Wow, 8 debuts, plus 2 songs with new rankings. Don't fret, H2, only 3 of those 8 are actually "new(er)". The 5 other are older. (But that doesn't necessarily mean you'll know em! LOL!)
5497. Lost in You-Rod Stewart 1988
Back in the early 90s, I thought this was alright, considering the period. I don't think as much of it, but other than Forever Young, it's his best post-Young Turks song. Got all that?
5496. One Boy, One Girl-Collin Raye 2000 (new addition)
Very sweet song, lyrically. I guess this was the favorite song of former pro wrestler, Owen Hart (he who died by the tragic fall in the ring) making this song bring a lump in the throat.
5495. I'd Die For You-Bon Jovi 1986
One of the album cuts from Slippery When Wet. This was good, better than the singles, IMO.
5494. Cryin'-Aerosmith 1993
The album that had 5 hits, 3 of which were one word. Too sappy.
5493. Pearl Necklace-ZZ Top 1981
Naughty double entendre from ZZ. Decent song, gimmie the 70s stuff though.
5492 I’ll Remember-Madonna 1994 (previous ranking)
This is one of my wife's fave Madonna songs, from the With Honors soundtrack. Not too bad.
5491. The Birds and the Bees-Jewel Akens 1965
A song I've heard on the oldies station 1000 times by now and am sick of it.
5490. Pride and Joy-Stevie Ray Vaughan 1983
Never was a huge Stevie Ray fan, but I respect him a lot. This is one of his better ones.
5489. Rocker-AC/DC 1976/81
I first learned this by letting the tape play after listening to Big Balls over and over again.
5488. Without Love (There is Nothing)-Elvis 1969 (new addition)
Another from the 69 Memphis Sessions. Most of the stuff was great, some, like this, was average.
5487. www.memory-Alan Jackson 2000 (new addition)
Yes, that is the actual title, and that is how it is written. Of all the modern country men, I like Alan best. His singing and the way he presents himself.
5486. Where the Blacktop Ends-Keith Urban 1999 (new addition)
Keith isn't bad. An Australian country singer! Olivia should be proud. Just like the last song is written in all lower case, for awhile, Keith used to go as "keith urban".
5485. Breaking Up is Hard to Do (Fast)-Neil Sedaka 1962
I actually prefer the 70s lounge singer version!
5484. After the Thrill is Gone-Eagles 1975 (new addition)
And another song I learned from that wonderful 2 disc set. Knew it by title for years of course.
5483. Who Knows Where the Time Goes-Fairport Convention 1969 (new addition)
I've had the 2 disc Sandy Denny collection because I liked her voice. This is the only song I have been able to get into so far. Nice British folk rock.
5482. Demon’s Eye-Deep Purple 1971 (new addition)
Never bothered to listen to this when I had the original Greatest Hits, but have on the Rhino collection. Pretty darn good!
5481. Cold Shot (Live)-Stevie Ray Vaughan 1986
Gets lots of rock station play here. Not bad.
5480. Wasted Years-Iron Maiden 1986 (previous ranking 3272)
Not bad, even for non-Maiden fans.
5479. Seven Bridges Road (Live)-Eagles 1980 (new addition)
Yet ANOTHER from the 2 disc set! Nice harmonies, but nothing overly exciting.
5478. White Trash Wedding-Dixie Chicks 2002 (new addition)
It's songs like this that make the Dixies annoying. Not a fave for me.
Have at it!
