Ready for another set, kiddies?? 6505. One Sweet Day-Mariah Carey & Boys II Men 1995 (Previous ranking 5611) I like neither artist normally, and they make a song and it's better than any of their solo stuff. Go figure. 6504. Black Mountain Side-Led Zeppelin 1969 Little instrumental by Jimmy Page from the first album. Instrumentals have to be really special for me to give them a high ranking. 6503. Slave to Love-Bryan Ferry 1985 Bryan got pretty light when he went solo. I think this got a fair amount of MTV play. 6502. Golden Lark-Styx 1974 I picked up a budget tape by them so I could get the original version of Lady (not the 95 remake). All the other songs were pre-Tommy Shaw songs as well, including this one. Pretty mellow. 6501. I'll Be True to You-Monkees 1966 Album cut from the first album. Very typical Davy ballad of the time. Didn't make the first box set. 6500. Brother, Brother-Carole King 1971 Didn't know this until I picked up her Greatest Hits. Nice enough song, but nowhere near as good as her more legendary stuff. 6499. The Stroll-Diamonds 1957/58 I think of this as more of a novelty song, one you put on at a wedding or a retro sock hop party, not in the car, or in the backyard. 6498. Pop Singer-John Mellencamp 1989 To me, this was a disappointing album after how good the singles were on Lonesome Jubilee. John redeemed himself with me on Whenever We Wanted, but I didn't like this song. Or the video. 6497. Song Sung Blue-Neil Diamond 1972 Another song by Neil that I suppose is nice enough, but he doesn't do much for me. Like mow my lawn or anything. 6496. After All-Cher & Peter Cetera 1989 (Previous ranking 4514) I don't know where, when or how I would've heard this at the time, I certainly wasn't listening to top 40 then. I think this pairing would have been better in 1974. 6495. True Colors-Cyndi Lauper 1986 Not her best ballad, but this wasn't too bad. 6494. The Sounds of Silence-Simon & Garfunkel 1965/66 Ok, I'm ready to get blasted for this. But I am just not into them. And this song is just boring to me. 6493. Automatic Lover (Call For Love)-Real McCoy 1993 My wife really liked the singles off this album. So of course I heard them a lot. I'm not into dance music (unless it's 70's!) but I tolerated this stuff. 6492. Put Your Head on My Shoulder-Paul Anka 1959 Wasn't this one of Potsie's big numbers? Didn't he used to sing it to Shortcake? Remember when she called him Dren? (Opposite of nerd) Now you see why it's ranked so low. 6491. Puppy Love-Paul Anka 1960 Two in a row from Paul. His songs are kindof interchangable anyway. Do you see why the British Invasion HAD to happen? 6490. Convoy-C.W. McCall 1975/76 Novelty tune based on the latest craze. Helps explain why you don't hear it on oldies radio these days. 6489. We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)-Tina Turner 1985 My buddy and I had a ball making fun of this song. But the memories of it are good, so this ranks higher than most of her tunes. 6488. Glory of Love-Peter Cetera 1986 Oh Peter, why? Why must you torture us like this? The Karate Kid would have done just fine without this. 6487. Big Time-Peter Gabriel 1986/87 I liked many of the album cuts on So, but I really didn't like the two big singles. They just annoyed me so. 6486. Souls-Rick Springfield 1983 I used to sing, "Two moles, searching underground..." That's my best memory of this song. Again, his earlier stuff was better. Let's hear it!

6340 - I have to admit that the "BOYZ" could harmonize well together but I just couldn't get into their music at all - then to have Mariah there as well - ugh. 6339 - Always thought it was kind of a cool little tune - this is among the Zep tunes that my classic rock station plays. 6338 - Yes I also remember hearing this quite often at the time. I thought it was alright. 6337 - Don't know it - but would like to hear it. 6336 - A great tune from the first album, and also released by The Hollies as Yes I Will . 6335 - I've probably heard it at some point. 6334 - A fun tune - I have this on cassette and a few months ago found a cover of it by The Smithereens (very good!) 6333 - I remember borrowing the album and recording this , Jackie Brown and Martha Say onto a mix tape . Thought they were good but not quite as good as the Lonesome Jubilee stuff. 6332 - LOL Avery nice laid back tune from Neil. 6331 - eh 6330 - I remember Phil Collins version as well . This was a great tune but I liked Time after Time more . 6229 - One of their best - I really have to upgrade to CD one of these days. 6228 - 6227 - Potsie LOL:) I remember that episode very well . Yup he sang it . 6226 - I watched a documentary on Paul not that long ago - they showed alot of early footage from around this time and it was VERY interesting. 6225 - You're right Adam I can't recall hearing this on the radio except when it was new. I have it on vinyl and CD. Great memories. 6224 - Remember hearing this often - I thought she had done better though. 6223 - Oh boy! - all that talent wasted on this - yuck 6222 - I really liked the videos alot 6221 - Wow I had totally forgot about this one - it's actually really good.

6340. One Sweet Day-Mariah Carey & Boys II Men 1995 (Previous ranking 5611) This song was pure magic. I like both artists (always have), and this was just about both the Boyz' and Mariah's best. 16 weeks on top--could we all stand it!!!
6339. Black Mountain Side-Led Zeppelin 1969 I'll probably get their first CD sometime--not very familiar with this.
6338. Slave to Love-Bryan Ferry 1985 Heard of this, but not much.
6337. Golden Lark-Styx 1974 Their early stuff was fine!
6336. I'll Be True to You-Monkees 1966 Not too shabby.
6335. Brother, Brother-Carole King 1971 There wasn't a bad song on Tapestry!
6334. The Stroll-Diamonds 1957/58 My mom and I love dancing to this! Best done with several of your girl and boy friends.
6333. Pop Singer-John Mellencamp 1989 Many people didn't rave over his "Big Daddy" album, and likewse, it always has been one of my lesser fave Mellencamp albums. But this song was great, and the follow-up, "Jackie Brown" was SORELY overlooked.
6332. Song Sung Blue-Neil Diamond 1972 This has really grown on me. LOVE the electric piano intro.
6331. After All-Cher & Peter Cetera 1989 (Previous ranking 4514) Give or take.
6330. True Colors-Cyndi Lauper 1986 Better than "Time after time".
6229. The Sounds of Silence-Simon & Garfunkel 1965/66 First blast! Nuff said.
6228. Automatic Lover (Call For Love)-Real McCoy 1993 I've had the cassette since current, and I'm ready to burn the CD!
6227. Put Your Head on My Shoulder-Paul Anka 1959 Mushy, but touching.
6226. Puppy Love-Paul Anka 1960 Same comment. But Donny's version gives me TIGHT goosebumps.
6225. Convoy-C.W. McCall 1975/76 My fave local DJ just "wasn't gonna play it". From a super DJ, I'd have to call him a nerd on that. All other CB radio tunes just couldn't compare (DARE to hear "Shirley and Squirrely!")
6224. We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)-Tina Turner 1985 Maybe my least fave of her top 10's. Never did a huge amount for me, only liked it because it was big, and it was Tina.
6223. Glory of Love-Peter Cetera 1986 I honestly thought this would win an Oscar, but Take My Breath Away beat it. What a year for movie tunes.
6222. Big Time-Peter Gabriel 1986/87 This was a WORKOUT! Also a COOOOOOOOOL video!
6221. Souls-Rick Springfield 1983 No question, his least memorable of ALL his top 40 hits, even more than "Rock of life". Even left off his original "hits" album. Nothing special, but an occasional listen is fine.

6340. One of my favorite songs of all-time. This song was released around the time that my uncle was killed in a drunk driving accident, and this tune means so much to my family. We sort of adopted it as our theme song, I guess you could say. But I still love it today. Such beautiful harmonies.
6339. I don't know a whole lot by Zep. This is one of 'em.
6338. Bryan who? Sorry, don't know it.
6337. I know nothing by Styx. Shame, ain't it?
6336 - 6332. Don't know these.
6331. Hmm...I'll have to look out for that one.
6330. I agree with your comments here. It is good though. But Time After Time is better.
6329. My favorite song by the legendary duo. I'm not really into them, but for some reason I really love this song! "Hello darkness, my old friend." One of my favorite lyric snippets. Don't ask me why. It's just one of those things.
6328. Wait a minute. Don't you have your numbers mixed up?
I only know one song by this group. I'm not real into the dance stuff myself.
6327. I think I know this one. It's passable, I guess.
6326. Never heard it.
6325. This song gets on my last nerve. I just don't understand why anyone would attempt to make a song out of this crap!
6324. I like it. She had better, she had worse.
6323. Of course, I know THE Glory of Love, but is this the same tune? If not, I don't know it.
6322. I've never heard this song.
6321. LOL. The only Rick Springfield tune I know is Jesse's Girl.

6340. One Sweet Day-Mariah Carey & Boys II Men 1995 A bit too overwrought for me, but I won't deny that I've sung along with it a time or two 6339. Black Mountain Side-Led Zeppelin 1969 Not special to me 6338. Slave to Love-Bryan Ferry 1985 I really like this one 6337. Golden Lark-Styx 1974 I don't remember this one 6336. I'll Be True to You-Monkees 1966 Don't know it 6335. Brother, Brother-Carole King 1971 Not one of her best but still ok 6334. The Stroll-Diamonds 1957/58 Not ringing a bell at all 6333. Pop Singer-John Mellencamp 1989 Ditto your comments 6332. Song Sung Blue-Neil Diamond 1972 Not nearly as good as Solitary Man or I Am I Said 6331. After All-Cher & Peter Cetera 1989 (Previous ranking 4514) It would've been great to see this pairing in the early 70s! I confess that I have a secret liking of this song. From the movie "Chances Are". 6330. True Colors-Cyndi Lauper 1986 This is incredible when she sings it live. 6229. The Sounds of Silence-Simon & Garfunkel 1965/66 I agreed about Scarborough Fair but this one is okay. Not the best from them though 6228. Automatic Lover (Call For Love)-Real McCoy 1993 I never liked this track. A lot of my friends did though 6227. Put Your Head on My Shoulder-Paul Anka 1959 LOL about the HAppy Days stuff. Hate this song. 6226. Puppy Love-Paul Anka 1960 I like the later Anka stuff better 6225. Convoy-C.W. McCall 1975/76 Novelty tune extraordinaire. Lame. 6224. We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)-Tina Turner 1985 "Two men enter! One man LEAVE!" This song isn't that bad actually but her acting in the movie is so bad that it makes me laugh. 6223. Glory of Love-Peter Cetera 1986 Torture is right. 6222. Big Time-Peter Gabriel 1986/87 I agree, not one of the best from that great album. 6221. Souls-Rick Springfield 1983 *Snort** Moles?! That's funny.

6340. One Sweet Day-Mariah Carey & Boys II Men 1995 (Previous ranking 5611) This one isn't bad - pretty melody. 6339. Black Mountain Side-Led Zeppelin 1969 Not their best. 6338. Slave to Love-Bryan Ferry 1985 I don't think I remember this one. 'Kiss and Tell' is pretty good, though. 6337. Golden Lark-Styx 1974 I've never heard this, but I'd be interested in checking it out. 6336. I'll Be True to You-Monkees 1966 I can't quite place this one offhand, but I enjoy most Monkees songs. 6335. Brother, Brother-Carole King 1971 I agree - it's good, but not up to the level of her hits. 6334. The Stroll-Diamonds 1957/58 This one has grown on me a lot recently. 6333. Pop Singer-John Mellencamp 1989 One of my favorites of his from the late 80s. 6332. Song Sung Blue-Neil Diamond 1972 Love this! Boy, does this ever bring back memories - one of the first songs I remember hearing on the radio. 6331. After All-Cher & Peter Cetera 1989 (Previous ranking 4514) I've never been crazy about this one. 6330. True Colors-Cyndi Lauper 1986 I didn't like this much when it was current, but it's grown on me. 6229. The Sounds of Silence-Simon & Garfunkel 1965/66 Beautiful, haunting song - a classic. 6228. Automatic Lover (Call For Love)-Real McCoy 1993 I don't think I know this one, but I didn't mind their other singles. 6227. Put Your Head on My Shoulder-Paul Anka 1959 Nicely done. I don't hear it as often as his other early hits. 6226. Puppy Love-Paul Anka 1960 Not as good as the previous song, but not bad. 6225. Convoy-C.W. McCall 1975/76 This is SO 70s! I've liked this ever since childhood days. 6224. We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)-Tina Turner 1985 This is another one that I like more now than I did when it was current. 6223. Glory of Love-Peter Cetera 1986 Nice vocals, but he did much better work with Chicago. 6222. Big Time-Peter Gabriel 1986/87 One of my faves of Peter's - very catchy. 6221. Souls-Rick Springfield 1983 Love this one! (Of course, you knew I'd say that! ;D)

6340. One Sweet Day-Mariah Carey & Boys II Men 1995 (Previous ranking 5611) I never cared for either artist, and these kind of songs irritate me.
6339. Black Mountain Side-Led Zeppelin 1969 One of Page's first uses of an alternate tuning.
6338. Slave to Love-Bryan Ferry 1985 I like Bryan Ferry, but I'm not familiar with this tune. I'm sure I have it, though. I'll have to look.
6337. Golden Lark-Styx 1974 I have a couple of early Styx tunes on my hard drive. "Best Thing" is one of them. I'm going to check out more of their early stuff.
6336. I'll Be True to You-Monkees 1966 Great song, one of Davy's best early tunes. The Hollies did it originally, it's on their 3 CD collection I have (Under it's original title, "Yes I Will")
6335. Brother, Brother-Carole King 1971 I don't own Tapestry, but I probably should..
6334. The Stroll-Diamonds 1957/58 eh..
6333. Pop Singer-John Mellencamp 1989 again, eh..
6332. Song Sung Blue-Neil Diamond 1972 My mom loved this, she was a BIG Neil fan. This isn't one of my faves by him, though.
6331. After All-Cher & Peter Cetera 1989 (Previous ranking 4514) Heard they did a duet together, don't remember it.
6330. True Colors-Cyndi Lauper 1986 First album was better!
6229. The Sounds of Silence-Simon & Garfunkel 1965/66 I like it, they had an OK vocal blend.
6228. Automatic Lover (Call For Love)-Real McCoy 1993 I don't remember this, but I really don't like this type of club music. Bad memories of my early 20's.
6227. Put Your Head on My Shoulder-Paul Anka 1959 Potsie WAS a dren!
6226. Puppy Love-Paul Anka 1960 Oh, God, make it stop! These are the type of records that really make me glad that The Beatles came along!
6225. Convoy-C.W. McCall 1975/76 This song used to scare me as a kid, especially when I was riding in the car at night and it came on the radio.
6224. We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)-Tina Turner 1985 Not bad, haven't heard it since '85.
6223. Glory of Love-Peter Cetera 1986 Sad that the bass player from Chicago was reduced to THIS!
6222. Big Time-Peter Gabriel 1986/87 Great song, great album!
6221. Souls-Rick Springfield 1983 I don't think I remember it. Maybe it's on my CD, maybe not..

Ready for another set, kiddies?? "Kiddies?".....I've been dying to use this: - thanks for giving me a reason! 6340. One Sweet Day-Mariah Carey & Boys II Men 1995 (Previous ranking 5611) Not familiar with it - I heard several people one year talk about hearing at funerals, so I think I'll pass..... 6339. Black Mountain Side-Led Zeppelin 1969 Not familiar. 6338. Slave to Love-Bryan Ferry 1985 It's ok..... 6337. Golden Lark-Styx 1974 No thanks. 6336. I'll Be True to You-Monkees 1966 I'm not big on Davy's mushy girlie girl stuff, but this one's not too bad - heard it live once on their awesome 1987 Summer Tour (WITH AL!!!! - FIRST TIME I SAW HIM LIVE) 6335. Brother, Brother-Carole King 1971 It's ok. 6334. The Stroll-Diamonds 1957/58 This was one they played at my parents 25th anniversary party - all the old geezers got up and danced....... 6333. Pop Singer-John Mellencamp 1989 Once he picked up the Mellencamp, he had a change in attitude and it showed in his songs - for the worse for me. 6332. Song Sung Blue-Neil Diamond 1972 It's actually not too bad - he has a few I like - very few. 6331. After All-Cher & Peter Cetera 1989 (Previous ranking 4514) It was on the radio alot and in a movie but I can't remember which one...... 6330. True Colors-Cyndi Lauper 1986 It was ok, but a bit sappy. 6229. The Sounds of Silence-Simon & Garfunkel 1965/66 I'm not gonna say too much about you not liking this - it's your perogative, just like my opinion of hair metal ....... 6228. Automatic Lover (Call For Love)-Real McCoy 1993 It was ok. 6227. Put Your Head on My Shoulder-Paul Anka 1959 Way too sappy. 6226. Puppy Love-Paul Anka 1960 Worse than the one above. 6225. Convoy-C.W. McCall 1975/76 One of my husband's favorite songs - I actually have a soft spot for this one..... 6224. We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)-Tina Turner 1985 I enjoyed the movie. 6223. Glory of Love-Peter Cetera 1986 Please make this one go away! There's a light station around here that still literally plays this song on a daily basis (the one they made us listen to at our old job) - AND THE MOVIE SUCKED! 6222. Big Time-Peter Gabriel 1986/87 I really like this one - love the "Hi There!" at the beginning. 6221. Souls-Rick Springfield 1983 I don't recall this one.

6340. One Sweet Day-Mariah Carey & Boys II Men 1995 According to my Whitburn, this is the all time #1 song through 1999. Excuse me?? ?? It's not a bad song, but it sounds like a hundred other songs. Nothing special.
6339. Black Mountain Side-Led Zeppelin 1969 Don't know it.
6338. Slave to Love-Bryan Ferry 1985 Don't know it.
6337. Golden Lark-Styx 1974 Don't know it
6336. I'll Be True to You-Monkees 1966 I have the album, but can't place this song.
6335. Brother, Brother-Carole King 1971 Don't know this either. Greatest hits album??
6334. The Stroll-Diamonds 1957/58 Not a novelty song. A genuine dance song. I "Strolled" plenty times in high school. To a 50s fan, it's a classic. 6333. Pop Singer-John Mellencamp 1989 Don't know it.
6332. Song Sung Blue-Neil Diamond 1972 Not my fave by him. Soso
6331. After All-Cher & Peter Cetera 1989 If it's Cher, I don't want to know it.
6330. True Colors-Cyndi Lauper 1986 Soso. She did many better.
6229. The Sounds of Silence-Simon & Garfunkel 1965/66 All time top 250. Couldn't get this one out of my head in '65.
6228. Automatic Lover (Call For Love)-Real McCoy 1993 Don't know it.
6227. Put Your Head on My Shoulder-Paul Anka 1959 This was typical teenage stuff in '59. I was a teenager in '59. So to me, it's a classic, Potsie or not.
6226. Puppy Love-Paul Anka 1960 Didn't like this nearly as much as "Shoulder". But this was infinitely better than that Donnie Osmond cover.
6225. Convoy-C.W. McCall 1975/76 I always thought Oldies should be an outlet for memories. Therefore, a craze not being in anymore shouldn't prevent an Oldies station from playing a memorable oldie. That said, I hate the song.
6224. We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)-Tina Turner 1985 Not bad.
6223. Glory of Love-Peter Cetera 1986 Very Chicago-y. I've always liked it.
6222. Big Time-Peter Gabriel 1986/87 Eh
6221. Souls-Rick Springfield 1983 Don't care for it.

I didn't mean it the same way I meant with Convoy. It IS a dance tune. Thus, not one you'd play cruising down the highway with the top down! LOL! 6225. I agree, an oldie is an oldie. 6223. You think so?

[glow=red,2,300][6340. One Sweet Day-Mariah Carey & Boys II Men 1995 (Previous ranking 5611) Ewwww.....
6339. Black Mountain Side-Led Zeppelin 1969 This is okay, I guess.

6335. Brother, Brother-Carole King 1971 Nor this one.
6334. The Stroll-Diamonds 1957/58 I'm not too wild about this song at all.
6333. Pop Singer-John Mellencamp 1989 I don't really care for this song either.
6332. Song Sung Blue-Neil Diamond 1972 This song is okay but not one of my favorites of his.
6331. After All-Cher & Peter Cetera 1989 (Previous ranking 4514) I haven't heard this song yet.
6330. True Colors-Cyndi Lauper 1986 I don't like this song at all, but I am not big on her music to begin with.
6229. The Sounds of Silence-Simon & Garfunkel 1965/66 I like the version that has the drums and the electric guitar the best. The one with just the regular guitars is sort of boring to me. It is still one of my favorite songs, though.
6228. Automatic Lover (Call For Love)-Real McCoy 1993 This one sort of annoys me.
6227. Put Your Head on My Shoulder-Paul Anka 1959 I am not big on this song. It irritates me.
6226. Puppy Love-Paul Anka 1960 So does this one.
6225. Convoy-C.W. McCall 1975/76 I haven't heard this one.
6224. We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)-Tina Turner 1985 This song is okay.
6223. Glory of Love-Peter Cetera 1986 I haven't heard this song.
6222. Big Time-Peter Gabriel 1986/87 I don't really like this song that much either.
6221. Souls-Rick Springfield 1983 I haven't heard this song. [/glow]

Umm...could I make a suggestion? Could you maybe put the date in the subject line? My little old brain has a hard time remembering which part of the INSANE list I need to answer. Having a date to go by would help a lot. Thanks. One Sweet Day--I think I actually have the cassingle of this, so I must have liked it at one time. Or else I got it cheap at a garage sale somewhere. ;D Black Mountain Side--Don't know it. Slave To Love--I'm not familiar with too much by Bryan Ferry. Golden Lark--Not ringing any bells. I'll Be True to You--See above comment. Brother Brother--Love it. Good stuff! The Stroll--Not into the 50's much. This song's ok. Pop Singer--Never cared for this much. I have it on some sort of a "various artists" cd, and there's a typo in the title. It reads "Cop Singer". LOL! Song Sung Blue--I never understood the lyrics to this when I was a kid. Then, when I was an adult, I didn't care what they meant. LOL! After All--I do find myself singing along to this when I hear it. True Colors--Not bad. I like the lyrics. The Sounds of Silence--Love, love, love this song. The song "spoke" to me when I was younger. Automatic Lover--Not familiar. Put Your Head on My Shoulder--There's just something about Paul Anka that I don't like. He always seemed kinda creepy to me. I don't know why. LOL! Puppy Love--Of course, I was in LOVE with Donny Osmond's version when I was a "love-struck" teenager. Don't much care for either version these days. Convoy--Ick. And then they made a movie of the same name. Double ick! We Don't Need Another Hero--This song brings back memories of going to see Beyond Thunderdome, and seeing Graham Nash in the lobby of the theater, and then sitting behind him a couple of rows in the movie. After the movie ended, my husband and I were able to talk to him and get his autograph. I always like to say I went to the movies with Graham Nash. Glory of Love--Never liked it much. Big Time--Like it a lot. Funny lyrics. Good video. "Hi There!" Souls--Don't know it. Guess I was never into Springfield much.

One Sweet Day - Get the worse song on this day's list out of the way earlier. Bad, bad, bad
Black Mountain Side - Not nearly as good as the other songs on the first album.
Slave to Love - I don't know this song, but I love Bryan Ferry's songs with Roxy Music.
Golden Lark - Probably heard it, just can't place it.
I'll Be True to You - ?
Brother Brother - Good song from Carole
The Stroll - Good novelty song, but I don't play it that much anymore.
Pop singer - ?
Song Sung Blue - Good song, just not among his best.
After All - ?
True Colors - Pretty good song.
Sounds of Silence - One of my top two or three songs from Simon & Garfunkel and maybe one of my top 25 songs from the 60s.
Automatic Lover - ?
Put Your Head on My Shoulder & Puppy Love - Neither does much for me.
Convoy - Was kinda of cute & funny the first couple of times, but got real old fast.
We Don't Need Another Hero - Ok song.
Glory of Love - Bad song
Big Time - Wasn't really big on this one.
Souls - I had pretty stopped listening to Rick by this time, don't know it.

6340. Believe me, I like neither artist! LOL!

All other CB radio tunes just couldn't compare (DARE to hear "Shirley and Squirrely!") 6224. 6335. Actually, this was on a different album.
