Looks like we got 12 people commited to the trivia game-6 guys, 6 girls. Boys vs girls?? No, seriously, we'll have to figure out a way to divide it up, 3 of each on each team. Suggestions are welcome, I'd like to start Monday! 6180. Me and Julio Down By the School Yard-Paul Simon 1972 I'd say overall I like Paul solo better than with Garfunkel, but this song just annoys me. 6179. Take Me Away-The Storm 1991 Another appearance by the dreaded Storm! This was a typical rock ballad of the time. 6178. Theme From Shaft-Issac Hayes 1971 Ok, but nothing special to me. Don't really remember it growing up. 6177. You're Sixteen-Johnny Burnette 1960 Prefer Ringo's cover-it has more "umph" to it. 6176. One Step Beyond-Madness 1979 Essentially an instrumental, except for every so often when the singer shouts "ONE STEP BEYOND". Got a fair amount of MTV play. 6175. D.W. Washburn-Monkees 1968 The first single after the show was cancelled. (Thanks Pete-don't know why I screwed that up!) The first A side to fail to crack the top 10-with good reason. Totally different than the Monkees signature sound, big time. 6174. Tora! Tora!-Van Halen 1980 Very short instrumental whose name inspired a late 80's metal band. 6173. The Wind Cries Mary-Jimi Hendrix 1967 Never thought much of this, and couldn't understand it when it started getting classic rock play. Too slow. 6172. I'll Be There For You-Bon Jovi 1989 Although I liked their earlier stuff, I had pretty much regulated them to being a "chick act" at this point. Heard this a handful of times. 6171. Vanishing-Bryan Adams 1991 I was dating a girl who was into Bryan Adams at the time, so I heard more than the hits on this one. This was one of the better album cuts. 6170. You Can Call Me Al-Paul Simon 1986/87 Come on, say it with me-ANNOYING. Never understood this one. 6169. The Confessor-Joe Walsh 1985 Never knew this until about 5 years ago, when several guys made it out to being the holy grail. Not even in his top 5, IMO. Gimmie At the Station ANY day. 6168. Get Closer-Linda Ronstadt 1982 So surprised this didn't crack the top 30! I heard it lots back then. 6167. Just as I Am-Air Supply 1985 I believe this is the first appearance of the Supply, no? Total chick act, but their best lite rock stuff is better than the lite stuff of today! 6166. Tommy, Can You Hear Me-The Who 1969 From the legendary Tommy album/opera. Doesn't really get classic rock play by itself. 6165. Finish What You Started-Van Halen 1988 Always annoyed me. From the minute I had the album. And the guys were trying to be "fashionable" in the video. Give it up guys. 6164. It Keeps You Runnin'-Doobie Brothers 1976/77 Wasn't big on the McDonald years, but this was better than the 79 hits, IMO. 6163. Seventeen-Winger 1989 Didn't know it then, know it more from the different metal compilation CD commercials. 6162. Show Me-Pretenders 1984 Just saw the video the other day. After Farndon and Honeyman-Scott died, they got too lightweight for me. 6161. Sara-Starship 1985/86 Yeesh. We Built This City was better than this. My dad LOVES this for some reason. Video is easier to take, with Rebecca DeMorney in it. Let's hear it!

6180. Me and Julio Down By the School Yard-Paul Simon 1972 A good one. It's been getting a lot of play lately. 6179. Take Me Away-The Storm 1991 How many more do we have to endure? Just kidding. 6178. Theme From Shaft-Issac Hayes 1971 Shut yo mouth! It's almost a novelty song these days, but I love the melody. 6177. You're Sixteen-Johnny Burnette 1960 I like Ringo's cover better too, but in general this just doesn't do anything for me. 6176. One Step Beyond-Madness 1979 Love it! 6175. D.W. Washburn-Monkees 1968 Not familiar at all 6174. Tora! Tora!-Van Halen 1980 Don't recall this one. I've probably heard it but didn't know the name. 6173. The Wind Cries Mary-Jimi Hendrix 1967 When I was into Hendrix I liked this one, now I can't stand it. 6172. I'll Be There For You-Bon Jovi 1989 I loved this song at the time. It's now a guilty pleasure for me 6171. Vanishing-Bryan Adams 1991 Don't remember this one 6170. You Can Call Me Al-Paul Simon 1986/87 Totally annoying. My mom loves it though. 6169. The Confessor-Joe Walsh 1985 Not his best 6168. Get Closer-Linda Ronstadt 1982 This wasn't a top 20 song? Anyway, she's done much better 6167. Just as I Am-Air Supply 1985 Not one of my faves by them 6166. Tommy, Can You Hear Me-The Who 1969 I like this one actually. 6165. Finish What You Started-Van Halen 1988 I actually really like this one. Maybe one of the only ones from this era that I like 6164. It Keeps You Runnin'-Doobie Brothers 1976/77 A great one. 6163. Seventeen-Winger 1989 I loved this back then, now I could take or leave it. 6162. Show Me-Pretenders 1984 Not bad, not their best 6161. Sara-Starship 1985/86 Oy, not good.

6180. Me and Julio Down By the School Yard-Paul Simon 1972 I prefer S&G to solo Paul most of the time. This song annoys me too. I say put him in "the house of detention" and leave him there. LOL.
6179. Take Me Away-The Storm 1991 Don't know it.
6178. Theme From Shaft-Issac Hayes 1971 Good instrumental, but not so good as to become a classic - and I think it has, to a degree. Shut Yo' Mouth!
6177. You're Sixteen-Johnny Burnette 1960 I gotta go with this original. Adam. This song is SUPPOSED to be a teenage song. Johnny's was, Ringo's wasn't. -- And what's up with "out of my dreams into my CAR" ?? It's supposed to be ARMS.
6176. One Step Beyond-Madness 1979 I'd never of heard of this except I was trying to download an exerpt from the theme from the '50s TV show "One Step Beyond" for a Halloween party last year. I kept getting hits on the Madness tune. Didn't really care for it. ` 6175. D.W. Washburn-Monkees 1968 Totally different from the typical Monkees, but I like it anyway. The song was written by Leiber and Stoller who wrote a lot of great hits for Elvis, The Drifters, Dion, The Coasters, and Ben E. King among others.
6174. Tora! Tora!-Van Halen 1980 Don't know it.
6173. The Wind Cries Mary-Jimi Hendrix 1967 Only heard it a few times and wasn't overly excited.
6172. I'll Be There For You-Bon Jovi 1989 I kinda like this one. Actually, as I've said, I like a lot of Bon Jovi's music.
6171. Vanishing-Bryan Adams 1991 Don't know it.
6170. You Can Call Me Al-Paul Simon 1986/87 I don't understand it either, but it's kinda catchy. I like this one.
6169. The Confessor-Joe Walsh 1985 Don't know it.
6168. Get Closer-Linda Ronstadt 1982 Only remember it vaguely. Don't think I cared for it.
6167. Just as I Am-Air Supply 1985 I thought for a minute you meant their first hit, but I guess you mean the first time on the Insane List. It was close to their last hit. I generally like their music, but this one was not among my faves.
6166. Tommy, Can You Hear Me-The Who 1969 I like other songs from Tommy a lot more.
6165. Finish What You Started-Van Halen 1988 So-so
6164. It Keeps You Runnin'-Doobie Brothers 1976/77 Don't remember this.
6163. Seventeen-Winger 1989 Don't know it.
6162. Show Me-Pretenders 1984 Remember it only slightly. Didn''t care for it.
6161. Sara-Starship 1985/86 Sorry guys, I like the Starship as much as the Airplane. This isn't top 250, but it's not bad at all.

Sorry. I'm really busy so I'm gonna make this fast.
6180 - 6179. Don't know 'em.
6178. This one kind of gets on my nerves. I never really liked it. Maybe if he sang instead of spoke...
6177 - 6161. Wow! Don't know any of these!

6180. Me and Julio Down By the School Yard-Paul Simon 1972 Not bad...
6179. Take Me Away-The Storm 1991 Don't know it..
6178. Theme From Shaft-Issac Hayes 1971 Classic!
6177. You're Sixteen-Johnny Burnette 1960 I know Ringo's remake better.
6176. One Step Beyond-Madness 1979 "Hey You!! Don't watch that, watch this!!" Love this one!
6175. D.W. Washburn-Monkees 1968 First single after the show was canceled, not the breakup. I never cared too much for this one. Several later Monkees songs deserved to be bigger hits than this, that didn't even go top-40!
6174. Tora! Tora!-Van Halen 1980 Wasn't this just a couple of whooshes and feedback?
6173. The Wind Cries Mary-Jimi Hendrix 1967 Tired of it..
6172. I'll Be There For You-Bon Jovi 1989 No, not Bon Jovi! I like AIR SUPPLY BETTER!
6171. Vanishing-Bryan Adams 1991 No, not Bryan Adams! I like AIR SUPPLY BETTER!!
6170. You Can Call Me Al-Paul Simon 1986/87 No, not Paul Simon!! I like AIR SUPPLY BETTER!
6169. The Confessor-Joe Walsh 1985 (Got AOR play in Boston in spring '85, I like it, but haven't heard it since).
6168. Get Closer-Linda Ronstadt 1982 (This one makes me think of toothpaste commercials).
6167. Just as I Am-Air Supply 1985 NO, NOT AIR SUPPLY!! Oh, nevermind... I actually like this one!
6166. Tommy, Can You Hear Me-The Who 1969 (Short segue piece, nothing special).
6165. Finish What You Started-Van Halen 1988 (One of the better Van Hagar cuts).
6164. It Keeps You Runnin'-Doobie Brothers 1976/77 (Good, but the intro sounds like it was played on a cheap casio keyboard).
6163. Seventeen-Winger 1989 (Never liked them).
6162. Show Me-Pretenders 1984 (I do like this one).
6161. Sara-Starship 1985/86 (Don't like this one).

6180 - I thought it was kind of cool , I remember hearing it in the 70's. 6179 - Not familiar 6178 - Great instrumentation - has one of longest intro's. 6177 - I prefer Ringo's as well. 6176 - Don't know it , I didn't realize they had hit's this early. 6175 - I knew about the song for awhile before I heard it in the early 80's when I was listening to a Monkees radio special. 6174 - Part of it reminds me very much of Hendrix . I remember my brother buying the album. 6173 - This has always been a fave. 6172 - Thought it was alright but I liked tunes like Bad Medicine more. 6171 - Among my faves from the Waking Up The Neigbors album - I saw Bryan on this tour. 6170 - It was kind of annoying , but I liked the video with Chevy Chase. 6169 - The only song from this album I'm familiar with is Rosewood Bitters which I really like. 6168 - Linda Really belts it out! I also heard this quite a bit at the time. 6167 - Don't remember this one. 6166- I like this as well. I also like the video clip shown in The Kids Are Alright. 6165 - I liked this one very much as well . I liked Eddie's guitar sound - not as heavy as it usually was - not that there is in anything wrong with that Cute girl in the video too. 6164 - A good one I like the tempo changes. 6163 - The only one I know - LOL yup and I have it on an 80's metal compilation. 6162 - I really liked Martin Chambers drumming. 6161-This is one I never grew tired of and still like today even though it was really played alot.

6180. Me and Julio Down By the School Yard-Paul Simon 1972 I like most Paul solo songs, but I've never cared for this much. LOL at H2's suggestion about the "house of detention'!
6179. Take Me Away-The Storm 1991 I don't think I know any of Storm's songs.
6178. Theme From Shaft-Issac Hayes 1971 I always thought this sounded a few years ahead of its time. Great 70s soul.
6177. You're Sixteen-Johnny Burnette 1960 I'm with you - Ringo's cover was better.
6176. One Step Beyond-Madness 1979 I don't remember this too well, but I know I've heard it.
6175. D.W. Washburn-Monkees 1968 Nope, I never liked this - too different from their other material.
6174. Tora! Tora!-Van Halen 1980 Another one I know I've heard, but can't recall offhand.
6173. The Wind Cries Mary-Jimi Hendrix 1967 Just heard this a few days ago. It's okay, but one of my lesser Jimi faves.
6172. I'll Be There For You-Bon Jovi 1989 Okay, but I'm more partial to their earlier songs.
6171. Vanishing-Bryan Adams 1991 I don't know this one.
6170. You Can Call Me Al-Paul Simon 1986/87 This is another Paul solo that I don't really like much. The video with Chevy Chase is kinda cute, though.
6169. The Confessor-Joe Walsh 1985 Don't know this one.
6168. Get Closer-Linda Ronstadt 1982 I always liked this one from Linda. I have the 45, but it's been ages since I've heard it on the radio.
6167. Just as I Am-Air Supply 1985 Good one from them. I don't remember hearing it that often back in the day.
6166. Tommy, Can You Hear Me-The Who 1969 Another I know I've heard, but can't place.
6165. Finish What You Started-Van Halen 1988 They were definitely past their prime by this point.
6164. It Keeps You Runnin'-Doobie Brothers 1976/77 I love this - one of their best McDonald-era cuts!
6163. Seventeen-Winger 1989 Nah - not really a Winger fan.
6162. Show Me-Pretenders 1984 My favorite from Learning to Crawl. Brings back a lot of memories.
6161. Sara-Starship 1985/86 I like this more now than I did then. Still not as good as their 70s stuff, though.

Me & Juilo - Good song
Take Me Away - Don't know it
Shaft - Great song
Your Sixteen - Like this and Ringo's cover
One Step Beyond - Madness was kind of a bizarre group with some bizarre songs, this being one of them. It was ok.
6174 & 6175 - Don't know
Wind Cries Mary - Pretty good song, maybe a little slow.
I'll Be There for You - Maybe my least favorite song by Bon Jovi
6170 & 6171 - Don't Know
The Confessor - Not his best, but not bad
Get Closer - Not one of my Linda Ronstadt favorites.
Just As I Am - Don't remember it, didn't know Air Supply was still together in 1985.
Tommy Can You Hear Me - There are some songs on the Tommy soundtrack that sound great individually, while others need to be heard within the confines of the soundtrack. This is not a great individual track
Finish What You Started - Don't know it.
It Keeps You Running - Was kind of hoping this was just a fad for the Doobs, but it wasn't.
6162 & 6263 - Don't know or don't remember
Sara - Way overplayed, but really not a bad song.

[glow=red,2,300]6180. Me and Julio Down By the School Yard-Paul Simon 1972 This song is not one of my favorites, either. I saw the video to it on VH1 classic once too.
6179. Take Me Away-The Storm 1991 I don't think I have heard this song.
6178. Theme From Shaft-Issac Hayes 1971 A pretty cool song.
6177. You're Sixteen-Johnny Burnette 1960 I haven't heard this one.
6176. One Step Beyond-Madness 1979 Nor this one.
6175. D.W. Washburn-Monkees 1968 Nor this one.
6174. Tora! Tora!-Van Halen 1980 I've never been too big on this song.
6173. The Wind Cries Mary-Jimi Hendrix 1967 This song is okay, I guess. Not my favorite Hendrix song.
6172. I'll Be There For You-Bon Jovi 1989 I've never been really big on Bon Jovi, and I really don't care for this song.
6171. Vanishing-Bryan Adams 1991 I've never been too wild about Bryan Adams either.
6170. You Can Call Me Al-Paul Simon 1986/87 I kinda like this song. It is a lot better than some of the other songs on the Graceland album anyway.
6169. The Confessor-Joe Walsh 1985 I haven't heard this song.
6168. Get Closer-Linda Ronstadt 1982 I haven't heard this song. 6167. Just as I Am-Air Supply 1985 I've never liked Air Supply that much. I don't really like this song either.

6165. Finish What You Started-Van Halen 1988 Nor this one.
6164. It Keeps You Runnin'-Doobie Brothers 1976/77 It's on the Forrest Gump soundtrack, and I always skip it...the Doobie Brothers tend to annoy me.
6163. Seventeen-Winger 1989 I haven't heard this song yet.
6162. Show Me-Pretenders 1984 Nor this one.
6161. Sara-Starship 1985/86 I don't like this song at all. [/glow]

Me and Julio...Pretty good song. Childhood memories. Take Me Away--Not familiar. Theme from Shaft--My mom always liked this song. Kinda funny listening to her sing along to it. You're Sixteen--I'm more familiar with Ringo's version. One Step Beyond--Great tune! D.W. Washburn--The Monkees sure did have some odd sounding titles for their songs. I'm not familiar with this. Tora Tora--It's been a long time since I've heard this. Nothin' special. The Wind Cries Mary--Not the greatest by Jimi. I'll Be There For You--Like this one a lot. Love the lyrics, for some reason. Vanishing--No clue. You Can Call Me Al--Pretty good. Love the video to this. The Confessor--Oh gawd. BORING! Get Closer--Love it. Loved the whole "Get Closer" album. Wasn't this song used in a Close Up toothpaste commercial? Just as I Am--Never heard it. Tommy, Can You Hear Me--I will forever associate this now with Rosie O'Donnell's talk show. ;D Finish What You Started--Like it. I believe this was used as the theme song for the short lived Valerie Bertinelli sitcom "Sydney". It Keeps You Runnin'--Not bad. Tolerable. Seventeen--A favorite of mine by Kip and the boys. Show Me--Good one, but the Pretenders had way better. Sara--It's ok. Nothing I'd seek out to listen to.

6176. I forgot about that line! 6175. Thanks for the correction. I meant that, but typed the wrong thing! LOL!

6180 - I thought it was kind of cool , I remember hearing it in the 70's. 6179 - Not familiar 6178 - Great instrumentation - has one of longest intro's. 6177 - I prefer Ringo's as well. 6176 - Don't know it , I didn't realize they had it's this early. 6167 - Don't remember thos one. 6161-This is one I never grew tired of and still like today evemn though it was really played alot. 6171. Surprised you didn't see The Storm then-they opened for him on that tour when I saw him! (Maybe only on the US leg of the tour??) 6165. Yes, that part of the video was VERY nice.
