Hey gang, what happened to all the Album Reviews? Lora's been doing a few lately, but where is everyone else? 5677. Dreams-Allman Brothers 1969 Not as classic as their other stuff from the time. Covered by Molly Hatchet as Dreams I'll Never See. 5676. After the Fall-Journey 1983 This was one of the later singles from Frontiers. They were REALLY starting to lose me at this point. 5675. Volcano-Jimmy Buffet 1979/80 Another one that I learned at the bar we hung out at. Someone LOVED Buffet there! 5674. Party-Boston 1978 With a first album as great as theirs, the second was doomed to failure. Only two cuts get any play these days, and this isn't one of them. 5673. The Closer I Get to You-Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway 1978 Roberta's stuff never did much for me. 5672. Uptight (Everything’s Alright)-Stevie Wonder 1965/66 I liked Stevie's 70's stuff much better. 5671. Personality-Lloyd Price 1959 Probably gonna be H2's fave on here! Nice song you don't hear much these days. 5670. Is it Love-Mr. Mister 1986 Boy, they came and went like a flash! Three hits from one album then POOF! Sort of like the Spin Doctors in the 90s. 5669. Jungle Boogie-Kool & the Gang 1973/74 I mentioned the other day how Celebration had exploded them onto the world, but this was their first real exposure. Not too bad. 5668. Chuck E’s in Love-Rickie Lee Jones 1979 Another here and gone case. Actually, Martina lists Rickie Lee's first album as her favorite of all time, which inpires me to go buy it. 5667. Radio Free Europe-R.E.M. 1983 I know most REM fans consider this REAL REM. When they were a college band. I prefer the middle period, when they were just getting mainstream exposure (Life's Rich Pagent-Orange). 5666. God of Thunder-Kiss 1977 I learned this song when World Championship Wrestling, in conjunction with Kiss, created a character named The Demon. (Remember THAT abomination, Pete? Played by both Brian Adams and Dale Torborg.) 5665. Tall Paul-Annette 1959 Somewhere I have a clip of Annette and a puppet doing this on TV. 5664. Eve of Destruction-Barry McGuire 1965 A man mentioned in Mama's & Papa's Creeque Alley. Very much a period piece. 5663. The Only One-Jimmy Page 1988 This was from Jimmy Page's suprisingly good solo album. About half the songs had vocals, and this particular one was handled by one Bobby Plant. 5662. Her Town, Too-James Taylor & J.D. Souther 1981 Remember this one well from that time. Poor J.D.-I think he'll always be remembered more for his friends than anything else. 5661. Love Don’t Live Here Anymore-Madonna 1984/96 From her second album, Like a Virgin, but not released as a single until 96. Typical Madonna ballad. 5660. Foolish Games-Jewel 1996 Boy, Jewel was sorta like Mr.Mister and Spin Doctors, in terms of hit singles, wasn't she? 5659. Deck the Halls-SheDaisy 1999/00 (previous ranking 4695) This is one of the more bizarre arrangements of this song. And I am sure to annoy my wife every Christmas by singing it like them. 5658. You Don't Mess Around With Jim-Jim Croce 1972 Sort of a signature song for him. Still don't own any Jim... Let's hear it!

5677. Dreams-Allman Brothers 1969
I don't think I've heard this version, but Molly Hatchet's cover is pretty good.
5676. After the Fall-Journey 1983
My favorite from Frontiers, next to 'Separate Ways'.
5675. Volcano-Jimmy Buffet 1979/80
One of my lesser faves from him.
5674. Party-Boston 1978
I've probably heard this, but can't recall it.
5673. The Closer I Get to You-Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway 1978
Love this - very good vocals from both Roberta and Donny, and a nice arrangement.
5672. Uptight (Everything’s Alright)-Stevie Wonder 1965/66
One of his best 60s tunes.
5671. Personality-Lloyd Price 1959
A classic tune, not bad at all.
5670. Is it Love-Mr. Mister 1986
Pretty good, but the first two hits were better.
5669. Jungle Boogie-Kool & the Gang 1973/74
Very funky!
5668. Chuck E’s in Love-Rickie Lee Jones 1979
I have this on 45 - great song. 'Young Blood' from the same album is even better, though.
5667. Radio Free Europe-R.E.M. 1983
Not familiar with this one.
5666. God of Thunder-Kiss 1977
Just heard this for the first time not long ago.
5665. Tall Paul-Annette 1959
I've only heard this a few times.
5664. Eve of Destruction-Barry McGuire 1965
I hated this song when I first heard it back around 1989-90. Still not a fave, but it's grown on me since then.
5663. The Only One-Jimmy Page 1988
I don't know this one.
5662. Her Town, Too-James Taylor & J.D. Souther 1981
A great one - brings back a lot of memories of my 7th grade year.
5661. Love Don’t Live Here Anymore-Madonna 1984/96
Not bad, but one of the weaker songs from that album.
5660. Foolish Games-Jewel 1988
I like a few of Jewel's hits, but this never really appealed to me much.
5659. Deck the Halls-SheDaisy 1999/00 (previous ranking 4695)
Not familiar.
5658. You Don't Mess Around With Jim-Jim Croce 1972
Great lyrics on this one.

5677. Dreams - Allman Brothers Don't know it. 5676. After the Fall - Journey Or this one. 5675. Volcano - Jimmy Buffet I might as well never respond to any of these about Jimmy Buffett. Seriously, I think the only song I know is Margaritaville. 5674. Party - Boston Don't know it. 5673. The Closer I Get to You - Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway Roberta doesn't compare to Gladys Knight, or many other similar singers, in my mind. 5672. Uptight (Everything’s Alright) - Stevie Wonder I was bigger on his '70s stuff too. 5671. Personality - Lloyd Price I agree. Good song. You just don't hear enough of it. So many of the oldies are almost overplayed. 5670. Is it Love - Mr. Mister Don't know it. 5669. Jungle Boogie - Kool & the Gang Eh. This one's okay. 5668. Chuck E’s in Love - Rickie Lee Jones Martina's favorite album, huh? Sorry, but I have a strange feeling I wouldn't like it at all. But then again, she loves Pat Benatar, so... 5667. Radio Free Europe - R.E.M. I don't know the early R.E.M. stuff. 5666. God of Thunder - Kiss Hey, it's a song about mythology! 5665. Tall Paul - Annette Annette? Annette Funicello? 5664. Eve of Destruction - Barry McGuire I don't know this song. 5663. The Only One - Jimmy Page Doesn't sound familiar. 5662. Her Town, Too - James Taylor & J.D. Souther I know I've never heard this... 5661. Love Don’t Live Here Anymore - Madonna I don't know this one, surprisingly. 5660. Foolish Games - Jewel You need to double-check the year on this track. I'm pretty sure it was from '96. Good song, by the way. 5659. Deck the Halls - SheDaisy I normally like them, but this arrangement is just all over the place. I do not like it at all. 5658. You Don't Mess Around With Jim - Jim Croce Don't know it.

5677. Dreams-Allman Brothers 1969 Don't Think I know it 5676. After the Fall-Journey 1983 So-so 5675. Volcano-Jimmy Buffet 1979/80 Only heard it a few times. Not crazy about it. 5674. Party-Boston 1978 Don't think I know it 5673. The Closer I Get to You-Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway 1978 When I think of Roberta, I basically think of four songs, two solo and two with Donnie. This one ranks number 4 out of 4. 5672. Uptight (Everything’s Alright)-Stevie Wonder 1965/66 This got annoying after a while. 5671. Personality-Lloyd Price 1959 Hey Adam, you always think I like the older songs better. I wonder why that is?? Personality is a pretty good song, but I like Stagger Lee better. But I'd like to see Lloyd get a little more recognition. He seems to get overlooked in the 50s R&B/rocker category. 5670. Is it Love-Mr. Mister 1986 Liked their other hits better 5669. Jungle Boogie-Kool & the Gang 1973/74 OK, but not their best. 5668. Chuck E’s in Love-Rickie Lee Jones 1979 Nothing to right home about 5667. Radio Free Europe-R.E.M. 1983 Don't know it. 5666. God of Thunder-Kiss 1977 Don't know this one either 5665. Tall Paul-Annette 1959 Not bad. She had a cute voice as a kid, and a couple of other attributes. I have the 45, but a more valuable record I have is her first recording about a year or two earlier for Disneyland Records "How Will I Know My Love" 5664. Eve of Destruction-Barry McGuire 1965 Barry had a voice well fitted for protest songs. But I don't like preachy music, and this is preachy music. Liked his work with The New Christy Minstrels better. 5663. The Only One-Jimmy Page 1988 Don't know it. 5662. Her Town, Too-James Taylor & J.D. Souther 1981 This was a pleasant -to-listen-to little song. 5661. Love Don’t Live Here Anymore-Madonna 1984/96 Don't know it 5660. Foolish Games-Jewel 1988 Don't know it 5659. Deck the Halls-SheDaisy 1999/00 (previous ranking 4695) Don't know it 5658. You Don't Mess Around With Jim-Jim Croce 1972 This was OK, but in his brief career, Jim recorded a dozen songs or so that I like more than this.

As our senior member, you know I have to tease you! But it's just like my fave records are from my "prime" too. (I am getting bad deja vu-didn't we have this EXACT discussion on here before??) 5668. It may be nothing to right home about, but is it anything to WRITE home about?? 5665. Are you trying to tell us you were looking at her other attributes when she was a kid??

5676. After the Fall-Journey 1983 I never cared much for the Frontiers album. Quickie follow-up...
5674. Party-Boston 1978 I was gonna say, "Wait, wasn't THIS on the first album?"... No, I'm thinking of "Smokin'". I have Don't Look Back on vinyl, I don't think I've ever gotten as far as this track.
5673. The Closer I Get to You-Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway 1978 Boring tune, but they both have done things I've liked..
5672. Uptight (Everything’s Alright)-Stevie Wonder 1965/66 This was actually his second big hit. People don't realize that after "Fingertips", people thought he was going to be a one-hit Wonder (no pun intended)
5671. Personality-Lloyd Price 1959 Passable
5670. Is it Love-Mr. Mister 1986 I love this one. They had 3 albums (maybe 4, I can't remember). I know that the second album was the big one. Then they put out an album in '87 called "Go On". It had a top 40 hit, "Something Real (Inside Me/Inside You)". Now THERE'S a lost 45!
5669. Jungle Boogie-Kool & the Gang 1973/74 I can dig it...
5668. Chuck E’s in Love-Rickie Lee Jones 1979 She did a lot of stuff, but this was pretty much her only big hit. I like it..
5667. Radio Free Europe-R.E.M. 1983 I like those early REM songs.
5666. God of Thunder-Kiss 1977 Yeah, The Demon.. I remember reading something about how he was a die-hard Kiss fan, and he married his wife at a Kiss convention or something. This was one of the better cuts on Destroyer.
5664. Eve of Destruction-Barry McGuire 1965 I always thought I didn't like this song because of the guys voice. Then I heard the Turtles version, didn't like it any better..
5663. The Only One-Jimmy Page 1988 I never bought "Outrider", but I remember this and "Wasting My Time" got some AOR airplay in the summer of '88. They were REALLY teasing us for a Zeppelin reunion that year!
5662. Her Town, Too-James Taylor & J.D. Souther 1981 I like it..
5660. Foolish Games-Jewel 1996 I don't like it..
5658. You Don't Mess Around With Jim-Jim Croce 1972 He was great, so sad the way he died...

She was the reason that every 11-15 year old boy watched The Mickey Mouse Club.

5677 - Dreams - Out of all the Allman's material I've heard . I've heard this the least , but it's still great , love Greg's vocal RIP Duane 5676 - After The Fall - A big fave from the Frontiers album - I really love Steve's drumming just great. Memories of High School as well. 5675 - Volcano - Don't know it. 5674 - Party - I remember playing this song to death LOL when I bought it back in '78 - Great rock. 5673 - The Closer I Get to You - A real pretty song - I at one time heard quite a bit. 5672 - Uptight (Everything's Alright) - I love the energy in this song - good stuff ! 5671 - Personality - My oldies station played this regularly there for awhile - Excellent 50's track. 5670 - Is it Love - I remember my cousin going to their concert at the time - they sure didn't last long did they ? I still really like the songs . Starting to hear them on the radio again which is nice. 5669 - Jungle Boogie - I have this on disc - not a huge fave but it's ok. 5668 - Chuck E's in Love - A song that never did much for me really. 5667 - Radio Free Europe - I agree with you Adam - I like their middle period the best . I tried to get into this era - but it just didn't really impress me. 5666 - God Of Thunder - I ,until maybe 10 years ago always thought that this was written by Gene Simmons -I guess because of the sound of the song. Was very suprised when I discovered it was written by Paul Stanley - I guess I don't read the album covers as closely as I thought LOL A great track - real eerie intro with the kids voices ( who from what I've read were producer Bob Ezrin's son's. Peter's drummimg - phenomonal. 5665 - Tall Paul - I think I had this 45 but sold it a few years ago . 5664 - Eve of Destruction - One of the first songs I learned when I first started to play guitar - Great protest tune. Found a copy of the 45 in the early 80's. 5663 - The Only One - I remember seeing the album in the stores at the time - but don't recall hearing any of the songs. 5662 - Her Town Too - I think so too Adam . Remember taping this off the radio at the time - such a great song - still love it to this day. 5661 - Love Don't Live Here Anymore - Not familiar. 5660 - Foolish Games - This was not bad - she sure has changed the old image. 5659 - Deck The Halls - I've never heard their version. 5658 - You Don't Mess Around With Jim - I have it on 45 and his 70's greatest hits album. So much talent . I love his music

Why do you have a feeling you wouldn't like it at all? And finish your Benatar sentence! 5660. You are so right! Bad typo! LOL! I don't know. It just seems like I wouldn't like her taste in music. BUT, that's where I was going with Pat Benatar. "But then again, she loves Pat Benatar, so..." ...this guy might be alright!

5677. Dreams-Allman Brothers 1969 Great tune.
5676. After the Fall-Journey 1983 Always has been my 1st or 2nd fave from the album. Never played enough.
5675. Volcano-Jimmy Buffet 1979/80 Good one.
5674. Party-Boston 1978 Love it!
5673. The Closer I Get to You-Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway 1978 Man, this is PRETTY.
5672. Uptight (Everything’s Alright)-Stevie Wonder 1965/66 One of his better early ones.
5671. Personality-Lloyd Price 1959 Always liked it.
5670. Is it Love-Mr. Mister 1986 Great one overshadowed by the album's 2 #1's.
5669. Jungle Boogie-Kool & the Gang 1973/74 There were times (like the 80's) that this hardly ever got played. Now I hear it quite often.
5668. Chuck E’s in Love-Rickie Lee Jones 1979 Always loved this tune, but not quite in my top 700 albums.
5667. Radio Free Europe-R.E.M. 1983 Pretty good.
5666. God of Thunder-Kiss 1977 I like it.
5665. Tall Paul-Annette 1959 Woo hoo!!!

5663. The Only One-Jimmy Page 1988 It's good.
5662. Her Town, Too-James Taylor & J.D. Souther 1981 Man, did I hear this a LOT at camp, summer '81! Other than that, great tune.
5661. Love Don’t Live Here Anymore-Madonna 1984/96 Good one, but Rose Royce's original's even better.
5660. Foolish Games-Jewel 1996 Her best ever. Gorgeous song.
5659. Deck the Halls-SheDaisy 1999/00 (previous ranking 4695) Gimme more older Xmas tunes.
5658. You Don't Mess Around With Jim-Jim Croce 1972 "The bomb".

Ok, that's what I thought you meant, but I didn't understand why you wouldn't like her taste, since you like her! Oh, and Ricki Lee Jones is a girl! OH! Well, that changes everything. I just didn't figure I'd like her taste in male singers. I mean, a lot of country artists like other country artists, and I'm not big on the country men.
