HELLO, O, O, O......... No activity on here since 10 to 11 last night! 5137 I Will Follow Him-Little Peggy March 1963 Wow, typical oldie. Very "of it's time". But I actually haven't heard it in awhile. 5136 Yakety Yak-Coasters 1958 Featured in the background on Happy Days quite a bit. I like the Coasters, but this is one I am sick of. 5135 Nicole-Point Blank 1981 Wow, here is one I have not heard since back then! My cousin, the one who made fun of Elvira, her name is Nicole and she would always sing this after making fun of that song. Ken, maybe a future Do You Remember feature? 5134 I Love You Better-Monkees 1970 This was the B side to their final original single. Neither did anything on the chart. Bubblegummy. 5133 Poetry in Motion-Johnny Tillotson 1960 One of the better songs of the era. 5132 Nice to Be With You-Gallery 1972 Like so many other one hit wonders of that time. 5131 Keep on Dancin’-Gentrys 1965 Typical mid 60s party/dance song. Member Jimmy Hart became a famous wrestling manager for Hulk Hogan and Andy Kaufman during his little grappling stint. 5130 It’s Alright to Be a Redneck-Alan Jackson 2000 (new addition) For whatever reason, this isn't on any of his compilations. I remember hearing it a lot. I like the corniness of it. 5129 Are You a Boy or Are You a Girl?-Barbarians 1965 The only place I heard this was a TV special about the 60s and how much the culture was changing. Neat little song. 5128 I Get Around-Beach Boys 1964 Never a bad song, just an overplayed era for them. 5127 Take a Letter Maria-R.B. Greaves 1969 Wow that year seems wrong too! Lots of oldie play. Decent song. 5126 You’ve Got a Friend-James Taylor 1971 Such a nice song and sentiment. I have used this song in a quote recently. 5125 Shower the People-James Taylor 1976 Very similar in sentiment, probably why I got em ranked next to each other. 5124 Mrs. Robinson-Simon & Garfunkel 1968 Just plain tired of it. 5123 Charlie Brown-Coasters 1958 Not bad, still not as great as their lesser heard stuff. 5122 Party Lights-Claudine Clark 1962 A song that for whatever reason DIDN'T get a lot of oldie play. Heard this on my dad's juke box. Neat song. 5121 Do it Again-Steely Dan 1972/73 One of three of their early singles that I am just sick of. 5120 Papa's Got a Brand New Bag-James Brown 1965 I respect James but I would never play him. 5119 Super Trouper-ABBA 1981 (previous ranking 1661) Wow, was that original ranking out of whack! Not a horrible song, but did not belong that high for me. 5118 To Know Him is to Love Him-Teddy Bears 1958 One you never hear these days. Group featured Phil Spector. Nice enough. Go for it!

5137 I Will Follow Him-Little Peggy March 1963 I liked the way they covered it in Sister Act 5136 Yakety Yak-Coasters 1958 Sort-of novelty song that I don't like 5135 Nicole-Point Blank 1981 Good lord. I barely remember how this goes it's been so long since I heard it 5134 I Love You Better-Monkees 1970 Don't know it 5133 Poetry in Motion-Johnny Tillotson 1960 Don't remember it 5132 Nice to Be With You-Gallery 1972 Zzzzzzz not a fave of mine 5131 Keep on Dancin’-Gentrys 1965 Typical of the era 5130 It’s Alright to Be a Redneck-Alan Jackson 2000 Don't know it 5129 Are You a Boy or Are You a Girl?-Barbarians 1965 I heard it in a movie recently and I can't remember which one 5128 I Get Around-Beach Boys 1964 A defining song for them for that era 5127 Take a Letter Maria-R.B. Greaves 1969 I've always liked this one. I thought it was Tony Orlando until a few years ago. 5126 You’ve Got a Friend-James Taylor 1971 I like Carol King's original better but she practically wrote it for him so that's pretty cool. 5125 Shower the People-James Taylor 1976 Just lovely... 5124 Mrs. Robinson-Simon & Garfunkel 1968 Not even close to my fave from them 5123 Charlie Brown-Coasters 1958 Another "novelty" song that I could never get into 5122 Party Lights-Claudine Clark 1962 I've only heard this once 5121 Do it Again-Steely Dan 1972/73 I like this but are you surprised. 5120 Papa's Got a Brand New Bag-James Brown 1965 Overplayed 5119 Super Trouper-ABBA 1981 Love this! 5118 To Know Him is to Love Him-Teddy Bears 1958 Hate this.

5137 I Will Follow Him-Little Peggy March 1963 It was way overplayed back then. Never one of my faves.
5136 Yakety Yak-Coasters 1958 Great song. Love that sax!
5135 Nicole-Point Blank 1981 Don't think I've heard it.
5134 I Love You Better-Monkees 1970 Don't remember it
5133 Poetry in Motion-Johnny Tillotson 1960 Great song! In my top 250!
5132 Nice to Be With You-Gallery 1972 Real good song. Not really a one hit wonder. They had a couple of others that just missed the top 20.
5131 Keep on Dancin’-Gentrys 1965 Like this one a lot. Always liked the fake ending.
5130 It’s Alright to Be a Redneck-Alan Jackson 2000 (new addition) Don't know it.
5129 Are You a Boy or Are You a Girl?-Barbarians 1965 Pretty big song up in Boston. The group is from somewhere up there (don't have my Whitburn with me, and I don't remember where.) I have this on one of my No One Else Remembers cds. The drummer's name was Moulty, and he only had one hand. In fact, their followup song was called "Moulty", and in it he spoke (yeah, spoke) about having to overcome adversity.
5128 I Get Around-Beach Boys 1964 Love this song! My buddies and I used to always laugh about the fact that the little guitar riff they used had the same tune as a gum commercial from then. (Look for the spear and get chewing enjoyment.)
5127 Take a Letter Maria-R.B. Greaves 1969 Really didn't care for this one that much. Overplayed back then.
5126 You’ve Got a Friend-James Taylor 1971 Love it! Top 250!
5125 Shower the People-James Taylor 1976 And strangely enough, I don't like this one at all.
5124 Mrs. Robinson-Simon & Garfunkel 1968 Why do I feel I just answered this one. Oh yeah... because I just did, on DJ Dave's Crazy List. ... Talk amongst yourselves while I go cut and paste my response...... ah.. here it is..... I've got one word for you..... "Plastics" What a classic! 5123 Charlie Brown-Coasters 1958 A classic as well.
5122 Party Lights-Claudine Clark 1962 Love this one!
5121 Do it Again-Steely Dan 1972/73 Not bad, not a fave.
5120 Papa's Got a Brand New Bag-James Brown 1965 I like this one more or less.
5119 Super Trouper-ABBA 1981 (previous ranking 1661) Not sure I know it. 5118 To Know Him is to Love Him-Teddy Bears 1958 OK song. I guess Phil hadn't killed anyone yet back then.

My computer kinda froze last night...
5137 I Will Follow Him-Little Peggy March 1963 Good tune.
5136 Yakety Yak-Coasters 1958 Great one, a fave of my mom's.
5135 Nicole-Point Blank 1981 My album rock station in Syracuse played this moderately up till about 1988. Haven't heard since.
5134 I Love You Better-Monkees 1970 Not sure I know this.
5133 Poetry in Motion-Johnny Tillotson 1960 Great one, another top tune of my mom's!
5132 Nice to Be With You-Gallery 1972 Absolutely FANTASTIC song. If I have to say this again, they were NOT just a "session band" like Edison Lighthouse or White Plains. They were a fully contained 6-member band who sadly had only one album, yet to see the light of day on CD. Man I can't wait for it, such GREAT music in their 3 hits.
5131 Keep on Dancin’-Gentrys 1965 lLOVE it to death.
5130 It’s Alright to Be a Redneck-Alan Jackson 2000 (new addition) Not my lifestyle it isn't.
5129 Are You a Boy or Are You a Girl?-Barbarians 1965 Great tune, Known this since the mid 80's. H2, they were formed on the tip of Cape Cod--Provincetown.
5128 I Get Around-Beach Boys 1964 Great listening, just don't play this every 5 minutes and I'll be fine.
5127 Take a Letter Maria-R.B. Greaves 1969 Love it.
5126 You’ve Got a Friend-James Taylor 1971 Fine song.
5125 Shower the People-James Taylor 1976 Don't like this quite as much as "friend".
5124 Mrs. Robinson-Simon & Garfunkel 1968 I couldn't get tired of it myself.
5123 Charlie Brown-Coasters 1958 Just great.
5122 Party Lights-Claudine Clark 1962 This seems to be one tune many oldies fans don't know, yet I know quite a few people who do know this, and it's generally a well-liked tune.
5121 Do it Again-Steely Dan 1972/73 Absolutely love it; eternal top 1000 for me.
5120 Papa's Got a Brand New Bag-James Brown 1965 One of his best!
5119 Super Trouper-ABBA 1981 (previous ranking 1661) Good one, I could never rank this top 2000 myself though.
5118 To Know Him is to Love Him-Teddy Bears 1958 Why I love this so much? I LOVE Annett Kleinbard's voice!!!

5137 I Will Follow Him-Little Peggy March 1963 Not a bad tune.
5136 Yakety Yak-Coasters 1958 Catchy and fun, if a bit overplayed.
5135 Nicole-Point Blank 1981 Definitely a lost hit. I was listening to an archived playlist on the Crap from the Past website last year, and this was on it - before that, I hadn't heard it in ages.
5134 I Love You Better-Monkees 1970 I don't think I know this one.
5133 Poetry in Motion-Johnny Tillotson 1960 Good early tune - I don't hear this very often nowadays.
5132 Nice to Be With You-Gallery 1972 Good one, but I prefer 'I Believe in Music'.
5131 Keep on Dancin’-Gentrys 1965 I like this, but the oldies stations here play it too often.
5130 It’s Alright to Be a Redneck-Alan Jackson 2000 (new addition) I should know this, but it's not coming to me.
5129 Are You a Boy or Are You a Girl?-Barbarians 1965 Not the best from that era.
5128 I Get Around-Beach Boys 1964 This is going to be getting a lot of play in my car this summer!
5127 Take a Letter Maria-R.B. Greaves 1969 This does seem to be more mid-60s in sound. Overplayed, but not bad.
5126 You’ve Got a Friend-James Taylor 1971 Wonderful song, one of JT's best. I also like Carole's version.
5125 Shower the People-James Taylor 1976 I've always liked this one a lot.
5124 Mrs. Robinson-Simon & Garfunkel 1968 A classic, one of their signature songs.
5123 Charlie Brown-Coasters 1958 Haven't heard this in quite a while. Good song.
5122 Party Lights-Claudine Clark 1962 I didn't care for this when I first heard it, but it's grown on me.
5121 Do it Again-Steely Dan 1972/73 Love this one! I remember this from when I was very little.
5120 Papa's Got a Brand New Bag-James Brown 1965 Like 'Down on the Corner', this is one of the songs the oldies stations here have run into the ground. Not a bad tune otherwise.
5119 Super Trouper-ABBA 1981 (previous ranking 1661) Not my favorite from them, but good.
5118 To Know Him is to Love Him-Teddy Bears 1958 I have this on 45 - a friend gave it to me back in the late 70s. Pleasant tune.

5129 Are You a Boy or Are You a Girl?-Barbarians 1965 Great tune, Known this since the mid 80's. H2, they were formed on the tip of Cape Cod--Provincetown. Thanks for the info, Dave. P-town ... hmm. That makes the title a little bit more understandable.

5137 I Will Follow Him-Little Peggy March 1963 Wow, typical oldie. Very "of it's time". But I actually haven't heard it in awhile. This was also sung by the nuns in the movie "Sister Act". Very cute movie! They also sang "My Guy" with the lyrics changed to "My God".

5137 I Will Follow Him - Little Peggy March
I probably would have never heard this if it hadn't been for Sister Act. Love it, but I do prefer to hear the nuns sing it.
5136 Yakety Yak - Coasters
Definitely tired of it.
5135 - 5131. Not familiar with these.
5130 It’s Alright to Be a Redneck - Alan Jackson
Quite frankly, I'm a redneck-hater. Being from Kentucky has a lot to do with that for me. People in every other state thing we go around barefooted and are as dumb as rocks. We're not like that, and the overwhelming majority of us DON'T marry our cousins either. This song sheds a little light on the good side of being from the country, and I am thankful for that. It's a very fun song and makes me feel more at ease when people call me a redneck.
5129 Are You a Boy or Are You a Girl? - Barbarians
I don't believe I've heard this before. Sounds interesting though.
5128 I Get Around - Beach Boys
Not one of their best, but still fun.
5127 Take a Letter Maria - R.B. Greaves
Never heard of the artist.
5126 You’ve Got a Friend - James Taylor
I prefer Carole King's version.
5125 Shower the People - James Taylor
Ick. Too cheesy for me.
5124 Mrs. Robinson - Simon & Garfunkel
Good song, but it's played a little too frequently.
5123 Charlie Brown - Coasters
Funny song. I like it.
5122 - 5121. Don't know them.
5120 Papa's Got a Brand New Bag - James Brown
Probably my favorite by him, though I don't care for much.
5119 - 5118. Don't know these two.

5137 - I Will Follow Him - Ilike hearing this every so often - I have this on cassette somewhere. 5136 - Yakety Yak - Yes I remember it from Happy Days as well. Very good. 5135 - Nicole - It doesn't ring a bell - I 'll have to find an audio sample if possible but sure I can include it in a Do You Remember post 5134 - I Love You Better - I have this on the box set - not the best - the guitar is kind of cool though. It sounds like a tune that could have been sung by The Brady Kids. 5133 - Poetty in Motion - Like it quite a bit. 5132 - Nice To Be With You - Great childhood memories of hearing it . Still like it now. 5131 - Keep On Dancin' - Like it very much indeed . I remember finding out that Jimmy was in the band. 5130 - I'ts Alright to Be a Redneck - The title sounds familiar but that's all. 5129 - Are You a Boy or Are You a Girl - Remember hearing this in the early 80's . A great slab of garage rock. 5128 - I Get Around - This is so good. 5127 - Take a Letter Maria - It's a great tune , my middle brother has it on 45 - it used to be in his jukebox . 5126 - You've Got a Friend - Lovely tune. 5125 - Shower The People - This was a very popular JT track in our house - Love it to this day. 5124 - Mrs Robinson - Still a fave. 5123 - Charlie Brown - I have the 45 - Awesome track. 5122 - Party Lights - It's been so long since I've heard it I had to play it . Excellent. 5121 - Do It Again - Still enjoy it. 5120 - Papa's Got a Brand New Bag - No doubt a classic. 5119 - Super Trouper - The vocal arrangement is cool. 5118 - To Know Him is To Love Him - A terrfic song!

I Will Follow Him--Put to good use in Sister Act, as a few people have already said.
Yakety Yak--Not bad, but way overplayed.
Nicole--Not sure I remember the tune, but I think my brother had the album it came from.
I Love You Better--Not familiar.
Poetry In Motion--Haven't heard it in years. Pretty good song.
Nice to Be With You--Had this 45, played it all the time. I also had a couple others of theirs--I Believe in Music, and Jimmy Loves Mary Anne.
Keep on Dancin'--I like to hear this one occasionally.
It's Alright to Be a Redneck--Not sure I know this.
Are You A Boy...Title sounds familiar, can't place the tune.
I Get Around--No thanks.
Take a Letter Maria--Heard this a lot back in the day. I always liked it.
You've Got A Friend--My all time favorite song, no matter who sings it. I prefer Carole's version just a tiny bit better though.
Shower the People--Another one of my favorites. Love the sentiment behind it.
Mrs. Robinson--Good song, good movie!
Charlie Brown--Cute, fun song. Doesn't get a whole lot of play, at least not around here, so I enjoy listening to it every once in awhile.
Party Lights--I don't think I know it.
Do It Again--Pretty good, but I'm kinda tired of it at this point.
Papa's Got a Brand New Bag--It's ok, but nothing I'd get too excited over.
Super Trouper--Not one of their best.
To Know Him is To Love Him--Pleasant song. I enjoy it.
