Are we having fun? ;D
6445. Sunshine-Jonathan Edwards 1971/72 This is in that group of corny early 70's songs with Seasons in the Sun and I Can See Clearly Now. You know all those Sunny songs.
6444. Israelites-Desmone Dekker & the Aces 1969 (Previous ranking 4705) Didn't know this one hit wonder until the local DJ put out his discs of hard to find songs. Early Jamaiican song, mon! Not too bad, but not as good as the other songs he included.
6443. Midnight Rider-Greg Allman 1973/74 The original with the Allman Brothers, I love, my fave from them. But he should NOT have rerecorded it by himself. Slowed it down way too much.
6442. Just to See Her-Smokey Robinson 1987 His 80's stuff was just too slow and whimpy.
6441. Fields of Gold-Sting 1993 His solo stuff, especially the later stuff, just wasn't as good as the Police stuff. Heard this song endlessly when I worked in the research department on the Adult Contemporary station.
6440. How 'Bout That?-Bad Company 1992 (Previous ranking 4279) The Brian Howe era is just worlds away from the original stuff. Too hair band sounding.
6439. No Smoke Without a Fire-Bad Company 1988 (Previous ranking 4248) These two both getting knocked down next to each other was pure coincidence. This stuff was just not up to scratch.
6438. Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want-Smiths 1984 Depression rock! LOL! The Smiths had a few I thought were ok.
6437. Source of Infection-Van Halen 1988 This Van Hagar song was WAY annoying. Some of the "lyrics" were "Ow! How bout cha now?" Clever Sammy. Have some Mas Tequila.
6436. Dreamtime-Daryl Hall 1986 A bit different from the H&O stuff. Didn't do too well without little Johnny, did he?
6435. I Won't Forget You-Poison 1987 Boy the chicks were eating this sh!t up back then, weren't they. Never big on Poison though.
6434. Subterranean Homesick Blues-Bob Dylan 1965 First appearance of Mr. Zimmerman. A better writer than singer.
6433. ...Baby, One More Time-Britney Spears 1998 (Previous ranking 4298) Please, forgive me! I was trying to be nice! This should actually be ranked much lower. But still not the absolute worst.
6432. Love to Love-Monkees 1967/82 Originally unreleased, this Neil Diamond penned tune appeared on their Rhino picture disc. NOT like Little Bit Me or I'm a Believer, that's for sure.
6431. Ready or Not-Lou Gramm 1987 Lou's big hits sounded similar to Foreigner. This one didn't so much. Have the album though.
6430. Oops, I Did it Again-Britney Spears 2000 I know, I know, I said I was sorry!! This is the last one though!
6429. Calling All Girls-Queen 1982 Ever see this video? Freaky song, freaky video! They only had a few good songs after this one.
6428. Another Day in Paradise-Phil Collins 1989 Backing vocals from David Crosby. Too slow for me. I rarely like Phil's slow stuff.
6427. Dare Me-Pointer Sisters 1985 Not up to their early hits, not that I was ever a big fan.
6426. Ask-Smiths 1987 The song about "the bomb"! Most of their hits were neither here nor there for me.
Let's hear it!

6280. Sunshine-Jonathan Edwards 1971/72 Too corny 6279. Israelites-Desmone Dekker & the Aces 1969 (Previous ranking 4705) Ooh, I've always really liked this song. You can never find it on any compilation cds. 6278. Midnight Rider-Greg Allman 1973/74 The original is way better. Good song though. 6277. Just to See Her-Smokey Robinson 1987 Yuck. 6276. Fields of Gold-Sting 1993 Not his best at all 6275. How 'Bout That?-Bad Company 1992 (Previous ranking 4279) Nope. I can only barely remember this one. 6274. No Smoke Without a Fire-Bad Company 1988 (Previous ranking 4248) I don't think I've heard this more than twice. 6273. Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want-Smiths 1984 LOVE it! An amazing melody and great lyrics. And at only 1 minute and 40 sec it's a perfect little tune. 6272. Source of Infection-Van Halen 1988 Yuck. 6271. Dreamtime-Daryl Hall 1986 I don't remember this one. 6270. I Won't Forget You-Poison 1987 This chick wasn't eating any of this up! 6269. Subterranean Homesick Blues-Bob Dylan 1965 A classic but doesn't do anything for me. 6268. ...Baby, One More Time-Britney Spears 1998 I actually [whisper voice] like this song. [/whisper voice] I know I know, I gave you grief over "Lucky" and seriously, except for this tune I think all of her other stuff sucks. 6267. Love to Love-Monkees 1967/82 Don't know it, sounds like I would like it though. 6266. Ready or Not-Lou Gramm 1987 Not my fave solo from him. 6265. Oops, I Did it Again-Britney Spears 2000 6264. Calling All Girls-Queen 1982 I like watching the video on VH1 Classics 6263. Another Day in Paradise-Phil Collins 1989 Hate this one. Although I appreciate the message of the song. 6262. Dare Me-Pointer Sisters 1985 I haven't heard this song in like 15 years. 6261. Ask-Smiths 1987 Not one of their better ones.

6280. I don't know this particular corny song.
6279. Never heard this one. I'm not big on Jamaiican music.
6278. Don't know this solo version.
6277. Never heard this one.
6276. I don't care much for Sting's solo stuff either, but I don't know this song.
6275. I don't know any so far today!
6274 - 6272. Following a pattern today, aren't I?
6271. I don't know any of Daryl Hall's solo work.
6270. Don't know it.
6269. Much better writer than singer? Agreed, although I'm not familiar with this particular tune.
6268. Before she was a ho-bag! This one's actually not that bad.
6267. Never heard it.
6266. Don't know it.
6265. I always crack up during that little speech toward the end of the song. "Aw, you shouldn't have." Again, not bad, but she had better.
6264. I've never heard this song.
6263 - 6261. Don't know these.

Yes! 6280 - I always enjoyed it I really like the sing a long vibe it has . Remember it when I was a kid and found the 45 while in high school. A buddy and I use to listen to it quite a bit. 6279 - Hear it every so often on the oldies station and it was included in a 45 collection I bought awhile back. I first heard it in the early 80's. 6278 - I have both versions - I prefer the Allman's version but the solo version is ok too - it was included on a vinyl compilation of southern rock tunes. 6277 - All his releases from this time period slipped right by me LOL 6276 - It's alright - VERY mellow though. 6275 - 6274 - There's is nothing like the classic lineup and it did take a little while to get used to a different lead singer but I have to admit that I really liked these two songs. 6273 - This was another band like Depeche Mode that other than knowing the name I never got into . A few people I knew in high school liked both bands. 6272 - LMAO ! I missed this one maybe that's a good thing! LOL 6271 - I'm sure I heard this at least a couple of times because I remember him releasing a solo album but it's been dorever since I've heard it. 6270 - Don't recall this one but I agree that the girls LOVED these guys! I remember the video's but didn't really get into them until after the fact when I discovered a couple of the songs were quite good. 6269 - Not a great voice by any means but he can sure write those songs! This is among my faves from Bob even though at times it sounds like the band is playing a different song LOL - I like the video as well with Poet Allen Ginsburg in the background. 6268 - I have to admit she's very nice to look at but that voice..... 6267 - I like the 12 string jangle and the melody . I think however that maybe Mike or Mickey could have sang it better. 6266 - Don't know it but would like to hear it. 6265 - see # 6268 6264 - I don't recall seeing the video or hearing the song. 6263 - I remember seeing Phil and Dave sing this on Arsenio Hall's Show - I liked it. 6262 - Totally missed this one. 6261 - Nope

More fun than you are... 6280. Sunshine-Jonathan Edwards 1971/72 Guilty pleasure at the least. A huge fave since toddler days. Just a simple guitar with Grade C lyrics. 6279. Israelites-Desmone Dekker & the Aces 1969 One of the late 60's best. Period. Kitty, my copy's on a MCA/One Way (very limited) "Sixties Rule!" Compilation (theare marquee with typical 60's characters--greaser, hippie, protester, etc.) 6278. Midnight Rider-Greg Allman 1973/74 I'm afraid I know this version a lot more than the original. Like 'em both. 6277. Just to See Her-Smokey Robinson 1987 Worth a listen every now and then. 6276. Fields of Gold-Sting 1993 With this song, he went downhill and hardly ever came back up. Just played his last great one earlier today, "If I ever lose my faith in you". 6275. How 'Bout That?-Bad Company 1992 (Previous ranking 4279) Talk about coincidence! One of my 3 faves with Brian Howe! 6274. No Smoke Without a Fire-Bad Company 1988 (Previous ranking 4248) This is the 2nd. Cool shouting. (This Love is my fave--Shake It Up and Walk Through Fire were passable, and I still dislike If You Needed Somebody.) 6273. Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want-Smiths 1984 I'm happy enough with Morrissey's only solo HOT 100 hit. 6272. Source of Infection-Van Halen 1988 One of the very few from OU812 I hardly played in college. 6271. Dreamtime-Daryl Hall 1986 Almost up to par with the H & O stuff. Almost at the end of a top 40 era at this point in time of music history before it was more squarely aimed for younger people. (Confused? ;D) 6270. I Won't Forget You-Poison 1987 One of my least faves of theirs. 6269. Subterranean Homesick Blues-Bob Dylan 1965 I love this! Complete with "cue cards" video! A rap tune long before Sugarhill Gang. 6268. ...Baby, One More Time-Britney Spears 1998 I actually liked this the first 3 months it was out. But this has to be one of the stupidest endings of a #1 song ever (that's imaginative Max Martin for you...) 6267. Love to Love-Monkees 1967/82 I can see Donna Summer singing this... ;D 6266. Ready or Not-Lou Gramm 1987 Not quite as good as Lou's other 3 charted hits (all top 40). 6265. Oops, I Did it Again-Britney Spears 2000 With this, all I could think was "Enough is ENOUGH!!!" I sure HOPE "Sometimes" isn't up higher (bad work memories)... I'd rather hear the parody. 6264. Calling All Girls-Queen 1982 From that Queen album many people dislike, (not me! ;D) "Hot Space. Actually, one of the weaker tracks from the album, but it's good. 6263. Another Day in Paradise-Phil Collins 1989 Same message as Kitty, but not really a strong dislike for me. 6262. Dare Me-Pointer Sisters 1985 Not in my top 10 of theirs, but still good. 6261. Ask-Smiths 1987 All I could think of was, Pete will like BOTH of the last 2! Otherwise, see message for the Smiths' other one here.

6280. Sunshine-Jonathan Edwards 1971/72 Love the great acoustic guitar work on this. Nice early 70s pop.
6279. Israelites-Desmone Dekker & the Aces 1969 (Previous ranking 4705) I heard this about 3 months ago on an oldies show, after not having heard it for years. It's okay.
6278. Midnight Rider-Greg Allman 1973/74 Both versions are great - it's hard to choose.
6277. Just to See Her-Smokey Robinson 1987 I always liked this one from Smokey.
6276. Fields of Gold-Sting 1993 I never warmed up to this one at all.
6275. How 'Bout That?-Bad Company 1992 (Previous ranking 4279) I don't think I've heard this one...
6274. No Smoke Without a Fire-Bad Company 1988 (Previous ranking 4248) ...or this. I like their 70s material, though.
6273. Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want-Smiths 1984 Not familiar with this one.
6272. Source of Infection-Van Halen 1988 The later Van Halen material was very hit and miss - this isn't a favorite.
6271. Dreamtime-Daryl Hall 1986 This is one of those songs I have to be in the mood for. Not bad, but not as good as the stuff with John.
6270. I Won't Forget You-Poison 1987 Nah - I've never been big on Poison.
6269. Subterranean Homesick Blues-Bob Dylan 1965 I agree with you about him. I like a few of his songs, but this isn't one of them.
6268. ...Baby, One More Time-Britney Spears 1998 Not my cup of tea, but probably her best song.
6267. Love to Love-Monkees 1967/82 I don't think I know this one.
6266. Ready or Not-Lou Gramm 1987 Not my favorite of his.
6265. Oops, I Did it Again-Britney Spears 2000 Nope.
6264. Calling All Girls-Queen 1982 I love Rick Springfield's version of this, but I'm not sure I've heard Queen's.
6263. Another Day in Paradise-Phil Collins 1989 I like this, but his early-mid 80s material was better.
6262. Dare Me-Pointer Sisters 1985 One of my faves of theirs! Love it!
6261. Ask-Smiths 1987 I can't quite place this one.

6264. Calling All Girls-Queen 1982 I love Rick Springfield's version of this, but I'm not sure I've heard Queen's. They are in fact different songs. Can't QUITE remember the Rick Springfield lyrics, but Queen's goes "Calling all boys, calling all girls--this message is, this message is....love..."

Initially, I wasn't gonna respond to tonight's installment, but hey--I know more songs than Lora! ;D
6280. OK, OK, it's corny, but--I LOVE THIS ONE! I can't help myself! There's a few people I've known in my life that I could sing this to.
6279. Like this one. My mom had the 45.
6278. More familiar with this version. Not bad.
6277. Not his best.
6276-6272. Don't know them.
6271. I liked this one--don't hear it anymore, though.
6270. Don't know it.
6269. Don't think I know this one--you can never tell with Mr. Dylan and his song titles. ;D
6268. Uh, no thanks.
6267. Have this one on the Listen To The Band box set. Not bad.
6266. Only know Midnight Blue.
6265. See 6268.
6264. Don't know it.
6263. Appreciate the message, but he's done better.
6262. Barely remember it.
6261. Don't know it.

6280. Sunshine-Jonathan Edwards 1971/72 One hit wonder. OK -- Nothing special.
6279. Israelites-Desmone Dekker & the Aces 1969 (Previous ranking 4705) It was OK at first, but then it started grating on me.
6278. Midnight Rider-Greg Allman 1973/74 Never cared for it.
6277. Just to See Her-Smokey Robinson 1987 OK, but not his best, by far.
6276. Fields of Gold-Sting 1993 I've never been a Sting fan. This one isn't all that bad, though.
6275. How 'Bout That?-Bad Company 1992 (Previous ranking 4279) Don't know it. 6274. No Smoke Without a Fire-Bad Company 1988 (Previous ranking 4248) Don't know this one either.
6273. Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want-Smiths 1984 Don't know it.
6272. Source of Infection-Van Halen 1988 Don't know it.
6271. Dreamtime-Daryl Hall 1986 Eh.
6270. I Won't Forget You-Poison 1987 Not that bad. Not that good either. I find a lot of Poison disappointing.
6269. Subterranean Homesick Blues-Bob Dylan 1965 Definitely a better writer than singer, but I always kinda liked this.
6268. ...Baby, One More Time-Britney Spears 1998 NO!! PLEASE!! NO!! I'll Be Good. I Promise! NOOOOOOOOO!!
6267. Love to Love-Monkees 1967/82 Don't know it.
6266. Ready or Not-Lou Gramm 1987 Don't know it.
6265. Oops, I Did it Again-Britney Spears 2000 See my response to 6268 and repeat it, only louder. ;D
6264. Calling All Girls-Queen 1982 Don't know it
6263. Another Day in Paradise-Phil Collins 1989 Some Phil -even slow Phil is not bad. This one is bad.
6262. Dare Me-Pointer Sisters 1985 Eh.
6261. Ask-Smiths 1987 Don't know it.

6274. No Smoke Without a Fire-Bad Company 1988 (Previous ranking 4248) Nor this one.

Sunshine--I LOVE this song. Lotsa childhood memories for me. Still enjoy listening to it these days. Israelites--This is a song you don't hear very often, so I kinda like listening to it every once in awhile. Midnight Rider--Cool song. I enjoy it. Just to See Her--I just didn't get into solo Smokey too much. Fields of Gold--Oh gawd. This song is so slow and boring. Almost puts me to sleep. How 'Bout That--I've always liked this. Good stuff. No Smoke Without a Fire--I've always liked this too. Please Please Please etc.--Not a clue. Source of Infection--I guess I missed this one. Never heard of it. Dreamtime--Daryl Hall had a solo career? Who knew? ;D I Won't Forget You--Yeah, I was into Poison. Liked this song a lot. Suberranean Homesick Blues--Good one. One of very few that I can tolerate from Bob. ...Baby One More Time--Probably my favorite Britney Spears song. Whatever that means. Love to Love--Don't know it. Ready or Not--I might know it if I heard it. Title's not ringing a bell, though. Oops I Did it Again--Love it! NOT! Calling All Girls--May have seen the video a few times, but I don't remember how the song goes. Another Day in Paradise--Too depressing. Dare Me--I don't think I know this song. Ask--Never heard it.

6280. Sunshine-Jonathan Edwards 1971/72 It wouldn't be so bad if it made more sense. The whole thing just kind of rambles.
6279. Israelites-Desmone Dekker & the Aces 1969 (Previous ranking 4705) Heard several different versions - it's ok.
6278. Midnight Rider-Greg Allman 1973/74 Not familiar.
6277. Just to See Her-Smokey Robinson 1987 I really like this one.
6276. Fields of Gold-Sting 1993 It's not as edgy as the Police, but I like it.
6275. How 'Bout That?-Bad Company 1992 (Previous ranking 4279) It's ok. Not great.
6274. No Smoke Without a Fire-Bad Company 1988 (Previous ranking 4248) I'm not familiar with this one.
6273. Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want-Smiths 1984 This song ROCKS! But the version I had was by someone else - I didn't know they did a version. Good to listen to when you're very depressed.
6272. Source of Infection-Van Halen 1988 Not familiar - didn't listen to them in the Hagar years.
6271. Dreamtime-Daryl Hall 1986 I liked this one - funny, but it's included on a H&O compilation I have that was imported from Sweden.
6270. I Won't Forget You-Poison 1987 Ew!
6269. Subterranean Homesick Blues-Bob Dylan 1965 This song rules! Al did a tribute song called "Bob" on his most recent album. The entire song is one palindrome after another (a phrase that reads the same back and forward ie: madam i'm adam). He even has a clever little video that mimcs the original.
6268. ...Baby, One More Time-Britney Spears 1998 HURRRLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
6267. Love to Love-Monkees 1967/82 This is the one that I said sounded somewhat like "Solitary Man" - listen to it sometime and you'll hear the similarity. Especially the area where your hear "why do I love you?" on the Monkees and "Solitary Man" on Neil's.
6266. Ready or Not-Lou Gramm 1987 I know Midnigh Blue but I don't think I know this one.
6265. Oops, I Did it Again-Britney Spears 2000 Again, HUURRRLLLL!!!!!!!!!!
6264. Calling All Girls-Queen 1982 My parents were huge Queen fans yet I don't recall this one.
6263. Another Day in Paradise-Phil Collins 1989 Eh - to preachy.
6262. Dare Me-Pointer Sisters 1985 Not familiar.
6261. Ask-Smiths 1987 Might know it if I heard it, but it doesn't ring a bell.

6280. Sunshine-Jonathan Edwards 1971/72 Nice one!
6279. Israelites-Desmone Dekker & the Aces 1969 (Previous ranking 4705) Catchy.
6278. Midnight Rider-Greg Allman 1973/74 So-so.
6277. Just to See Her-Smokey Robinson 1987 Not too bad.. After all, it's Smokey!
6276. Fields of Gold-Sting 1993 Boring..
6275. How 'Bout That?-Bad Company 1992 (Previous ranking 4279) Don't know this one, but I know the next one..
6274. No Smoke Without a Fire-Bad Company 1988 (Previous ranking 4248) Never liked it, but a bunch of my friends did. A classic band doing bad late 80's AOR rock... Sad..
6273. Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want-Smiths 1984 I love the Smiths, but this ranks LOW on my list of Smiths faves, This and "Panic"... I just can't condone the "Hanging of DJ's" (Unless, of course, they're crappy ones!)
6272. Source of Infection-Van Halen 1988 See my previous OU812 comment.
6271. Dreamtime-Daryl Hall 1986 Passable.
6270. I Won't Forget You-Poison 1987 Awful..
6269. Subterranean Homesick Blues-Bob Dylan 1965 The pump don't work 'cuz the vandals took the handle..
6268. ...Baby, One More Time-Britney Spears 1998 Ah, the naugthy schoolgirl song.... That's all I have to say...
6267. Love to Love-Monkees 1967/82 I LOVE this one, I'd rather hear it than "I'm A Believer" for the 50,000,000,000th time.
6266. Ready or Not-Lou Gramm 1987 Know the title, not the song..
6265. Oops, I Did it Again-Britney Spears 2000 UHHH, Ok.....
6264. Calling All Girls-Queen 1982 "Hot Space" album? Thought so...

Sunshine - Corny, but I liked it.
Israelites - Got this on a reggae compilation that has both good & bad. This one is somwhere in the middle.
Midnight Rider - Maybe a little slow, but still a very good song.
Songs 6270 - 6277 - Don't know them. That late 80s & 90s thing.
Subterranean Homesick Blue - Not being able to sing is part of Dylan's charm. This song isn't so bad.
Baby, One More Time - One more time, then another time, and another time, ad nausea
Love to Love - Don't where I was, this is about the fourth or fifth Monkees song I don't recognize.
Ready or Not - Don't know it.
Oops, I Did it Again - Oops, Miz Obnoxious strikes again.
6261 - 6264 - Don't remember these. Probably know the Queen & Phil Collins, just can't place them.

6279. That was part of the reason the DJ here included the song-since it is hard to find on disc. 6270. Oh you were eating it up like candy! 6268. See??
