There Kathy, happy? 6485. You Decorated My Life-Kenny Rogers 1979 Most of Kenny's country stuff is very middle of the road and doesn't excite me too much. 6484. I Want You Back-The Storm 1991 Yes, another one from this Journey spinoff. If memory serves, Greg Rolie sings lead on this one. 6483. Fight Fire With Fire-Metallica 1984 The first Metallica entry. I wasn't into them during their climb. Actually it was my wife who get me into their olders stuff! Yes, the same woman who got me into country! In fact one year for Christmas, I got her three CD's, Olivia Newton-John's GH, Dixie Chicks' Wide Open Spaces and Metallica's Master of Puppets! How's THAT for variety? 6482. Yester-me, Yester-you, Yesterday-Stevie Wonder 1969 Stevie's stuff was starting to get more into the time period I liked at this point, but this one doesn't do much for me. 6481. Everybody Hurts-R.E.M. 1992 I'm sorry, Michael Stipe just annoys me. And this got way too much MTV play. 6480. Danger Zone-Kenny Loggins 1986 Hey look, it's a Kenny Loggins soundtrack song! Who'd have thought it? Sort of bland. Get back with Jimmy!! 6479. Yes We Can Can-Pointer Sisters 1973 Don't remember it from back then, heard it years later. I like the 80's stuff better-but not much better. 6478. War Games-Monkees 1968/88 Originally unreleased Davy song that ended up on their first Missing Links collection. Davy was ON for some songs. This wasn't one of them. 6477. Promise of a New Day-Paula Abdul 1991 One of many dance artists of the time. Not what I was into. 6476. Roll to Me-Del Amitri 1995 Nothing actually wrong with this one at all. Just kinda more mellow than the Collective Soul, Foo Fighters, etc that I was listening to at the time. (Sorry Ken!) 6475. (Hey, Won't You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song-B.J. Thomas 1975 That title alone merits the low ranking. He peaked with Hooked on a Feeling. 6474. Private Dancer-Tina Turner 1985 Not much to say, not big on Tina Turner. 6473. Ease on Down the Road-Michael Jackson & Diana Ross 1978 Wow, them together gets ranked higher than each of them solo! Kindof a funny song when thought about in the context of the Wizard of Oz. 6472. The Most Beautiful Girl in the World-Prince 1995 I think he was a mutant punctuation mark at this point, but I can't find it on the keyboard. His last good song was Mountains. 6471. Escapade-Janet Jackson 1990 Again, I wasn't into the dance music of the time. I can tolerate a few of hers though. My wife used to like her stuff. 6470. Angel of Harlem-U2 1988/89 Again, the Rattle & Hum singles did nothing for me. Very boring to me. 6469. Don't Let Go the Coat-Who 1981 This one doesn't get the play of the other two singles on this "comeback" album of sorts. Nothing special. 6468. Lucky-Britney Spears 2000/01 (Previous ranking 4924) Please don't ask me to explain that previous ranking, I can't. She might actually have a good voice behind all that e-lec-tronic tinkering, I don't know. 6467. Serpent is Rising-Styx 1974 Again, found this the discount time I picked up. Has that typical "ensemble" singing that is Styx's trademark. 6466. Never Named-Soundgarden 1996 This was the one song on this album that I got into besides the ones that go regular radio play. Not bad, but those other cuts are so much better. Let's have it!

6320. You Decorated My Life-Kenny Rogers 1979 Not bad but not his best. 6319. I Want You Back-The Storm 1991 Make it stop. Seriously, as much as I love Greg etc. this song is so bad. 6318. Fight Fire With Fire-Metallica 1984 Not one of my faves from them 6317. Yester-me, Yester-you, Yesterday-Stevie Wonder 1969 I like this tune a lot. 6316. Everybody Hurts-R.E.M. 1992 So overplayed. But the first time I heard it I liked it - especially the end. 6315. Danger Zone-Kenny Loggins 1986 Oy. From "Top Gun" right? 6314. Yes We Can Can-Pointer Sisters 1973 I haven't heard this song in YEARS. 6313. War Games-Monkees 1968/88 Don't know it 6312. Promise of a New Day-Paula Abdul 1991 I remember liking the video. Isn't this later than 91? I'm probably wrong... 6311. Roll to Me-Del Amitri 1995 Is this the song with the creepy "adult head baby" video? I was always so freaked out by that. 6310. (Hey, Won't You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song-B.J. Thomas 1975 I like this tune. One of his best IMO 6309. Private Dancer-Tina Turner 1985 My friend does a great version of this in his drag show when he dresses like Tina. 6308. Ease on Down the Road-Michael Jackson & Diana Ross 1978 I love all of the stuff from The Wiz 6307. The Most Beautiful Girl in the World-Prince 1995 I liked this when it came out but now I don't really. 6306. Escape-Janet Jackson 1990 Another one of hers that I don't like. 6305. Angel of Harlem-U2 1988/89 One of the better tracks from this album. 6304. Don't Let Go the Coat-Who 1981 Never hear this one 6303. Lucky-Britney Spears 2000/01 (Previous ranking 4924) I remember giving you a lot of sh!t for the previous ranking I'm still surprised that it's so high. *shakes head* oy... 6302. Serpent is Rising-Styx 1974 Another early one I don't remember. 6301. Never Named-Soundgarden 1996 Good tune. Love Chris' voice on it.

6320. Hiss, boo. 6319. I'm not familiar with this group. 6318. Don't know much by Metallica, but what I've heard I like pretty good, so I'm sure this song is okay. 6317. Never heard it, but boy is that a long name! What a tongue twister! 6316. I like this one, but only when I'm sad. The lyrics are so depressing that the song just brings me down any other time. 6315. Not bad. Footloose is better. 6314. Don't know this one. 6313. I'm ashamed to say that I don't know a whole lot by the Monkees, just the fluff tracks that got a lot of play on their show. 6312. Her second best song. My sister's got two of her albums. The one Promise of a New Day is on isn't so bad, but now that I look back she's not that great of a singer. This one is really good, though. 6311. Don't know anything by this group. 6310. That really is a friggin' long title. I would avoid ever listening to it just so I wouldn't have to say the name of the song! LOL. 6309. Good, but not great. Next please... 6308. I never saw The Wiz, but it's a Wizard of Oz ripoff, so I can tell you right now I'd hate it. I've heard this song, and it just gets on my nerves. 6307. Eh. I like a few Prince songs, but this ain't one of 'em. 6306. I don't know Escape. Are you sure it's not Escapade? 6305. Don't know it. 6304. Ya got me. 6303. Lyrically, one of her best. Vocally, it's the same as all the others. Nothing but electronics. And to reply about your thought, she doesn't have a voice behind all that either. She's even wrose without it, actually. 6302. Don't know it. 6301. I'm not familiar with Soundgarden.

6320 - I remember hearing his songs regularly around this time . Pleasant 70's country. 6319 - I'm suprised that I don't remember hearing any of the songs .I would imagine that it's fairly hard to find now? 6318 - I was familiar with the name and saw the odd T shirt around the halls in High School. But I don't think I had seen any of the video's yet. 6317 - One of my late 60's faves from Stevie. 6316 - This is among my REM faves. 6315 - There was no way you could escape it LOL it was everywhere! 6314 - I remember hearing this later on as well . They can really sing but the tune really didn't do too much for me - the 80's stuff was better. 6313 - Don't know it but would like to hear it 6312 - I never got into her songs. 6311 - Sob! LOL I don't need to mention how much I really love these guys - the best of CD is awesome .The Change Everything cassette which was my introduction to them is also fine. Great melodic pop - to me they should have had way more success sales wise although they had alot of critical praise. Yes the video is kind of freaky . 6310 - Heard this quite often - totally forgotten today however. 6309 - Saw the video on a regular basis I preffered Better Be Good To Me . 6308 - Before Michael went completley off his nut LOL I've seen The Wiz on TV a couple of times over the years . Yeah it's an ok tune. 6307 - Don't remember this - actually after Batdance I had basically written him off. 6306 - Wow two in a row! - no idea. 6305 - Thought it was a good one . A buddy of mine bought the disc at the time and played it often. 6304 - I'm familiar with the title and I might have heard this once or twice but the melody's not coming to me. 6303 - Her voice - eh - I've heard better - she sings through her nose LOL 6302 - I've always meant to investigate those early 70's tracks , although once again the title is familiar , the only two I've ever heard from this era are Lady and Lorelei. 6301 - Never got into the grunge genre . Black Hole Sun was pretty good but I don't really know anything else.

6320. You Decorated My Life-Kenny Rogers 1979 Somehow I missed this one. I know it was a big hit, I just don't remember it.
6319. I Want You Back-The Storm 1991 Again, I know who they are, but not this incarnation.
6318. Fight Fire With Fire-Metallica 1984 I liked them in high school, but that was years ago. I can take their early stuff from time to time.
6317. Yester-me, Yester-you, Yesterday-Stevie Wonder 1969 Love this!
6316. Everybody Hurts-R.E.M. 1992 My least favorite song on Automatic For The People
6315. Danger Zone-Kenny Loggins 1986 Not one of his better tunes
6314. Yes We Can Can-Pointer Sisters 1973 I remember seeing them do this on Sessame Street
6313. War Games-Monkees 1968/88 Not that great.
6312. Promise of a New Day-Paula Abdul 1991 Bleeeech..
6311. Roll to Me-Del Amitri 1995 Nice short song.
6310. (Hey, Won't You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song-B.J. Thomas 1975 Good comeback. Him, Johnny Rivers, and Tom Jones all had comeback hits in a country vein around the same time in the mid-70s.
6309. Private Dancer-Tina Turner 1985 Didn't like this song.
6308. Ease on Down the Road-Michael Jackson & Diana Ross 1978 Wasn't this by Consumer Rapport? I think the hit version was.
6307. The Most Beautiful Girl in the World-Prince 1995 A guilty pleasure of mine. Classic soul sound.
6306. Escape-Janet Jackson 1990 No...
6305. Angel of Harlem-U2 1988/89 Decent, but not "Gloria"
6304. Don't Let Go the Coat-Who 1981 I like the Face Dances album, this tune is OK.
6303. Lucky-Britney Spears 2000/01 (Previous ranking 4924) Uh.... OK......
6302. Serpent is Rising-Styx 1974 I need to hear more of this stuff!
6301. Never Named-Soundgarden 1996 Remember the album, not sure about this song. I'd probably know it if I heard it.

6320. You Decorated My Life-Kenny Rogers 1979 Not one of my top favorites of Kenny's, but still nicely done.
6319. I Want You Back-The Storm 1991 I don't know this one, but I'd like to investigate this group sometime.
6318. Fight Fire With Fire-Metallica 1984 Is this a remake of the Kansas song? I don't think I've heard this one.
6317. Yester-me, Yester-you, Yesterday-Stevie Wonder 1969 Okay, but one of my lesser faves of his.
6316. Everybody Hurts-R.E.M. 1992 I'm not sure about this one - I'm kinda hit and miss about R.E.M.
6315. Danger Zone-Kenny Loggins 1986 I remember hearing this often back then. Good, but not his best.
6314. Yes We Can Can-Pointer Sisters 1973 This is probably my second-least favorite of theirs. It's not bad, but I like their late 70s - early 80s material more.
6313. War Games-Monkees 1968/88 I'm not familiar with this one.
6312. Promise of a New Day-Paula Abdul 1991 I like some of Paula's songs, but don't remember this one too well.
6311. Roll to Me-Del Amitri 1995 Nice, catchy tune - remember hearing this a lot when I started listening to some top 40 again for a time (1995-1997).
6310. (Hey, Won't You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song-B.J. Thomas 1975 I've always liked this - brings back a lot of memories.
6309. Private Dancer-Tina Turner 1985 I like the jazzy music on this, but other than that, it's not a fave.
6308. Ease on Down the Road-Michael Jackson & Diana Ross 1978 I like this a lot - haven't heard it very often over the years, though.
6307. The Most Beautiful Girl in the World-Prince 1995 I don't remember this one, but I agree with Ken - I never got into his post 'Batdance' material.
6306. Escape-Janet Jackson 1990 I've never liked this one much - she had better songs.
6305. Angel of Harlem-U2 1988/89 Not bad, but I prefer their War-era material.
6304. Don't Let Go the Coat-Who 1981 I don't think I've heard this - same album as 'You Better You Bet'?
6303. Lucky-Britney Spears 2000/01 (Previous ranking 4924) No.
6302. Serpent is Rising-Styx 1974 I don't know this one, but if it's anything like their other early work, I think I'd like it.
6301. Never Named-Soundgarden 1996 I've heard some of Soundgarden's songs, but this one doesn't sound familiar.

20 songs a day, that's my way! 6320. You Decorated My Life-Kenny Rogers 1979 From his best era of music. 4 of my top 5 all-time faves of his were all on the chart in 1979. WHAT A YEAR. Loved this since current, great piano. 6319. I Want You Back-The Storm 1991 Looks like the 2 I know most by them should be up yet higher...should check this out on half.com. 6318. Fight Fire With Fire-Metallica 1984 Bet it's not the Kansas tune. Not familiar with much Metallica before "And Justice for All". 6317. Yester-me, Yester-you, Yesterday-Stevie Wonder 1969 Nowadays, this time frame from Stevie has become my fave period. I love this, yet "Cherie" and "Never had a dream" were even BETTER! 6316. Everybody Hurts-R.E.M. 1992 Hated this always. Don't even get me started on "Man on the moon". 6315. Danger Zone-Kenny Loggins 1986 One of his better soundtrack tunes! 6314. Yes We Can Can-Pointer Sisters 1973 Awesome! Gritty soul! 6313. War Games-Monkees 1968/88 I hope not the CSN tune! As with most unheard-of Monkees tracks, should look further. 6312. Promise of a New Day-Paula Abdul 1991 One of her better post "Forever your girl" tunes, but not really smashing. 6311. Roll to Me-Del Amitri 1995 This is one tune I still hear a lot, yet I don't really tire of it too much. Fits lots of formats (at least in '95). 6310. (Hey, Won't You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song 1975 I like all of BJ's hits, this one no exception (Now one of the rather few #1's of 1955-1999 I still don't have on CD yet). 6309. Private Dancer-Tina Turner 1985 You couldn't forget her "ahhh'"s in this. Pleasant. 6308. Ease on Down the Road-Michael Jackson & Diana Ross 1978 I don't think this got hardly any radio play (to my knowledge), yet almost made the top 40 (probably a reasonable 45 seller). Nothing I'm REAL crazy about. 6307. The Most Beautiful Girl in the World-Prince 1994 (single release)/1995 (album release) This was indeed BEAUTIFUL. The falsetto was a bit much at times, but the sound effects made the song cool. He hasn't had a great song since. 6306. Escapade-Janet Jackson 1990 I love the "RN 1814" album a lot, but I felt this was too much like "Miss you much". The funky "Rhythm nation" and the PRETTY "Come back to me" were better. 6305. Angel of Harlem-U2 1988/89 Compared to Desire, this was nothing (but I do repect the tribute to Billie Holliday). 6304. Don't Let Go the Coat-Who 1981 Very forgotten minor hit. Don't think there was a video like 2 others on "Face Dances" (both b&w studio videos, btw). I don't think I've heard this more than a dozen times, nice midtempo pop-rock feel. 6303. Lucky-Britney Spears 2000/01 (Previous ranking 4924) Shame on you for putting this in, and not George Michael (apparently). Nuff said. 6302. Serpent is Rising-Styx 1974 My, were Styx experimental in their early years. Great underplayed classic. 6301. Never Named-Soundgarden 1996 I'll be burning "Down on the upside" shortly--If memory serves the AWESOME "Pretty noose" was top 1000, no?

Thanks, Adam. You're a gentleman and a scholar. You Decorated My Life--Kinda boring. Sounds like it could be the theme song for Trading Spaces. I Want You Back--Don't know anything by The Storm, apparantly. Fight Fire with Fire--Not too familiar with Metallica's early stuff. Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday--I've always liked this. Clever title. Everybody Hurts--Big huge favorite of mine. Love it. Danger Zone--Ugh. I change the channel or skip the song if it comes up on the radio or on one of my compilation CDs. Yes We Can Can--Like this one a lot. I was really into the Pointer Sisters at one point. War Games--Not a clue. Promise of a New Day--Ick. She's quite possibly a worse singer than Britney Spears. Roll To Me--Like the song, like the group. Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song--It's ok for what it is. Listenable. Private Dancer--Good song. I enjoy listening to it every once in awhile. Ease on Down the Road--It's all right. Nothing I'd seek out to listen to. The Most Beautiful Girl in the World--Oh gawd. I was kinda tired of Prince by this point. Escape--Can't place the title. What cd is this from, do you know? Angel of Harlem--Not much into U2. This song never did a whole lot for me. Don't Let Go the Coat--The Who had way better songs. Lucky--Yeesh. Strictly for the teeny-boppers. Serpent is Rising--Don't know it. Never Named--Only know a couple of songs by Soundgarden. This isn't one of 'em.

6320. You Decorated My Life-Kenny Rogers 1979 Eh - it's ok. I still want to see him in concert, though. Not because I'm such a huge fan, but if you can get close enough, he hands out CASH MONEY! I always thought this was an urban myth, but my cousin had 2nd row seats, and she got a Kenny Rogers tambourine AND CASH! At least $20, I dont' remember exactly how much.
6319. I Want You Back-The Storm 1991 I know nothing by these people.
6318. Fight Fire With Fire-Metallica 1984 This is not familiar to me, but with all the Metallica CD's floating around this house, I'm sure it's here somewhere.
6317. Yester-me, Yester-you, Yesterday-Stevie Wonder 1969 Not real fond of this one - a bit fluffy.
6316. Everybody Hurts-R.E.M. 1992 I LOVE this song - it really helped me through some tough times. When I was in therapy, I made a tape - one side to listen to when I was happy and one for when I was down and my threapist copies it and hands it out to other people now - this is one of the songs. The songs that are for when you're down were ones like this where it says it's ok to feel sad sometimes and you're not alone - kind of a nudge to start feeling better.
6315. Danger Zone-Kenny Loggins 1986 My dad went nuts for this movie - I don't care if I never hear it again!
6314. Yes We Can Can-Pointer Sisters 1973 Not familiar with this one.
6313. War Games-Monkees 1968/88 I'll have to dig ML V 1 out - I don't recall this one, but if it was Davy, and didn't wow me from the first second, I may very well have glossed right over it.
6312. Promise of a New Day-Paula Abdul 1991 I remember on In Living Color they routed her with this one - Promise Of A Thin Me, I think. I can't judge about the time she got a bit chubby (people in glass houses and all that stuff) but later in the routing they talk about her thin and lousy singing and the line I remember is "others do it with me". It was funny.
6311. Roll to Me-Del Amitri 1995 I really never liked this one - way too overplayed.
6310. (Hey, Won't You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song-B.J. Thomas 1975 Eh -we had it on 8-track.
6309. Private Dancer-Tina Turner 1985 This was one of my least favorites of hers and the video kinda sucked too.
6308. Ease on Down the Road-Michael Jackson & Diana Ross 1978 I didn't really care for The Wiz - I thought the story was a bit thin. Great idea but could have been done better.
6307. The Most Beautiful Girl in the World-Prince 1995 I liked this one - more poignant that he wrote it for his baby who had massive health problems - I'm not sure if she ever made it or not.
6306. Escape-Janet Jackson 1990 No thanks - I have only liked 2 Janet Jackson songs ever and this is not one.
6305. Angel of Harlem-U2 1988/89 I really like this one - a departure from their usual style.
6304. Don't Let Go the Coat-Who 1981 I'm not familiar with this one.
6303. Lucky-Britney Spears 2000/01 (Previous ranking 4924) Momentary lapse of good judgement - happens to us all - I have a big box of NKOTB stuff in my mom's basement - so does my best friend - it's worth less than half of what we paid for it.
6302. Serpent is Rising-Styx 1974 Not familiar with this one.
6301. Never Named-Soundgarden 1996 Not a Soundgarden fan.

Never Named-Soundgarden 1996 I've heard some of Soundgarden's songs, but this one doesn't sound familiar. Hey Dawn:) 6304 - Yes , it's also included on Face Dances

Just realized I never answered this one. 6320. You Decorated My Life-Kenny Rogers 1979 I do like some of his M.O.R. music, but this one never did much for me. 6319. I Want You Back-The Storm 1991 Don't know it. 6318. Fight Fire With Fire-Metallica 1984 Don't thnk I know this one. I'll have to find out where I can download it for free. ;D ;D ;D 6317. Yester-me, Yester-you, Yesterday-Stevie Wonder 1969 This, IMO, is one of Stevie's best. I think his voice was perfectly suited for this. His almost yelling to hit the high notes which would appear flawed for other singers worked very well for him here. All time top 250. 6316. Everybody Hurts-R.E.M. 1992 So-so. (other than Losing My Religion, I don't really care for them that much) 6315. Danger Zone-Kenny Loggins 1986 I never cared for this that much. Even as a soundtrack, I think Kenny did better. 6314. Yes We Can Can-Pointer Sisters 1973 The Pointers were never my fave group. I did like some of their songs a lot more than this one, however. 6313. War Games-Monkees 1968/88 Not familiar with it. 6312. Promise of a New Day-Paula Abdul 1991 Not familiar with it. 6311. Roll to Me-Del Amitri 1995 Not familiar with it. (familiar with VERY LITTLE from that time period) 6310. (Hey, Won't You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song-B.J. Thomas 1975 At the time, and if you include the paranthetical part, it was the song with the longest title to go to #1. (it surpassed Itsy Bitsy Teeny....) I think Stars On 45 (if you include all the titles) now holds the record. Anyway, enough of trivia. It's an OK song, but I have three BJ songs in my top 250, and this is not one of them. 6309. Private Dancer-Tina Turner 1985 Actually, this is probably my fave Tina song. 6308. Ease on Down the Road-Michael Jackson & Diana Ross 1978 Good idea. Continue to ease on down the road, and don't worry about that truck that's coming up behind you. Bad song, bad musical, silly concept. 6307. The Most Beautiful Girl in the World-Prince 1995 Not familiar with it 6306. Escape-Janet Jackson 1990 Once again: I can't stand Janet Jackson 6305. Angel of Harlem-U2 1988/89 Not familiar with it. (BTW, what's a "rattle and hum" single?) 6304. Don't Let Go the Coat-Who 1981 Barely remember it. 6303. Lucky-Britney Spears 2000/01 I generally don't keep abreast of her music. 6302. Serpent is Rising-Styx 1974 Not familiar with it 6301. Never Named-Soundgarden 1996 Heard of the group. but know none of their music

6319. So you are familiar with them then? 6312. I think it's the right year. 6303. I know, it's bad. But essentially, this songs are all equally bad! LOL!
