The last of the list for the bicentennial year. Enjoy!
10. "Blinded By The Light" - Manfred Mann's Earth Band – One of the best cover songs EVER. I remember this one on the radio a lot as a kid. Still a huge favorite for me today.
9. "Sara Smile" - Hall & Oates – Such a beautiful love song. Almost made me wish my name was Sara.
8. "Fooled Around And Fell In Love" - Elvin Bishop – Love this one. Played around the house a lot. I like to do my own version at karaoke bars sometimes.
7. "Afternoon Delight" - The Starland Vocal Band – This band was from DC! My mom actually knew one of the girls from classes at American University. This was ALWAYS on local radio. Love the video for it, filmed along the canal in Georgetown.
6. "This One's For You" - Barry Manilow – Another classic from Barry. My mom would play this on the piano.
5. "Love Theme From 'A Star Is Born' (Evergreen)" - Barbra Streisand - I didn’t see the movie until years later, but I knew this song by heart by the end of 1976.
4. "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" - Elton John & Kiki Dee – Believe it or not, my mom and I performed this at a family reunion talent show in the summer of 1976. We won of course.
3. "If You Leave Me Now" – Chicago – Such a great ballad from them. Peter’s voice is so awesome on this track.
2. “Daddy’s All Gone” – James Taylor – In my top 5 JT songs. From the awesome In The Pocket album.
1. "Lowdown" - Boz Scaggs – The Silk Degrees album was WORN OUT in my house. This song is still so great. I love the bass and Boz’s voice.

10. Awesome cover! and it's one that for the longest time I could never understand the lyrics - I actually still don't know some of them - LOL 9. A bit of blue eyed soul - simply one of their best. 8.I have it on disc - and just heard it this morning! Amazing vocal by Mickey Thomas. We had the 45 in the house growing up. 7.I remember hearing this back then many times . I always loved the harmonies and had no idea what they were really singing about 6.Don't recall this. 5.I think I may have heard this back then but I'm not sure . Like you Kitty I didn't see the move until much later. 4.Remember hearing this while a buddy and I were riding our bikes one day. We use to each carry a transistor radio with us. Bought the 45 a few days later. 3.One of their best:) 2.My brother has the album but I'm sure I've heard it ,it's been quite a while 1.This was a huge album in my house as well. We had it on 8 - track and vinyl . Superb tune.

Ok, you definitely saved the best for last here! 10. A classic rock staple that is a bit overplayed. Thus, I would never CHOOSE to play it, but when it's on the radio, I still crank it. 9. Great song. H&O's best stuff was those 3 early hits. 8. Wait til you see how high THIS is on the INSANE list! 7. A classic! John Denver's former backup singers get down and dirty! 6. I like Barry. So sue me. 5. Eh. 4. I always say, his last truly GREAT song. (Until the duet with Collective Soul, of course. ) 3. Chicago was still great at this point, and ballads like this BLOW AWAY stuff like Will You Still Love Me? 2. Don't know it. 1. We had Silk Degrees too, and it got lots of play. Love this.
