Don't forget to tune in here Thursday and Friday! ;D
5780. Cowboy in Me Tim McGraw 2001 (New addition)
This is sorta mellow, but it's one of his better ones, I guess.
5779. How Many More Times-Led Zeppelin 1969
I'm not big on that first album because it's TOO bluesy. Love watching the B&W clip of them doing this though.
5778. Get Down on it-Kool & the Gang 1982
I think this one tends to get forgotten about in light of Celebration. I wonder if there is a Hall slot waiting for them?
5777. Be My Lover-La Bouche 1996
My wife and I used to sing this song in a mocking way, "Wanna be my lover, wanna be my lover, ....." on and on. Inside joke but funny memories attached to it.
5776. Any Day Now-Ronnie Milsap 1982 (Previous ranking 5655)
Ok, here is where the chart gets screwed up. The previous ranking was actually LOWER, but because these numbers are "unofficial", it looks like it dropped in ranking. Get all that? LOL! Anyway, the ranking is supposed to be better than before, and once I fix the list, it will reflect that.
5775. Think of Me-Madonna 1983
The thing to do when we were in grade school was to buy the records of the artists we thought were hot looking. So I bought the first Madonna album. It's actually very good. This is one of the album cuts.
5774. Modern Girl-Sheena Easton 1981
She certainly packed in quite a few hits in such a short time.
5773. Physical Attraction-Madonna 1983
Second verse, same as the first! I remember riding my bike home from the mall with my buddies, and the bag was hanging from the handle bars, and the album cover kept getting ruined in the spokes!
5772. Difficult to Cure-Rainbow 1981
This was one of their huge instrumentals. Pretty cool, as far as instrumentals go.
5771. My City Was Gone-Pretenders 1984
Garbage picked this album from my neighbors! Was surprised how many popular songs were on it! They need a better hits package that has this and Tattooed Love Boys on it.
5770. Maybelline-Chuck Berry 1955
I need to borrow my in-laws box set of him to see if I like the non-hits better than the overplayed hits.
5769. Pencil-Thin Moustache-Jimmy Buffet 1974
A song about drinking-what a surprise! Just found out he asked Martina to sing a song on his next album. I guess everybody can spot talent when they see it.
5768. So Far Away-Dire Straits 1986
Ironically, this was the one of the three singles I DIDN'T buy, and I like it best now.
5767. Matter of Fact-E.L.O. 1986
Ok, Saved By the Bell fans-this song sounds like the one the girls did a "video" to in workout clothes-"Put your mind to it, go for it, you gotta break a sweat...." LOL! Not that I watched that show.......
5766. There Must Be an Angel (Playing With My Heart)-Eurythmics 1985
To me, their best songs were just average.
5765. Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon-Neil Diamond 1967
Who was it that covered this for a movie? Urge Overkill? Anyway, I like this better than most of Neil's hits, and you almost never hear it.
5764. Damn Good-David Lee Roth 1988
This was a lesser single, didn't get much play. But I remember my dad liking it a lot.
5763. Goodbye (Unreleased)-Beatles 1969*
The asterik is due to the fact that I am not sure of the recording date. It was probably during the Let it Be sessions. Anyway, this is the song Paul wrote and Mary Hopkin had a hit with. I have this version on a bootleg.
5762. I Want Action-Poison 1987
I've said it before, but I was never into Poison. I was getting into Classic Rock at the time, but they were too fruity for me anyway. Almost like a hard rock Culture Club.
5761. Zombie-Cranberries 1994
I remember a show on VH-1 where David Spade was saying how he couldn't believe the same person who sang something so mellow as Linger was screeching this song. Gotta agree.
Put your mind to it, go for it!
