Probably the biggest departure, musically, for Madonna. I didn't like the change.

Some of Paul's songs were REALLY dumb.

5958. Up Where We Belong-Joe Cocker & Jennifer Warnes 1982 (Previous ranking 4269)
There is a HILARIOUS scene in the show Wings, where Jenny McCarthy is playing this annoying girl (talk about type casting!!) and she sings all the lyrics wrong. "Love lifted us up where we were wrong. Where the eagle dies, and the mountains fly!" LMAO!!

5957. There Will Never Be Another Tonight-Bryan Adams 1991
Mutt Lange must've had a hand in writing this one, with an obnoxious title like that! One of the later singles from the album.

5956. Come into My Life-Robert Plant 1993
I don't know if this ended up being a single or not. Overall, this album wasn't that good, save a track or two.

5955. Here I Am (Just When I Thought I Was Over You)-Air Supply 1981
What's scaring me is I think there are quite a few Air Supply songs left! Oh well, it's better than the Backstreet Boys!

5954. Bad is Bad-Huey Lewis & the News 1983
I think this ended up being a B side. There were so many singles from that album. This was Huey's attempt at being bluesy.

5953. There Goes My Baby-Drifters 1959
They are a legendary act, to be sure, but most of their stuff doesn't do much for me.

5952. Calendar Girl-Neil Sedaka 1960/61
Further evidence the British Invasion was written in the stars.

5951. Ditty Diego-Monkees 1968
This is the faster version (with different lyrics) of their theme song, from the movie Head, where they mock their fabricated image.

The 1 minute instrumental that opens the album of the same name. They should really play this WITH Jump on FM stations.

5949. Something to Believe in-Poison 1990
I never dug a single Poison song. Even for a short while. They were strictly "chick metal".

This is where Pete Cetera was REALLY pouring out the maple.

5947. Mistress and Maid-Paul McCartney 1993
See my above comments about Paul. Don't even remember how this one goes.

5946. You Won't See Me-Anne Murray 1974
Another Anne cover of a classic. I like the original better than the Daydream Believer original, so it follows this would get ranked higher. My dad actually has this single!

5945. Talking Out of Turn-Moody Blues 1981
Did this end up as a single? No matter, The Voice was better.

5944. Take Me to the River-Talking Heads 1978/79
The only Heads song that gets play on the Timeless Rock station. The rest are too "new wave". Sort of boring.

5943. Life in One Day-Howard Jones 1985
So many of his sounded the same.

5942. Fingertips pt 2-Stevie Wonder 1963
The little genius. Nothing really wrong with the song, just doesn't do much for me.

The show was HILARIOUS! And despite lasting 8 seasons, it was overshadowed by other NBC powerhouses Seinfeld and Friends. To be honest, I think it's funnier than both.

And that 2:30am crap is for the birds. FOUR episodes of Cosby in a 3 hour span?? What is that??

We screamed requests for it at his show (yes, he takes requests) but the people up front yelled louder and he ended up doing "Back In Time" - as if that one hadn't been played to death. I love the part "Across the street, a neon sign. All you can eat for $1.99. Our soul stew is the baddest in the land but $1 worth was all that I could stand".

I prefer the version from the film where it doesn't speed up and slow down. I ended up returning the album 3 times to the store before I realized that was how it was supposed to sound. I really don't like Poison except for this song. The part about the VietNam vet who says "Forgive me for what I done there, 'cause I never meant the things I did" just reminds me of so many of my dad's friends.

5960 - eh

5959 - I actually didn't mind the album but the lyrics were a bit preachy at times.

5958 - I remember that - very funny! - a good duet between Joe and Jennifer.


5957 - I can't help it , I like it

5956 - don't know it

5955 - Whoa! haven't heard this since '81

5954 - I really like the background harmonies on this.

5953 - Probably My #1 fave I bought a reissue 45 a few years ago.

5952 - Yeah it's kind of goofy but ok to hear once in awhile.

5951 - I think I know it - I did record the movie off TV but it's been awhile since I've watched it.

5950 - I have heard it occasionally on the radio.

5949 - Thought it was alright certainly alot better than some of the other tunes out at the time.

5948 - they did shift into ballad mode didn't
