Friday edition... 5820. Riders on the Storm-Doors 1971 Ok Doors fans, blast me. I don't find this to be the classic others do. Very dreary. 5819. Footloose-Kenny Loggins 1984 I liked his earlier stuff better. 5818. Dedicated to the One I Love-Shirelles 1959/61 Can you believe that first release date?? Predating the Supremes by several years! Maybe a Hall slot coming up? 5817. I'm Free (Heaven Helps the Man)-Kenny Loggins 1984 The "other" Kenny song from the movie. When I was in 6th grade, the 8th grade girls did a dance to this in the spring show. They pulled off a "jailbird" shirt, to reveal a plain shirt underneath. My favorite girl was the one who forgot to wear the plain shirt! 5816. Hello Again-Cars 1984 What was this, like the 4th single. Didn't do as well as the others, and thus was left off their first greatest hits. 5815. We Are the World-U.S.A. For Africa 1985 I remember saying, "I like the parts with Bruce, Steve Perry, etc" back then. This was mostly pop artists. Sort of a novelty song at this point. Inspired a less known Canadian version (Northern Lights). Hey, Bryan Adams and Loverboy had to do something! 5814. I Turn to You-Christina Aguilera 1999/00 I don't know. I thought her voice was alright on that first album. I suppose I could have ranked this lower though. 5813. I'm Every Woman-Chaka Khan 1978 Didn't this end up on a commercial for some chick product? 5812. Shot Gun-Jr. Walker & the Allstars 1965 Remember when The What was singing this at Al's reunion on Married With Children? LMAO! 5811. Still Cruisin'-Beach Boys 1989 This was the follow up "hit" to Kokomo. Thrown on a compilation of songs that had been on soundtracks. I think it peaked at like 96 on the charts. 5810. Uninvited-Alanis Morrissette 1998 I never remember how this goes. LOL! I do know it's on the City of Angels soundtrack. 5809. Will You Be There?-Michael Jackson 1993 Will anybody be offended if I post some Michael jokes on here? I ranked this this high because of the movie it was in, Free Willy. DAMN, lots of soundtrack stuff on this list! 5808. Breathless-Jerry Lee Lewis 1958 Typical oldie. I think I just need to hear deeper stuff from the Killer. 5807. Turn to You-Go-Go's 1984 Their hits were fading by this point. This one didn't do too well. Hoping to see the video on VH-1 Classic. 5806. He's a Rebel-Crystals 1962 I like the Crystals. Although this one is worn a little thin by now. 5805. Real Good Man-Tim McGraw 2003 (New addition) He gives Toby on run for his money in the cocky department in this video. Mr. Hill has some good songs, but this isn't one of the better ones. 5804. Magical Mystery Tour-Cheap Trick 1991 I like that they paid respects to one of their idols by recording this for their greatest hits, but this is such a period piece, it sounds out of place in the 90's. 5803. London Calling-The Clash 1979 They aren't outstanding to me, but they had a few decent ones, and one great one. This is one of the decent ones. 5802. Cruisin'-Smokey Robinson 1979/80 For years whenever I would read this title, I would start to sing Groovin' by the Rascals. I'm ok now though. 5801. Talking Back to the Night-Steve Winwood 1982/88 This was put out again for Steve's compilation in 88, much like it's original album partner, Valerie. Not his best. Go to it!

5820. Riders on the Storm-Doors 1971 I find this one a lot more eerie than "dreary" ;D Always liked it 5819. Footloose-Kenny Loggins 1984 Not bad, but I agree, his '70s music with Messina was better. 5818. Dedicated to the One I Love-Shirelles 1959/61 Yeah, I can believe that release date. It didn't do much in '59, though, but was pretty big in '61. I always considered the Shirelles as the first of the big R&B girl groups. This is a good song. 5817. I'm Free (Heaven Helps the Man)-Kenny Loggins 1984 So-so. (BTW, Adam...what kinda shirt did the girl wear if she forgot to wear a plain shirt??) ;D ;D ;D ;D 5816. Hello Again-Cars 1984 Only heard it a couple of times. Don't care for it. 5815. We Are the World-U.S.A. For Africa 1985 Very schmaltzy.. but the idea of a bunch of superstars singing together was cool. 5814. I Turn to You-Christina Aguilera 1999/00 Don't know it. 5813. I'm Every Woman-Chaka Khan 1978 Don't remember it. 5812. Shot Gun-Jr. Walker & the Allstars 1965 Like this one, although I like What Does It Take better. 5811. Still Cruisin'-Beach Boys 1989 Don't know it. I'll investigate this one. 5810. Uninvited-Alanis Morrissette 1998 Don't know it. 5809. Will You Be There?-Michael Jackson 1993 I think Michael needs a visit from Andrea's "boyfriend" to cuddle with him at night. 5808. Breathless-Jerry Lee Lewis 1958 Kinda a poor relation to Great Balls of Fire and Whole Lotta Shakin'. Not bad, though. 5807. Turn to You-Go-Go's 1984 Don't know it. 5806. He's a Rebel-Crystals 1962 Between the Shirelles and the Supremes, THEY were the top R&B girl group. This is probably the best of the "bad boy" songs. 5805. Real Good Man-Tim McGraw 2003 (New addition) Don't know it 5804. Magical Mystery Tour-Cheap Trick 1991 Don't think I ever heard this version. 5803. London Calling-The Clash 1979 Don't think I know it. 5802. Cruisin'-Smokey Robinson 1979/80 He's done better 5801. Talking Back to the Night-Steve Winwood 1982/88 Don't know it.

5820. Riders on the Storm-Doors 1971 I've always liked the dark feel of this.
5819. Footloose-Kenny Loggins 1984 This one I never liked. They used to play it at our high school dances and everyone would throw up their arms and sing along with the "Whoooah oh-oh" part. Everyone except me.. He had another hit of that soundtrack, "I'm Free (Heaven Helps The Man)", I like that one better!
5818. Dedicated to the One I Love-Shirelles 1959/61 I like this song, I just don't like this version. It sounds sloppy, The Mamas & Papas version is produced better and the voices are smoother. I can't take the Shirelles nasally "This is dedi-caaaated"..
5817. I'm Free (Heaven Helps the Man)-Kenny Loggins 1984 Hey, here it is! I don't have a memory like yours, but I like the song!
5816. Hello Again-Cars 1984 Yep, 4th out of five singles from Heartbeat City. I bought that tape around the time this was on the charts (Christmas '84). This was a weird one.
5815. We Are the World-U.S.A. For Africa 1985 I never liked this. It sounds like the Ad Council put it together. Boring...
5814. I Turn to You-Christina Aguilera 1999/00 Uh, no...
5813. I'm Every Woman-Chaka Khan 1978 Better than the re-make (then again, most things that came out in the 70's that were re-done in the nineties were better originally).
5812. Shot Gun-Jr. Walker & the Allstars 1965 Yeah, The Why?.. Those burn-outs. Funny episode!
5811. Still Cruisin'-Beach Boys 1989 This was their last charted hit. Not too bad. The "Still Crusin" album was kind of a throwaway album. There were so many odds and ends from the late 80's that COULD have been used on that CD, yet instead they filled it out with oldies that people had already bought a million times over.. There is, however, one really GREAT song on that album, "Somewhere Near Japan".. Do you know it?
5810. Uninvited-Alanis Morrissette 1998 I vaguely remember it..
5809. Will You Be There?-Michael Jackson 1993 Nope, I won't!
5808. Breathless-Jerry Lee Lewis 1958 Not bad...
5807. Turn to You-Go-Go's 1984 I like all their hits. This was decent for a final hit..
5806. He's a Rebel-Crystals 1962 Spector was at the top of his game in 1962!
5805. Real Good Man-Tim McGraw 2003 (New addition) Don't know...
5804. Magical Mystery Tour-Cheap Trick 1991 Yeah, I didn't care much for this either. I wish they'd done an original song instead of this. Their cover of "Day Tripper" was good, though! BTW- Another group who covered MMT was Ambrosia. It went top 40 in '75 (or '76). I have the 45, it's so-so. Not a good song for anyone to cover.
5803. London Calling-The Clash 1979 #1 in England. Not a hit here, but one of the better Clash tunes.
5802. Cruisin'-Smokey Robinson 1979/80 Mellow, I like it..
5801. Talking Back to the Night-Steve Winwood 1982/88 Don't think I know it, but I've heard of it.

Why Can't I Have You or something like that? 5812. I thought it was The What! 5811. No, I don't.

Actually, I meant a memory to associate with the song, but it can work either way, I guess! Yeah, Why Can't I Have You was when tey REALLY started milking the album. They should have put out "I Refuse" or the title track as the fifth single.. I have the episode on tape somewhere. I'll need to look for it. Great song. The last really great Beach Boys song!

5820 - A very eerie tune . I remember talking with a buddy of my cousin's and he was listening to this late one night while home alone and it really freaked him out LOL - very nice playing by Robbie , John and Ray. 5819 - I liked it but it sure was overplayed. 5818 - I would have bet money that they were in the hall by now . I have this on a reissue single. 5817 - Nice Memory! Thank you Adam! - the reason is I had recorded this off the radio back then and wrote down this title not really knowing if it was correct or not - now I know - I use to hate it when the DJ's never mentioned song titles. 5816 - Remember taping the video back in '84 off a short lived video / interview show called Backstage Pass. 5815 - I was happy that the money from both singles went to help people in need. But I really got tired of both very quickly. I remember our band trip to California in '85 we took two buses and I remember talking with a few of my buddy's on the other bus while We are The world played over and over on the bus stereo system - it drove me nuts. 5814 - All she does is scream now. 5813 - Yeah I think so. 5812 - Yes!! I love that episode and have it on video. I'll have to dig it out . LOL 5811 - I think it might be on the 2 CD collection I have - not one of their best by any means. 5810 Easy stomach easy 5809 - nope fire away! 5808 - Love it - didn't hear it until the 80's. 5807 - Too bad it didn't do better always loved it. 5806 - This is one that I don't hear all that much so when I do I really enjoy it. 5805 - Didn't mind it. 5804 - a big fave - thought they did a great job. 5803 - Same here Adam - I liked a few tunes but wasn't heavily into them although a buddy I played with in the H.S. band was a HUGE fan. 5802 - LOL - It's been ages since I've heard this. 5801 -It's Good - but he had better:)

Riders on the Storm - Won't blast you, but I really like this song.
Footloose - I really liked the movie, the song was alright.
Dedicated to the One I Love - Don't like this one as much as some of the later hits, but a good song. Should be in the hall, may go in as an after thought some year.
I'm Free - Didn't really like it.
Hello Again - okay song, they did much better.
We Are the World - Was a huge hit, a great cause, but man did they play it to death. A period a piece now, but so many great artists singing together, great stuff.

Shot Gun - Great song
Still Cruisin' - Don't know it
Uninvited - no thanks

Turn to You - good song
He's a Rebel - didn't like it
Real Good Man - Don't know it
Magical Mystery Tour - Like the way they did this one. Good Song.
London Calling - Good song
Crusin' - Not really into Smokey's later hits
Talking Back to the Night - Really didn't like this Steve Winwood song.

5820. Riders on the Storm-Doors 1971 My favorite Doors song. Love the "storm" sound effects.
5819. Footloose-Kenny Loggins 1984 Very catchy - reminds me of high school.
5818. Dedicated to the One I Love-Shirelles 1959/61 Not bad, but they did better ones.
5817. I'm Free (Heaven Helps the Man)-Kenny Loggins 1984 This is probably my favorite song from that soundtrack.
5816. Hello Again-Cars 1984 My favorite song from Heartbeat City. I was disappointed that it was left off that greatest hits collection.
5815. We Are the World-U.S.A. For Africa 1985 Heard this CONSTANTLY back in the spring of '85, but very seldom hear it today. Not bad, but it hasn't aged that well.
5814. I Turn to You-Christina Aguilera 1999/00 Not a fan of hers.
5813. I'm Every Woman-Chaka Khan 1978 My favorite by her. Very energetic, and her vocals are great.
5812. Shot Gun-Jr. Walker & the Allstars 1965 Nice sax work on this. Oldies radio overplays it, though.
5811. Still Cruisin'-Beach Boys 1989 I don't think I've heard this one.
5810. Uninvited-Alanis Morrissette 1998 I never really warmed up to this one.
5809. Will You Be There?-Michael Jackson 1993 I must have missed this one.
5808. Breathless-Jerry Lee Lewis 1958 Very rocking tune for its time.
5807. Turn to You-Go-Go's 1984 I like this, but it's not as good as their earlier work.
5806. He's a Rebel-Crystals 1962 This one's okay.
5805. Real Good Man-Tim McGraw 2003 (New addition) I don't think I know this one.
5804. Magical Mystery Tour-Cheap Trick 1991 Don't know it, but you've got me curious about it.
5803. London Calling-The Clash 1979 One of my favorites by them.
5802. Cruisin'-Smokey Robinson 1979/80 This does sound similar in style to 'Groovin'. Very nice, mellow song.
5801. Talking Back to the Night-Steve Winwood 1982/88 Love this. I remember taping it off the radio back in 1988 and playing it constantly.

5820. Riders on the Storm-Doors 1971 I'm not gonna blast you - you don't have to like it - yes, it's a dreary song but I love the whole sound of it.
5819. Footloose-Kenny Loggins 1984 So very sick of it......
5818. Dedicated to the One I Love-Shirelles 1959/61 I like the Mama's and Papa's version better.
5817. I'm Free (Heaven Helps the Man)-Kenny Loggins 1984 I like this movie, but I remember them playing it over news footage of people escaping from that nut who shot up a McDonald's in (I think) California. I always see those images when I hear the song.
5816. Hello Again-Cars 1984 I like this song.
5815. We Are the World-U.S.A. For Africa 1985 Never really liked this one - prefer Band Aid's song much more.
5814. I Turn to You-Christina Aguilera 1999/00 Yuk!
5813. I'm Every Woman-Chaka Khan 1978 Yep - I just can't remember what it was - Oprah also used it for her theme song.
5812. Shot Gun-Jr. Walker & the Allstars 1965 That was funny! This song's ok.
5811. Still Cruisin'-Beach Boys 1989 It's ok.
5810. Uninvited-Alanis Morrissette 1998 Eh.
5809. Will You Be There?-Michael Jackson 1993 Not familiar.
5808. Breathless-Jerry Lee Lewis 1958 I like it.
5807. Turn to You-Go-Go's 1984 It's ok.
5806. He's a Rebel-Crystals 1962 Eh.
5805. Real Good Man-Tim McGraw 2003 (New addition) No thanks.
5804. Magical Mystery Tour-Cheap Trick 1991 Never heard it.
5803. London Calling-The Clash 1979 This song rocks!
5802. Cruisin'-Smokey Robinson 1979/80 I like this one. I liked the duet purely for Huey.
5801. Talking Back to the Night-Steve Winwood 1982/88 Not familiar.
