5117 Breaking Away-Balance 1981 Another Do You Remember canidate Ken? I remember my dad bringing this single home. Haven't heard it since then-I may like it more! 5116 Saturday Night Special-Lynyrd Skynyrd 1975 Actually haven't heard this in some time. Not really one I like much. 5115 Where it’s At-Beck 1996 He totally passed me by. I saw this a few years later on some TV show. Sort of a bizarre artist you can't categorize. 5114 Sweet Baby James-James Taylor 1970 One I've only really learned in recent years. Similar to his other hits. Actually surprised I have this higher than the two yesterday. 5113 Lookin’ For a Reason-Creedence Clearwater Revival 1972 One of their countless album cuts overlooked in favor of their hit singles. A decent one. 5112 Sure Gonna Miss Her-Gary Lewis & the Playboys 1966 This was just an average one from them. 5111 You Can Make it if You Try-Sly & the Family Stone 1969 I made a point of listening to this one since they mentioned it in Thank You (Falletinme...). Not among their best, however. 5110 Go Insane-Lindsey Buckingham 1984 This was so weak (and annoying) compared to Trouble. 5109 Who Put the Bomp (In the Bomp, Bomp, Bomp)-Barry Mann 1961 Sort of a legendary song that is forgotten these days. From that "lost" period. 5108 Green Onions-Booker T. & the MG’s 1962 Probably one of the most famous instrumentals of all time, by certainly one of the best instrumental groups of all time. Cool piece. 5107 King of the World-Steely Dan 1973 (new addition) I think this is on Gold, which I had for years, but never bothered with. Just below average, as far as Steely goes. 5106 I Love a Rainy Night-Eddie Rabbit 1980/81 Wow totally car AM memories! Good for that. 5105 Hungry Like the Wolf-Duran Duran 1982/83 Never was big on this mega-hit. 5104 Good Times-Journey 1978/92 This is a cover of the Sam Cooke hit, available only on the box set. My memory is failing, but I think this is from a radio appearance. Nice take on it. 5103 Dancing Machine-Jackson Five 1974 My big memory of this one is from a few years back, Bekki and I singing this to Skylar and making her dance. 5102 One Night in Bangkok-Murray Head 1985 Wow, totally memories of listening to top 40 radio with my buddies. Never loved the song, but again, good memories. 5101 One-Bee Gees 1989 "One" of many songs with this title. Won't make the world forget their early hits. 5100 Just Like a Woman-Bob Dylan 1966 This one is ok, his voice isn't quite as annoying. 5099 Party Doll-Buddy Knox 1957 Ok, there is probably very limited play of this song across the country these days! Corny, but not too bad. 5098 Top of the Pops-Smithereens 1991 This was only a year after the 11 album? Anyway, good, but I like the 11 stuff better. Go for it!

5113 Lookin’ For a Reason-Creedence Clearwater Revival 1972 One of their countless album cuts overlooked in favor of their hit singles... Apparently so. I like them, but I don't know this song! Laura, if you like them, you should check out Chronicle, Volume 2. It's where I discovered this, and honestly, I like most of the songs on here more than most of their overplayed hits. You'll probably be familiar with at least Born on the Bayou and Midnight Special.

5117 Breaking Away-Balance 1981 LOVE this. Found on the first "Lost 45's" CD, where upon hearing there, it had been at least 15 years since I last heard it. You wonder why they don't make perfect pop/rock like this anymore. Back in the day, I called Balance "America's answer to Loverboy".
5116 Saturday Night Special-Lynyrd Skynyrd 1975 Good one. Still some classic rock play in both Florida and Syracuse.
5115 Where it’s At-Beck 1996 One of my fave artists of the last 10 years. Music so different, it's great. A modern day Frank Zappa. And this tune is SOOOOO cool! AC/DC's?
5114 Sweet Baby James-James Taylor 1970 Nice one.
5113 Lookin’ For a Reason-Creedence Clearwater Revival 1972 Not sure I know this (Yeah, I only have the first Chronicle...).
5112 Sure Gonna Miss Her-Gary Lewis & the Playboys 1966 LOVE this--too bad it missed the top 5 after all of their first 5 making that magic circle.
5111 You Can Make it if You Try-Sly & the Family Stone 1969 Same here, Sat. OK tune.
5110 Go Insane-Lindsey Buckingham 1984 Loved this right out the box. And it's still great today.
5109 Who Put the Bomp (In the Bomp, Bomp, Bomp)-Barry Mann 1961 Good novelty, awesome spoken part.
5108 Green Onions-Booker T. & the MG’s 1962 Make it stop. Easily the most overplayed instrumental on oldies radio, especially in Syracuse! Otherwise great tune.
5107 King of the World-Steely Dan 1973 (new addition) Good one, but far from their best.
5106 I Love a Rainy Night-Eddie Rabbit 1980/81 Gets better with time. RIP.
5105 Hungry Like the Wolf-Duran Duran 1982/83 It's still good, but one of many "droppers" from my top 1000 next list.
5104 Good Times-Journey 1978/92 Not sure I know this.
5103 Dancing Machine-Jackson Five 1974 Awesome. You can hear Michael's "kiddie" voice somewhat fading.
5102 One Night in Bangkok-Murray Head 1985 Love it still.
5101 One-Bee Gees 1989 Top 10 song, but one I don't play too much. Lots of lite radio play still after 15 years.
5100 Just Like a Woman-Bob Dylan 1966 Wonderful ballad.
5099 Party Doll-Buddy Knox 1957 Still great to listen to; I believe this was one of the first five rock 'n roll (not including Elvis) tunes to top the pop chart.
5098 Top of the Pops-Smithereens 1991 At least Ken will agree with me. This was a SUPER, very underrated tune (for that matter the entire Blow Up CD was). Powerful, yet rather midtempo.

5117 Breaking Away-Balance 1981 Great "lost" 80s tune. I have the 45.
5116 Saturday Night Special-Lynyrd Skynyrd 1975 I agree with you - I can't say I care for this much either.
5115 Where it’s At-Beck 1996 I don't think I know this one.
5114 Sweet Baby James-James Taylor 1970 Fine song, with a really nice melody.
5113 Lookin’ For a Reason-Creedence Clearwater Revival 1972 I don't know this, but would like to investigate Chronicle 2.
5112 Sure Gonna Miss Her-Gary Lewis & the Playboys 1966 Good, but not one of my favorites from them.
5111 You Can Make it if You Try-Sly & the Family Stone 1969 Not familiar.
5110 Go Insane-Lindsey Buckingham 1984 Love this!!
5109 Who Put the Bomp (In the Bomp, Bomp, Bomp)-Barry Mann 1961 I haven't heard this in quite a while. Nice early classic.
5108 Green Onions-Booker T. & the MG’s 1962 I've always thought this sounded years ahead of its time. Excellent.
5107 King of the World-Steely Dan 1973 (new addition) Not one of their better ones, but not bad.
5106 I Love a Rainy Night-Eddie Rabbit 1980/81 Great single. I've always liked Eddie's music a lot.
5105 Hungry Like the Wolf-Duran Duran 1982/83 This takes me right back to my freshman year. Good one.
5104 Good Times-Journey 1978/92 Not familiar with this.
5103 Dancing Machine-Jackson Five 1974 Very catchy, one you don't hear much these days.
5102 One Night in Bangkok-Murray Head 1985 Just heard this Sunday on Backtracks, after not having heard it in a while. I cranked it up!
5101 One-Bee Gees 1989 Nice, but not up to the level of their earlier material.
5100 Just Like a Woman-Bob Dylan 1966 One of his better tunes from that period.
5099 Party Doll-Buddy Knox 1957 Not a bad tune - nice to hear occasionally.
5098 Top of the Pops-Smithereens 1991 This one isn't coming to me.

Wow! Lotsa memories here for me today.
Breaking Away--Great song. Haven't heard it for years. I always liked it though.
Saturday Night Special--My husband likes this song a lot. He used to crank it up all the time.
Where It's At--Beck is hard to describe. I don't mind most of his music though. This is a good enough song.
Sweet Baby James--Good song. I like it a lot.
Lookin' For a Reason--Title sounds familiar, can't place how it goes though.
Sure Gonna Miss Her--No thanks. I'd like to skip Gary Lewis forever. LOL!
You Can Make it If You Try--Always liked this one.
Go Insane--Kinda bizarre, but not too bad.
Who Put the Bomp--I have memories of my dad singing this around the house.
Green Onions--Tired of it.
King of the World--Don't know it.
I Love a Rainy Night--A friend of mine was a big Eddie fan, so I heard this a lot around her house.
Hungry Like the Wolf--Ick. Yuck. Gag!
Good Times--Don't know it.
Dancing Machine--Oh yeah! Had the 45 and would listen to it non-stop in my room back in the day.
One Night in Bangkok--One I've known forever, and always liked it. Very different!
One--I'll pass.
Just Like a Woman--It's ok. Not a fave.
Party Doll--I enjoy this one every once in awhile.
Top of the Pops--Pretty good tune. Haven't heard it in a long time.

5117 Breaking Away-Balance 1981 Don't remember it.
5116 Saturday Night Special-Lynyrd Skynyrd 1975 Not bad
5115 Where it’s At-Beck 1996 Don't know it
5114 Sweet Baby James-James Taylor 1970 Kinda a pleasant peaceful sound. - Well it's a lullabye -- whadja expect!!
5113 Lookin’ For a Reason-Creedence Clearwater Revival 1972 Don't think I know it.
5112 Sure Gonna Miss Her-Gary Lewis & the Playboys 1966 So-so
5111 You Can Make it if You Try-Sly & the Family Stone 1969 Don't know it
5110 Go Insane-Lindsey Buckingham 1984 Not that bad
5109 Who Put the Bomp (In the Bomp, Bomp, Bomp)-Barry Mann 1961 I used to love this song. - A great spoof of the "sounds" of doo wop. They played it way too much back then, however. Now of course, they don't play it at all. Barry is much better known as a writer than a singer, however. Among some 700 songs, he co-wrote You've Lost That Loving Feeling with Phil Spector and Cynthia Weil (his usual writing partner). He and Cynthia also wrote On Broadway with the famed duo Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller.
5108 Green Onions-Booker T. & the MG’s 1962 Great instrumental. Y'know, back then instrumentals really didn't get their just dues. DJs would use them (no matter howe popular they were) to segue into newsbreaks, quite often cutting out a significant portion of the song -- and that would be the only time you'd hear it.
5107 King of the World-Steely Dan 1973 (new addition) Don't know it.
5106 I Love a Rainy Night-Eddie Rabbit 1980/81 Wasn't crazy about it.
5105 Hungry Like the Wolf-Duran Duran 1982/83 One of their best, IMO.
5104 Good Times-Journey 1978/92 Don't know this version
5103 Dancing Machine-Jackson Five 1974 Never really cared much for this.
5102 One Night in Bangkok-Murray Head 1985 Very strange song. Don't really like it very much.
5101 One-Bee Gees 1989 First time I heard this one was on their One Night Only HBO special. Went and got the original. Not bad, but I still like their '60s stuff best of all.
5100 Just Like a Woman-Bob Dylan 1966 Bob's "annoying" voice (and I agree about it being annoying) works great on this song. I love it! My second fave of all of his songs, and just missing my top 250.
5099 Party Doll-Buddy Knox 1957 Roulette Records was launched in 1957, and the first two songs on the new label were by a Texas group called the Rhythm Orchids. Roulette #4001 was "I'm Stickin' With You" featuring Jimmy Bowen (the group's bass player). Roulette 4002 was Party Doll featuring Buddy Knox, the group's rhythm guitarist. The first Roulette labels (I have both 45s) looked like little roulette wheels. Party Doll was a great rock tune for '57. All us 13 year olds loved it. Party Doll was covered by Steve Lawrence that same year. Not quite as bad as Pat Boone covering Tutti Fruitti.
5098 Top of the Pops-Smithereens 1991 Don't know it

5111 - You Can Make it If You Try - Not familiar

5107 - King Of The World - Oh yeah - I remember this!
5106 - I Love a Rainy Night - This still sounds awesome!
5105 - Hungry Like The Wolf - Their best.
5104 - Good Times - Not familiar.
5103 - Dancing Machine - Never hear it on the radio - but I have it on cassette - very catchy song.
5102 - One Night in Bangkok - I remember a buddy taping this off the radio at that time - not a great track but it's alright.
5101 - One - I seem to remember this wasn't bad.
5100 - Just Like a Woman - Even though he has no voice he sure can right em' . I like it.
5099 - Party Doll - It's not in the greatest of shape - but I have the LP. Not a bad tune at all.

5114 Sweet Baby James-James Taylor 1970 From one of his first albums, very bland
5113 Lookin’ For a Reason-Creedence Clearwater Revival 1972 A decent track that I haven't heard in awhile
5112 Sure Gonna Miss Her-Gary Lewis & the Playboys 1966 Don’t remember how this goes
5111 You Can Make it if You Try-Sly & the Family Stone 1969 I like most of their stuff but I agree that they had better hits.
5110 Go Insane-Lindsey Buckingham 1984 Trouble was much better but this is still pretty good

Breaking Away – don’t know it
Saturday Night Special – One of my top 5 favorites from Skynyrd
Where it’s At – don’t know it
Sweet Baby James – Typical JT. Not a bad song
Lookin’ For a Reason – Great album cut hopelessly lost, as were most of their album cuts
Sure Gonna Miss Her – Not gonna miss hearing this one You Can Make it if You Try – Sly & the Stoned Family made some great songs, maybe they should have tried hard on this one
Go Insane – I think he was (insane) on this one
Who Put the Bomp (In the Bomp, Bomp, Bomp) – Who did put the Bomp in the Bomp, Bomp, Bomp. These are the burning questions of rock. Great early 60s classic
Green Onions – Classic instrumental. Song that was playing during the drag race in American Graffiti
King of the World – Heard it, just having a hard time remembering it
I Love a Rainy Night – Average song
Hungry Like the Wolf – One of the few Duran Duran songs I actually like
Good Times – Don’t know it
Dancing Machine – didn’t like it
One Night in Bangkok – don’t know it
One – don’t know it
Just Like a Woman – Classic Dylan
Party Doll – Classic 50s song
Top of the Pops – don’t know it

5117 Breaking Away - Balance Not familiar with this group. They're a little before my time. 5116 Saturday Night Special - Lynyrd Skynyrd I've heard this a few times. Nothing "special" to me. 5115 Where It’s At - Beck I know very, very little by him. 5114 - 5111. Don't know these. 5110 Go Insane - Lindsey Buckingham I'd like to hear this. Sadly, the only solo Buckingham song that I know is Holiday Road... 5109 Who Put the Bomp (In the Bomp, Bomp, Bomp) - Barry Mann What a dumb title. 5108 - 5107. Don't know these. 5106 I Love a Rainy Night - Eddie Rabbit Not bad for AM, I guess. I don't really care for it though. 5105 Hungry Like the Wolf - Duran Duran Love it. 5104 -5101. Not familiar with them. 5100 Just Like a Woman - Bob Dylan Like, the only Dylan song that I will tolerate is Buckets Of Rain, and that's because it's a duet with Bette. 5099 - 5098. Don't know these last two.
