Ok, here we go!
6160. Velcro Fly-ZZ Top 1986 To say the least, a silly song. Actually overall, I never dug the MTV video years of ZZ.
6159. My Hometown-Bruce Springsteen 1985/86 I have the 45-for Santa Claus is Comin' to Town on the flip! Had the album before this was a single and never thought much of it.
6158. Long, Long Way to Go-Phil Collins 1985 Album cut from my fave album by Phil. Background vocals from Sting & Peter Gabriel. Too slow and boring though. Was surprised when I saw a radio station playlist and this, of all the album cuts, was on it.
6157. Rumble Seat-John Mellencamp 1986 One of the later singles from the Scarecrow album. Doesn't measure up to Small Town.
6156. Walking on the Moon-Police 1979 This song is just kindof......there. Nothing special about it.
6155. War-Edwin Starr 1970 Never dug either version of this song. Too annoying.
6154. Respect Yourself-Staple Singers 1971 This probably would have gotten a better ranking had I not associated it with Bruce Willis so much!
6153. Big Love-Fleetwood Mac 1987 Such a BAD song on an otherwise good album. The video is too much to take too.
6152. Shattered Dreams-Johnny Hates Jazz 1988 MTV era new wave wannabes. Played too much back then.
6151. Live to Tell-Madonna 1986 I had basically liked all Madonna's stuff up til then. This song is too dreary and she looked awful in the video.
6150. Bad Man-Bad Company 1988 (Previous ranking 4372) Just fruity. They shouldn't have bothered without Paul.
6149. Lucille-Kenny Rogers 1977 Yee-haw! A bit too much hillbilly in his voice for me.
6148. No Surrender-Bruce Springsteen 1984 One of the few album cuts I DIDN'T dig on this album.
6147. Every Rose Has it's Thorn-Poison 1988 Another obligatory "lighter" song from these pretty boys.
6146. Wildflower-Skylark 1973 Remember this more from recent years on the now defunct 70's station.
6145. Creep-TLC 1994 One of three artists to have a song with this title in this time period. STP's song is better.
6144. When Love and Hate Collide-Def Leppard 1995 (Previous ranking 5042) The new song on their Greatest Hits. I remember them being blasted, people saying this would end up on Lite stations.
6143. War (Live)-Bruce Springsteen 1984 No surprise this landed so close to the original (not planned either, just ended up that way). This gets the edge because I was into Bruce and had the box set.
6142. (Can't Live Without Your) Love and Affection-Nelson 1990 So funny how just because they had long hair they ended up in metal magazines! Wonder what Lars Ulrich thinks of them?
6141. I Want You-Savage Garden 1997 (Previous ranking 4979) I remember someone on MTV saying they were misnamed. With a name like "Savage" and then Garden (makes one think of Soundgarden), you'd think they were metal or grunge stars. My wife liked this at the time, that was how I heard it.
Have at it!

Not knowing a bunch of these songs seems to be becoming more regular. I'm sure it'll change when you get to a block of 1950s songs. 6160. Velcro Fly-ZZ Top 1986 Don't know the song 6159. My Hometown-Bruce Springsteen 1985/86 I have this on cassette. It's OK, but not even close to my Bruce faves. 6158. Long, Long Way to Go-Phil Collins 1985 Don't know it. 6157. Rumble Seat-John Mellencamp 1986 Heard it only a couple of times. Not impressed. 6156. Walking on the Moon-Police 1979 Don't know it. 6155. War-Edwin Starr 1970 An instant classic. Will ALWAYS be played as long as there are --- Wars. R.I.P., Edwin 6154. Respect Yourself-Staple Singers 1971 I lump the Staples Singers with Sly and The Family Stone and Sister Sledge as 70s soul groups whose name begin with "S" and have something of a family orientation. (Now THERE'S a category. ;D This is not a bad song. 6153. Big Love-Fleetwood Mac 1987 Wasn't listening that much in '87. I know I know this song, but I can't place it. 6152. Shattered Dreams-Johnny Hates Jazz 1988 Heard of the group, but don't know their music 6151. Live to Tell-Madonna 1986 Again, I need to have someone hum a few bars. 6150. Bad Man-Bad Company 1988 (Previous ranking 4372) Don't know it. 6149. Lucille-Kenny Rogers 1977 Far from his best, but it's one of those catchy tunes that you find yourself humming when you think no one is around, and you wind up embarassing yourself. 6148. No Surrender-Bruce Springsteen 1984 Don't know it 6147. Every Rose Has it's Thorn-Poison 1988 I enjoy some of the hair bands' ballads. But Poison is missing something. I just don't like them. 6146. Wildflower-Skylark 1973 Best on the chart today! All time Top 250 for this one-hit wonder. I love the way this song was put together. Great vocals, great instrumental parts also. (lyrics are a little corny, but I don't mind) 6145. Creep-TLC 1994 Don't know it. 6144. When Love and Hate Collide-Def Leppard 1995 Don't know it. 6143. War (Live)-Bruce Springsteen 1984 Don't care for it. 6142. (Can't Live Without Your) Love and Affection-Nelson 1990 When I first read this I thought you had misspelled Nilsson, and the song was Without You. I don't know this one. 6141. I Want You-Savage Garden 1997 (Previous ranking 4979) Don't know it. So on these 20, I'm 7-13.

6160 - My cousin loved this song at the time. I thought Afterburner was a good album - it took a bit of time to grow on me and I do have the cassette. I thought Eliminator was better all around.
6159 - I loved this back then and played the album lots. A nice ballad from Bruuuuuce.
6158 - I agree Adam - An excellent record but this is my least favorite track.
6157 - A nice bit of pop/rock from John and a big fave from Scarecrow. I also have the 45.
6156 - I like the echo delay on the rim shots - nice drumming from Stewart.
6155 - Among my favorites from '70.
6154 - Bruce - oh nooo ! LOL It is still a fave ( not by Bruce but by The Staple Singers).
6153 - This is by far the worst Fleetwood Mac song , terrible. What was Lindsey thinking.
6152 - I don't really mind it . I 've just recently re discovered it.
6151 - I only like a couple of her tunes and this isn't one of them.
6150 - Don't know it.
6149 - This was everywhere. I remember hearing this at our family reunions back then.
6148 - Still like it
6147 - Yeah I thought it was a good tune . A guy I worked with at the time LOVED it.
6146 - My brother had (has) the album and played it quite a bit back in the 70's. Very nice ballad , I have it on 45 and CD.
6145 - Yuck!
6144 - Another one of those "lighter" songs . I liked it.
6143 - Thought he did a great job - I also have the box and I remember the video recieving alot of play.
6142 - That is odd - I think I remember seeing them in a couple of the metal mags at the time.
6141 - I thought it was alright - nothing special - but probably better than alot of other tunes out at the time.

6160. I can only guess what this song is about... 6159. Don't know it. 6158. Never heard this one before. 6157 - 6156. ? 6155. War is the theme song for one of my favorite TV shows (the "brilliant but cancelled" Family Law). I'm not sure which version it was the served as the theme though. Whichever it was is the one I like best though. 6154. I've never actually heard this one. 6153. Wow, a bad tune from Fleetwood Mac? I have to hear this one! 6152. Ooo, I like this song. Never knew who sang it though! 6151. Ugh. One of her absolute worst songs. 6150. Don't know it. 6149. Once again with the Kenny Rogers? Ew, ew, ew! 6148. Not familiar with it. 6147. Nice one. My favorite from this hair band. 6146. Don't know it. 6145. Love it! T-Boz's voice is fabulous on this song. 6144. Don't know it. 6143. I've heard his version...not bad, I guess. 6142. I actually like this song, but it's the only one by them I know, LOL. 6141. It's so fun trying to keep up with this song! I've always liked this one. It's one of their better ones, I think.

6160. Velcro Fly-ZZ Top 1986 Catchy song from a great album.
6159. My Hometown-Bruce Springsteen 1985/86 This is one of my lesser faves from him.
6158. Long, Long Way to Go-Phil Collins 1985 I have No Jacket Required, but can't place this one offhand. I'll have to get the tape out and have a listen.
6157. Rumble Seat-John Mellencamp 1986 I don't remember this well from back in the day. It's good, but not his best.
6156. Walking on the Moon-Police 1979 This is one I tend to forget about. Pretty good.
6155. War-Edwin Starr 1970 A classic.
6154. Respect Yourself-Staple Singers 1971 I like this version better than Bruce Willis' (although, actually, his was the version I heard first).
6153. Big Love-Fleetwood Mac 1987 Oh no - I love this one! It always reminds me of going to Massachusetts in June 1987.
6152. Shattered Dreams-Johnny Hates Jazz 1988 A big fave of mine from the late 80s - their followup 'I Don't Want to Be a Hero' is great, too.
6151. Live to Tell-Madonna 1986 I didn't like this much at first, but it's grown on me.
6150. Bad Man-Bad Company 1988 (Previous ranking 4372) I don't think I know this one.
6149. Lucille-Kenny Rogers 1977 Heard this a lot growing up - my parents had the album. I like it.
6148. No Surrender-Bruce Springsteen 1984 A good one from The Boss.
6147. Every Rose Has it's Thorn-Poison 1988 I never really warmed up to this - it's okay.
6146. Wildflower-Skylark 1973 I first heard this on a 70s compilation cassette I bought in 1986. Nicely done.
6145. Creep-TLC 1994 I don't know it.
6144. When Love and Hate Collide-Def Leppard 1995 (Previous ranking 5042) I've probably heard this, but can't place it.
6143. War (Live)-Bruce Springsteen 1984 No - Edwin's version was better.
6142. (Can't Live Without Your) Love and Affection-Nelson 1990 I remember seeing them on the music magazines at the time, but can't recall the song.
6141. I Want You-Savage Garden 1997 (Previous ranking 4979) I've just recently become acquainted with some of their stuff. It's okay.

6160. Velcro Fly-ZZ Top 1986 One of their better 80's songs. 6159. My Hometown-Bruce Springsteen 1985/86 The album was out for TWO YEARS when they made this a single. By then I was sick of him! 6158. Long, Long Way to Go-Phil Collins 1985 Never heard it. 6157. Rumble Seat-John Mellencamp 1986 Never heard it. 6156. Walking on the Moon-Police 1979 I like it. 6155. War-Edwin Starr 1970 "Twenty-five Miles" is WAY better! 6154. Respect Yourself-Staple Singers 1971 No Bruno, THIS is the version to own 6153. Big Love-Fleetwood Mac 1987 What's everyone got against this song? I like it. 6152. Shattered Dreams-Johnny Hates Jazz 1988 Good tune, follow-up was good too. I never bought the album, though. 6151. Live to Tell-Madonna 1986 I always liked this one. I think this is one of her BETTER songs! 6150. Bad Man-Bad Company 1988 (Previous ranking 4372) Never owned this, had friends that did.. 6149. Lucille-Kenny Rogers 1977 First Edition all the way! 6148. No Surrender-Bruce Springsteen 1984 Not familiar 6147. Every Rose Has it's Thorn-Poison 1988 "just like every hair band, sings a bad, bad song...." 6146. Wildflower-Skylark 1973 Great Blue-eyed soul. 6145. Creep-TLC 1994 6144. When Love and Hate Collide-Def Leppard 1995 (Previous ranking 5042) Heard of it, never heard it.. 6143. War (Live)-Bruce Springsteen 1984 Nah.. 6142. (Can't Live Without Your) Love and Affection-Nelson 1990 Double nah.. 6141. I Want You-Savage Garden 1997 (Previous ranking 4979) eh...

6160. Velcro Fly-ZZ Top 1986 LOVED this LOTS since getting "Afterburner" for Xmas '85. Still love it today; eternal top 1000.
6159. My Hometown-Bruce Springsteen 1985/86 On the other hand; not one of my huge faves from Xmas '85. Every other song from USA's better; and I LOVE "Santa Claus".
6158. Long, Long Way to Go-Phil Collins 1985 I tried to not play too much solo Phil in college; not real familiar with this.
6157. Rumble Seat-John Mellencamp 1986 Absolutely great; almost a tie for my 2nd fave from Scarecrow.
6156. Walking on the Moon-Police 1979 True reggae; hardly rock. Not bad.
6155. War-Edwin Starr 1970 Will SOMEONE PLEASE drop the bomb on Saddam ALREADY!!!!!
6154. Respect Yourself-Staple Singers 1971 Great one.
6153. Big Love-Fleetwood Mac 1987 My fave of theirs since "Hold Me".
6152. Shattered Dreams-Johnny Hates Jazz 1988 Still great.
6151. Live to Tell-Madonna 1986 #1 almost strictly on her popularity. Hardly aged in 17 1/2 years.
6150. Bad Man-Bad Company 1988 (Previous ranking 4372) Not very familiar with it.
6149. Lucille-Kenny Rogers 1977 Great, but still not his best.
6148. No Surrender-Bruce Springsteen 1984 Not bad, but likewise one of my lesser faves from USA.
6147. Every Rose Has it's Thorn-Poison 1988 Just knew this had to hit #1; MONTHS before it hit the chart. Not real crazy for it still.
6146. Wildflower-Skylark 1973 A solid fave since childhood. GREAT guitar and SUPER vocals from Donny Gerard.
6145. Creep-TLC 1994 Sorry--STP's my least fave of those 3. Radiohead isn't bad, and this is good, loved it when it was big, but don't play it much today.
6144. When Love and Hate Collide-Def Leppard 1995 (Previous ranking 5042) I hardly ever listen to their last 3 HOT 100 hits; in fact I prefer some of their newer stuff like "Work it out" and "Promises".
6143. War (Live)-Bruce Springsteen 1984 Good, but no one beats Edwin.
6142. (Can't Live Without Your) Love and Affection-Nelson 1990 It took like, FIVE years for a second album (no surprise, a bomb). The "After the rain" album's not bad, but it's hardly aged well.
6141. I Want You-Savage Garden 1997 (Previous ranking 4979) My forever fave of these 20. From pop music's last great year. SOLID retro-pop rock, almost good dance floor material! All subsequent efforts forever molded them as a modern Air Supply, and that seemed to shy away the more serious fans of the song--a shame. Eternal top 500.

6157. Rumble Seat-John Mellencamp 1986 Nor this one.

6155. War-Edwin Starr 1970 This is a pretty cool song. Good to blast on anyway.

6152. Shattered Dreams-Johnny Hates Jazz 1988 This song is all right, if it is the one I think it is.
6151. Live to Tell-Madonna 1986 I've never really liked Madonna in general, and I don't really care for this song.

6145. Creep-TLC 1994 Nor this one.
6144. When Love and Hate Collide-Def Leppard 1995 (Previous ranking 5042) Nor this one.
6143. War (Live)-Bruce Springsteen 1984 I haven't heard this version but I can't seem to imagine a version by Bruce Springsteen.
6142. (Can't Live Without Your) Love and Affection-Nelson 1990 I haven't heard this one.
6141. I Want You-Savage Garden 1997 (Previous ranking 4979) I don't like this one very much. [/glow]

Velcro Fly - Hey this song isn't that bad. My Hometown - I really like this song. 6157 & 6158 - Don't know them Walking on the Moon - Weird song, not their best War - Great protest song, revive recently, still carries a message Respect Yourself - Good song that Bruce never should have done. Big Love - Don't remember this Shattered Dreams - Not so bad, but they did better 6150 & 6151 - Don't remember them Lucille - I always wondered if Lucille was better off by leaving him. What a whinner. No Surrender - Not a favorite 6144 - 6147 - Don't know or remember them War - Why Bruce decided to cover a 60s protest song in the 80s, I don't know. Like the original better 6141 & 6142 - Don't know them.

Velcro Fly--Yeesh! Sorta silly. My Hometown--Kinda boring. Seems to drag on forever. Long Long Way to Go--Don't remember this one. Rumble Seat--I can't really remember how this goes, but I think I like it ok. Walking on the Moon--Can't place it. War--Grossly overplayed. Respect Yourself--I like it. Big Love--One of my least favorite Mac songs. Wildly annoying. Shattered Dreams--Never cared for it. Live to Tell--I didn't like this much when it was popular. It has since grown on me, and I don't mind listening to it occasionally. Bad Man--No clue. Lucille--Oh geez. Do I have to admit I kinda like this one? No Surrender--This might be all right. Don't really remember it. Every Rose Has Its Thorn--A guilty pleasure, I suppose. Wildflower--I discovered this song when I was 19, and was going through some rough times. I heard the lyrics to this, and they just spoke to me: "She's faced the hardest times you could imagine. And many times her eyes fought back the tears..." Yep, that was me, all right. Creep--Haven't heard this song very much. I can take it or leave it, i guess. When Love and Hate Collide--Not bad, but there are other Def Leppard songs I'd rather listen to. War (Live)--Pretty good version. Love and Affection--Another guilty pleasure. I played the Nelson CD quite often. I Want You--Love this. Haven't heard it in awhile. I'd like to, just to see if I could still keep up with it. LOL!

I really thought that I had responded to this yesterday. Work has me stressed to the limit. 6160. Velcro Fly-ZZ Top 1986 Don't know this one at all. 6159. My Hometown-Bruce Springsteen 1985/86 The Santa Claus song is on the flipside?! That's kind of odd because this song is kind of a downer. Anyway, I like this one from Bruce a lot. 6158. Long, Long Way to Go-Phil Collins 1985 I've only heard it a few times and I can't remember if I like it or not. 6157. Rumble Seat-John Mellencamp 1986 Not his best 6156. Walking on the Moon-Police 1979 I love this one. Awesome bass and drums. 6155. War-Edwin Starr 1970 I like to hear this one occasionally. 6154. Respect Yourself-Staple Singers 1971 Linking this to Bruce isn't fair to Mavis. A good one from this family. 6153. Big Love-Fleetwood Mac 1987 Don't remember the video. Not their best. 6152. Shattered Dreams-Johnny Hates Jazz 1988 Loved it in highschool! Still kind of dig it today. 6151. Live to Tell-Madonna 1986 I actually like this one. It was such a radical departure from what she was doing at the time. 6150. Bad Man-Bad Company 1988 Yuck 6149. Lucille-Kenny Rogers 1977 One of my grandma's faves. 6148. No Surrender-Bruce Springsteen 1984 Doesn't do anything for me. 6147. Every Rose Has it's Thorn-Poison 1988 Not a fave of mine at all. 6146. Wildflower-Skylark 1973 I like this one. You don't hear it that much at all. 6145. Creep-TLC 1994 I like this one quite a bit actually 6144. When Love and Hate Collide-Def Leppard 1995 Couldn't really get into this one 6143. War (Live)-Bruce Springsteen 1984 Bruce's voice sounds too strained on this. Painful... 6142. (Can't Live Without Your) Love and Affection-Nelson 1990 I'm guilty of loving this song when it came out. Now I have to wonder what drugs I was on. 6141. I Want You-Savage Garden 1997 No thanks

6148 - Still like it 6147 - Yeah I thought it was a good tune . 6153. I thought so too until I heard his Family Man on the same album!

6153. Yeah, you gotta hear it to know what I mean.

It's okay. 6153. Sorry bout that! LOL! I think you are in the minority this time.
