the First, The Last, My Everything--Another Barry White tune that sounds just like all his other ones.
Bridge Over Troubled Water--An awesome song. Love the lyrics, love the arrangement, love everything about it.
Darkness on the Edge of Town--Not bad. There are other Springsteen songs I'd rather listen to.
Family Man--This isn't ringing a bell with me for some reason.
Lies--Cool song. Catchy. I liked it then, and I like it now.
Let Her In--Lotsa memories of this song. It's not a great song, but I was in my John Travolta phase back then, so I listened to it a lot.
The War Song--Not their best, although I do sing along with it whenever I hear it, which isn't often anymore.
Always and Forever--A bit sappy.
Red Red Wine--This got a lot of airplay back then, and I'm really just tired of it.
Robert DeNiro's Waiting--I know the title, but the tune's just not coming to me right now.
Groovy Kind of Love--Yeesh.
Let's Work--I try to avoid Mick whenever possible.
Mony Mony--I'm probably one of the few (or only) one here who likes this version. Probably because I have lots of fond memories of hearing it at the bar my husband and I used to frequent.
Lady--Not bad. If I hear it, ok, and if not, that's ok too.
Two Hearts--Double Yeesh.
To Be Loved--Don't think I know it.
Taken In--Don't know it.
Suspicions--Love this one, for some reason. Always liked Eddie.
Chain Gang--Like it a lot. The Judds also have a version of this. Pretty good. Interesting female perspective.

Red Red Wine-UB40 1984/88 I haven't heard this yet. 6470. Robert DeNiro's Waiting-Bananarama 1984 Haven't heard this one either. 6469. Groovy Kind of Love-Phil Collins 1988 I haven't heard this version but I don't like this song much to begin with. 6468. Let's Work!-Mick Jagger 1987 Haven't heard this one yet. 6467. Mony Mony (Live)-Billy Idol 1987 I haven't heard this version. 6466. Lady-Kenny Rogers 1980 This song is okay. 6465. Two Hearts-Phil Collins 1988/89 Haven't heard. 6464. To Be Loved-Jackie Wilson 1958 Haven't heard. 6463. Taken in-Mike & the Mechanics 1986 The only thing I have heard of theirs is The Living Years. 6462. Suspicions-Eddie Rabbitt 1979 If this is the song I think it is, it isn't bad. 6461. Chain Gang-Sam Cooke 1960 This song is highly irritating. [/glow] Highly irritating! Good way of putting it! LOL!

Wow, can't picture the Judds doing that one!
