Hey gang! I finally finished tweaking my list, and am SO excited to bring it back!
I still haven't finished re-numbering them, but I HOPE to by tomorrow. So please bear with me today.
Thank for for letting me indulge in this ego-driven post!
Without further ado..........
the return of the INSANE list!!!!!!!
I'll Tumble 4 Ya-Culture Club 1983 (Previous ranking 4926)
Culture Club was too "gay" for any of us guys to get into. This was extra "gay".
The Wanderer-Dion 1961/62
Actually, this should be higher, but I drove myself nuts fixing this list, and I ain't fixin' no more! Dion's a legend.
Same Old Lang Syne-Dan Fogelberg 1980/81
Not my fave by Dan, who I do like. A sort of, kind of New Years song.
It's a Miracle-Culture Club 1984 (Previous ranking 4928)
Nowhere near as good as the Barry Manilow song of the same name!
If You’re Gonna Play in Texas (You Gotta Have a Fiddle in the Band)-Alabama 1984 (new listing)
I like Alabama, probably more than any other male country act. This one's kinda corny though.
Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing-Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell 1968
This is nice enough. Just nothing that special to me.
The Mountain’s High-Dick & Deedee 1961
From the first "bad period" of rock music. Corny.
All My Ex’s Live in Texas-George Strait 1987 (new listing)
My dad gets a big kick out of singing this. And I point out to him that he likes this everytime he makes fun of me for liking country.
Day By Day-Hooters 1985/86
This somehow did BETTER on the charts than And We Danced. To me, it's nowhere in the same league.
Ring of Fire-Johnny Cash 1963 (new listing)
I've only heard Johnny's stuff in the past couple years since he has been on another comeback. A legend, but nothing I'd listen to a lot.
Love Me Two Times- Doors 1967/68
Loved this lots back in the mid 80's, but it's gotten annoying to me over the years.
Good Morning Girl-Journey 1980
A dreary song on what is otherwise their best album.
Nickel & Dime-Journey 1977
A showcase for Neal Schon's guitarwork. This instrumental appears on the last pre-Steve Perry album.
Hey Paula-Paul & Paula 1962/63
Pretty soon, songs from this time period are going to just disappear from oldies stations.
I'm Down (Live)-Yes 1976/91
This is a live cover of the classic Beatles' B side. Not horrible.
I Would Find You-Journey 1977
This album is great, but this is one of the weak cuts.
I Walk the Line-Johnny Cash 1956 (new listing)
Decent song, and Johnny was tied in with the Sun Records gang around this time.
Church of Logic, Sin, and Love-The Men 1991
This was one of the new songs the Rock station here played back then. I won this disc and Del Amitri's Change Everything from them. The music is similar in style to bands like Del, Bo Deans, Gin Blossoms, etc.
On Fire-Van Halen 1978
I know everyone loves the first album, but I was SUCH a fan, I got burned out on it. This one's a bit annoying anyway.
Folsom Prison Blues-Johnny Cash 1956/68 (new listing)
I heard the main line quoted in an episode of Wings and I never knew what it was from.
So let's hear it! Like em? Love em? Hate em? Never heard of em?
