Ok, by now, 7 of you know the teams for the trivia challenge. The rest-check it out! We're gonna start Monday, and just see how it goes. Get together with your teammates and decide who will have a question on Monday and who will answer the other teams question. No pressure, we'll just let it ride, as BTO said. K? 6120. Feel Like I'm Fixin' to Die-Rag-Country Joe & the Fish 1969 I'm thinking the only time I heard this was in Woodstock. Not really a song you break out these days. 6119. Spoonful-Cream 1966 (New addition) Had this for years on my vinyl compilation, but only knew it in recent years with the Very Best collection. 6118. Middle of the Road-Pretenders 1983/84 To my ears, the Pretenders lost something when Honeyman-Scott and Farndon cashed it in. They ceased being new wave/punk and became more pop rock. 6117. Anybody Seen My Baby?-Rolling Stones 1997 The Stones were threatened with a lawsuit by K.D. Lang because this sounded so much like Constant Craving, until they gave her co writing credit. A far cry from Exile days. 6116. Cold Hearted-Paula Abdul 1989 (Previous ranking 4801) Never mind the song, did you see the video??OWWW!!! I think that was why I had it ranked higher before. 6115. Radio Song-R.E.M. 1991 Actually, a somewhat cool song, despite a small rap section in the middle. There is a line that says, "The DJ sucks!" that I planned on using if I became a DJ myself! 6114. Don't Get Me Wrong-Pretenders 1986 This one was pleasant, gets a higher ranking because I don't like the harmonica in Middle of the Road. 6113. You Want it-Cheap Trick 1988 This is from the Say Anything soundtrack. Ever notice how much Cheap Trick loves the word "want"? 6112. Talk to Me-Sunny and the Sunglows 1963 Sortof a slowy. Never heard it a ton, but remember it from my dad's jukebox. 6111. Kill the King-Rainbow 1978 One of the few Dio era songs by them that I have on this list. Not big on that era, although Rainbow traditionalists consider it the best. 6110. Who's That Girl?-Eurythmics 1984 Never big on them. This one is ok though. 6109. Method of Modern Love-Hall & Oates 1984/85 Ok, the spelling in this song is SO annoying! Out of Touch was 1000 times better. 6108. Great Balls of Fire-Jerry Lee Lewis 1957/58 Typical oldie fare. Just tired of it at this point. 6107. Tragedy-Fleetwoods 1961 Total soft sounds that the pre-rock crowd probably ate up. 6106. Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)-Eurythmics 1983 Their first biggie. Never though much of it though. 6105. Another Night-Real McCoy 1994 (Previous ranking 4368) Again, my wife had the tape. Again, not bad, better than most of the dance music at the time. 6104. Come Back and Stay-Paul Young 1984 My fave from him. But you see what that means. 6103. Some Guys Have All the Luck-Rod Stewart 1984 Hard to believe, watching him dancing around in a white suit, that just fave years before he was in his hot pants singing Do Ya Think I'm Sexy? My buddy and I used to make fun of the beginning when Rod's nose gets caught in the director's "clapper". (THAT sounds real good! ) 6102. Golden Years-David Bowie 1975/76 Never big on Bowie and this one always annoyed me. I think I like more of his 80's stuff than his 70's stuff. 6101. A View to a Kill-Duran Duran 1985 Another "not bad, but not their best" song. Remember the video where they blew up a postcard of the Eiffel Tower? Go to it!

Feel Like I'm Fixing to Die Rag - Definitely a period piece, understandably rarely heard today.
Spoonful - Great album cut from the Cream.
Middle of the Road - Not bad, guess I like their first album best.
Anyone Seen My Baby - I don't remember this one.
Cold Hearted - Not a Paula Abdul fan.
Radio Song - Ok, just not a R.E.M. fan
Don't Get Me Wrong - Didn't like it.
You Want It - Cheap Trick's late 80s stuff never measured up to their late 70s stuff.
Talk to Me - Never heard of it.
Kill the King - Good song, but there are other I like better
Who's That Girl - I really like the Eurythmics and Annie Lennox's voice. This is a good song
Method of Modern Love - Don't remember it.
Great Balls of Fire - Classic 50s, rockin' the ivories
Tragedy - Never was really crazy about most of the Fleetwoods' songs.
Sweet Dreams - This is a great song.
Another Night - Don't know it
Come back & Stay - Didn't like it or much of anything Paul Young did.
Some Guys Have All the Luck - Remember the video, but not the song
Golden Years - Good song, but he did much better
A View to a Kill - Not their best, but hey, it's a Bond song.

6120. Feel Like I'm Fixin' to Die-Rag-Country Joe & the Fish 1969 Definately a period piece. Nothing I'd listen to today.
6119. Spoonful-Cream 1966 (New addition) Bluesy, good stuff..
6118. Middle of the Road-Pretenders 1983/84 One of their last great songs.
6117. Anybody Seen My Baby?-Rolling Stones 1997 I thought it was OK, but not classic Stones. Fans of "Sticky Fingers" and "Exile On Main Street" expect more from them.
6116. Cold Hearted-Paula Abdul 1989 (Previous ranking 4801) Didn't like this.
6115. Radio Song-R.E.M. 1991 Didn't like this album.
6114. Don't Get Me Wrong-Pretenders 1986 HATED this song!
6113. You Want it-Cheap Trick 1988 I have this on the box set, I've forgotten how it goes. I'll have to dig it out.
6112. Talk to Me-Sunny and the Sunglows 1963 The Beach Boys did a cover of this on 15 Big Ones, that's how I know it.
6111. Kill the King-Rainbow 1978 Not familiar, but I like Dio in small doses.
6110. Who's That Girl?-Eurythmics 1984 One of my favorites by them.
6109. Method of Modern Love-Hall & Oates 1984/85 I love this one, reminds me of my 8th grade year.
6108. Great Balls of Fire-Jerry Lee Lewis 1957/58 Sick of it. I agree it's a classic, though. I just don't care to hear it.
6107. Tragedy-Fleetwoods 1961 Don't know it.
6106. Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)-Eurythmics 1983 I've always liked it. 6105. Another Night-Real McCoy 1994 (Previous ranking 4368) I THINK I know it. It's kind of catchy, but I really don't ike this type of club music.
6104. Come Back and Stay-Paul Young 1984 His best song, period!
6103. Some Guys Have All the Luck-Rod Stewart 1984 I've hated this song since day one. I heard it in the supermarket the other day, and STILL hate it! Rod, who has dated/married supermodel after supermodel, sings about "having no one". Puh-leeease!
6102. Golden Years-David Bowie 1975/76 Elvis was going to cover this, I believe. It's a good song, but I prefer "Jean Genie"
6101. A View to a Kill-Duran Duran 1985 The last song by the original 5. It's a good one, but they had better.

6120. Feel Like I'm Fixin' to Die-Rag-Country Joe & the Fish 1969 Is this the "...123 what are we fightin' for?" song? If so, then I like it. My mom had a Country Joe album or two. 6119. Spoonful-Cream 1966 (New addition) Not familiar enough with this one 6118. Middle of the Road-Pretenders 1983/84 I love this one actually. Good sounds 6117. Anybody Seen My Baby?-Rolling Stones 1997 Oooh, I didn't know about the KD Lang stuff. I never liked this song but love "Constant Craving". 6116. Cold Hearted-Paula Abdul 1989 (Previous ranking 4801) Like this tune but LOVE the video which is a homage to Bob Fosse. 6115. Radio Song-R.E.M. 1991 Would you spell "Sucks" S-U-X? 6114. Don't Get Me Wrong-Pretenders 1986 Another good one. Kind of peppy melody that doesn't necessarily match the lyrics. 6113. You Want it-Cheap Trick 1988 I have this soundtrack on cassette. I've never heard this song anywhere else. 6112. Talk to Me-Sunny and the Sunglows 1963 Not familiar 6111. Kill the King-Rainbow 1978 My highschool boyfriend loved this song. 6110. Who's That Girl?-Eurythmics 1984 I used to like this tune more than I do now. I live Annie better solo. 6109. Method of Modern Love-Hall & Oates 1984/85 They had better tunes definitely, but I actually sort of like the spelling in the song. 6108. Great Balls of Fire-Jerry Lee Lewis 1957/58 ITA with your comments 6107. Tragedy-Fleetwoods 1961 Don't know this at least by name 6106. Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)-Eurythmics 1983 Overplayed IMO. 6105. Another Night-Real McCoy 1994 (Previous ranking 4368) Hate it. 6104. Come Back and Stay-Paul Young 1984 Your comments made me laugh 6103. Some Guys Have All the Luck-Rod Stewart 1984 He's very goofy in this video. I don't mind this era from him actually. 6102. Golden Years-David Bowie 1975/76 A tune that I could take or leave. I don't mind others from this period though 6101. A View to a Kill-Duran Duran 1985 I used to hate this song, until I heard them perform it live in 1992, then I fell in love with it. I've put this on several 80s compilations that I've burned recently.

I'm gonna go through this quickly again today. Can't wait until Monday, BTW!
6120 - 6117. Don't know these.
6116. I like the song, but you're right about the video. It is pretty hot. But actually, it's called Cold Hearted Snake.
6115 - 6109. Not familiar with them.
6108. I'm with you. It's alright.
6107. Don't know it.
6106. One of the greatest songs EVER. Love it.
6105. Pretty good.
6104. Don't believe I've heard it.
6103. Good. I totally agree with the sentiments of this song.
6102 - 6101. Don't know them.

6120 - This is among the many highlights for me from The Woodstock film . Every once in a while my classic rock station plays it.
6119 - Have really got into it in the last several years . Great stuff!
6118 - Has always been a big fave.
6117 - Wow I didn't know that about KD . Didn't mind the song.
6116 - I don't remember seeing the video - darn! LOL
6115- The rap part ruined it for me.
6114 - A pleasant piece of pop.
6113 - Gasp! a Cheap Trick tune I don't know and I can't find an audio clip!
6112 - Don't know it but it's sounds interesting:)
6111 - Don't know it
6110 - Unlike Sweet Dreams which took awhile to grow on me . I liked it right away.
6109 - Another one I didn't mind - I bought the 45.
6108 - Love that piano!
6107 - I'm familiar with a couple of their tunes but not this one.
6106 - Like I mentioned above - I didn't like it at all at first - but after awhile I warmed up to it.
6105 - Not my thing.
6104 - Not familiar - was it a hit?
6103 - Ok I guess. Not as weak as some of his other 80's material . Isn't he on a boat in the video or am I thinking of a different clip?
6102 - We had the Changesone 8 -track in the house so I heard this lots - I like it.
6101 - It ok.

6120. Feel Like I'm Fixin' to Die-Rag-Country Joe & the Fish 1969 I've heard this only a few times. Definitely of its time. It's okay.
6119. Spoonful-Cream 1966 (New addition) Is this from Strange Brew? I can't place this one.
6118. Middle of the Road-Pretenders 1983/84 One of my favorite cuts from Learning to Crawl. Great rocker.
6117. Anybody Seen My Baby?-Rolling Stones 1997 I don't think I've heard this. I like 'Constant Craving', though.
6116. Cold Hearted-Paula Abdul 1989 (Previous ranking 4801) One of Paula's best songs.
6115. Radio Song-R.E.M. 1991 I'm sure I've heard this, but can't recall how it goes.
6114. Don't Get Me Wrong-Pretenders 1986 Not quite up to the level of some of their other hits, IMO, but good.
6113. You Want it-Cheap Trick 1988 I'm not much of a fan of their more recent work.
6112. Talk to Me-Sunny and the Sunglows 1963 I've never heard this one.
6111. Kill the King-Rainbow 1978 The only Rainbow songs I'm familiar with are the early 80s ones.
6110. Who's That Girl?-Eurythmics 1984 Nice - not their best, though.
6109. Method of Modern Love-Hall & Oates 1984/85 I've always liked this - their early-mid 80s stuff was great.
6108. Great Balls of Fire-Jerry Lee Lewis 1957/58 A classic, but not a song I'd listen to every day.
6107. Tragedy-Fleetwoods 1961 I'm not sure if I've heard this one. I like their other hits, though.
6106. Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)-Eurythmics 1983 My favorite Eurythmics song. Love it!
6105. Another Night-Real McCoy 1994 (Previous ranking 4368) I like this - very danceable.
6104. Come Back and Stay-Paul Young 1984 This is my favorite from him as well. Reminds me of my sophomore year of high school.
6103. Some Guys Have All the Luck-Rod Stewart 1984 I've never really warmed up to this in a big way. It's so-so.
6102. Golden Years-David Bowie 1975/76 Remember this from back in the day. One of my faves of his.
6101. A View to a Kill-Duran Duran 1985 I enjoy their music a lot, but this was a song that I didn't take to right away. It's grown on me since.

Feel Like I'm Fixin' To Die Rag--There's a blast from the past! Haven't heard it in years. Spoonful--Don't think I know it. Middle of the Road--A favorite of mine from Chrissie and the gang. Anybody Seen My Baby--I remember the big controversy about this song and Constant Craving. They really do sound an awful lot alike. Cold Hearted--Not a bad song, considering it's Paula Abdul. Radio Song--I'd probably know it if I heard it, but I can't place it at the moment. Don't Get Me Wrong--Another good song from the Pretenders. You Want It--Never saw Say Anything. Never heard this song. Talk to Me--Who and the Whatnow? Don't know the song, don't know the group. Kill the King--Don't know much by Rainbow. Who's That Girl--I probably know this, but I keep getting it mixed up in my head with Madonna's song of the same name. Method Of Modern Love--Like it a lot. I like the spelling. Thought it was clever. Great Balls of Fire--Goodness gracious, this song is overplayed! Tragedy--Not a clue. Sweet Dreams--Never cared much for this. Another Night--I think I have the cassingle of this somewhere. Pretty good song. Come Back and Stay--Great song from Paul. I like most of his songs anyway. Some Guys Have All the Luck--Like the song, like the video. Don't ask me why. I just thought he looked kinda cute dancing around in that suit. Golden Years--Pretty good Bowie song. A View to a Kill--I just said No to Duran Duran. Didn't like 'em.

6120. Feel Like I'm Fixin' to Die-Rag-Country Joe & the Fish 1969 Perhaps Woodstock's best performance! Follow that bouncing ball! Open up the pearly gates! LOVE this! WOO HOO!
6119. Spoonful-Cream 1966 (New addition) I believe I even had this in my 1987 top 10,000. Still easily in there today.
6118. Middle of the Road-Pretenders 1983/84 CRANK it up! LOVE that part where her cat growl combines with the guitar!
6117. Anybody Seen My Baby?-Rolling Stones 1997 My comments exactly.
6116. Cold Hearted-Paula Abdul 1989 (Previous ranking 4801) Been pretty good all these years.
6115. Radio Song-R.E.M. 1991 Couldn't understand why this wan't even big on radio. Almost as great as their previous 2 top 10's from "Out of time".
6114. Don't Get Me Wrong-Pretenders 1986 I honestly thought this song was inspired from "Walking on Sunshine". Not bad.
6113. You Want it-Cheap Trick 1988 Not even on my box set. One Trick song I don't know.
6112. Talk to Me-Sunny and the Sunglows 1963 This was big 40 years ago this week. Not as good as "Martian Hop" or "Down at Papa Joe's" though.
6111. Kill the King-Rainbow 1978 Not great, but certainly not bad.
6110. Who's That Girl?-Eurythmics 1984 Good, but one of my lesser fave hits of theirs.
6109. Method of Modern Love-Hall & Oates 1984/85 Disagree with you, Sat. Loved this from Day 1, and my fave of theirs after "Rock and Soul" was released.
6108. Great Balls of Fire-Jerry Lee Lewis 1957/58 I think last time I was ready to flame you why this was so low. Granted this is a personal list, but this belongs in virtually every oldies countown, let alone eternally in my top 1000.
6107. Tragedy-Fleetwoods 1961 Pleasant, just as good as Thomas Wayne's original.
6106. Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)-Eurythmics 1983 That synth was PURE 80's.
6105. Another Night-Real McCoy 1994 (Previous ranking 4368) One of 1994's best. Recently burned the CD, and also eternally in my top 1000.
6104. Come Back and Stay-Paul Young 1984 Just great!
6103. Some Guys Have All the Luck-Rod Stewart 1984 One of his few I don't rave over. The Persuasions' original was better.
6102. Golden Years-David Bowie 1975/76 Sadly, he will be remembered more of an "80's guy". I still like his 70's stuff the best; this, Fame, and Suffragette City RULE!!!
6101. A View to a Kill-Duran Duran 1985 This is just about my all-time fave of theirs. Well-done!

Who is Bob Fosse and why is it a homage to him?

I'm gonna go through this quickly again today. Can't wait until Monday, BTW! 6120 - 6117. Don't know these. 6116. I like the song, but you're right about the video. It is pretty hot. But actually, it's called Cold Hearted Snake. 6115 - 6109. Not familiar with them. 6108. I'm with you. It's alright. 6107. Don't know it. 6106. One of the greatest songs EVER. Love it. 6105. Pretty good. 6104. Don't believe I've heard it. 6103. Good. I totally agree with the sentiments of this song. 6102 - 6101. Don't know them. 6116. Hmmmm....I'm gonna have to re-check, I coulda sworn they left the snake off!

LOL 6115- The rap part ruined it for me. 6114 - A pleasant piece of pop. 6113 - Gasp! a Cheap Trick tune I don't know and I can't find an audio clip! 6112 - Don't know it but it's sounds interesting:) 6111 - Don't know it 6110 - Unlike Sweet Dreams which took awhile to grow on me . 6116. I have it on tape! 6113. It's not too bad, considering the year! Try to find a used copy of the soundtrack! There is another KILLER song on there called Keeping the Dream Alive by a McCartney sound alike group. 6104. An MTV hit; it may not have gone top 40, but MTV played the crap out of it.
