While I have your attention, go to the Everybody's Talkin' board and check out my post about a game suggestion for here!
Thanks!!
6220. Damage Inc.-Metallica 1986
One of the lesser cuts on what I consider Metallica's best album. (NOT the black album or Load, or Reload or Unload or Dump a Load....)
6219. The Way it is-Bruce Hornsy & the Range 1986
Have gone back and forth several times over this one. Hated it at first, then warmed up to it, then got annoyed by the piano on it.
6218. Wild Boys-Duran Duran 1984
This was just not a guy group. We made fun of them. But some songs were decent. This one wasn't awful.
6217. Woman is the N!gger of the World-John Lennon 1972
I remembered to self edit here so it wouldn't come out "Woman is the black person of the World." Again, in these PC days, this song would never be understood. Like Pat Benatar's Hell is For Children, it has a nasty title, but both songs are in favor of who they are singing about. Never heard this on the radio myself.
6216. We're in This Love Together-Al Jarreau 1981
Normally the type of song that would annoy me, and it does, but not as bad as similar sounding songs.
6215. The Most Beautiful Girl in the World-Charlie Rich 1973
As I was typing this, I was thinking, "Didn't we review this Prince song already?" Well this song is CERTAINLY better than that!
6214. Spanish Fly-Van Halen
Nice guitar work from Eddie, but too damn short to get a great ranking.
6213. Abraham, Martin & John-Dion 1968
Dion gets political. If he hadn't, I don't know that he'd be charting in this time period. Not as good as his best early stuff.
6212. Lay Down Sally-Eric Clapton 1978
Never liked this one. Too corny & hillbilly sounding. EC's worst songs seemed to be his biggest hits.
6211. Outshined-Soundgarden 1991
Die hards call this their best stuff. I liked their later more psychedelic sounding stuff. Didn't know this til years after it was out.
6210. Blaze of Glory-Jon Bon Jovi 1990
If the solo career doesn't work, try acting. This may as well have been a Bon Jovi song. Most people probably think it is. Never liked it much.
6209. I Shot the Sheriff-Eric Clapton 1974
See 6212. Never liked this.
6208. Only You (And You Alone)-Platters 1955
Just not the type of stuff I dig. Pleasant enough, I suppose.
6207. In the Raw-The Storm 1991
Poor Greg Rolie. Trying so hard to be cool in 91, he sings this song about a chick that walks around wearing nothing but cowboy boots. Very dorky.
6206. Honey-Mariah Carey 1997
I suppose this coulda dropped on the chart. I think this is her last appearance on here. Yay!
6205. As Long as You Follow-Fleetwood Mac 1988/89
This was the end for the Mac. Lindsay was gone, and they recorded two new songs without him for the Greatest Hits. This was put out as a single. The other, NOT released as a single, No Questions Asked, was WAY better. (Stevie song, no surprise)
6204. Built to Last-Tom Petty 1991
I think I first heard this on a televised concert. Not bad, but by 91, his stuff wasn't as good as his prime stuff.
6203. Body Talk-Ratt 1986
One of their lesser singles. Overall, I like Ratt, but this wasn't as good.
6202. I'm Leaving it All up to You-Dale & Grace 1963
Lightweight stuff. Never really hear it on oldies radio these days.
6201. Beyond the Sea-Bobby Darin 1960
I'm sure back then adults thought this song was ok. Darin was cool. This song is nice.
Let's hear it!
Thanks!!
