Wow, we're within the top 5000 now!
4977 Rockin' at Midnight-Honeydrippers 1985
Similar to the Jerry Butler/Tony Orlando thing in that this cover version uses a different title than the original. I thought this was cool that this big "heavy metal" singer was doing 50's covers. 4976 Easy Lover-Phillip Bailey & Phil Collins 1984/85 After years of using EWF as backup on Genesis and solo records, he finally promoted Phillip Bailey to co lead singer. Actually, the other way around since it was on a Bailey record. Liked it a lot then, average now.
4975 Release Me-Wilson Phillips 1990
Wow, this is a bit too high! 4974 Something to Grab For-Ric Ocasek 1983
This got lots of MTV play back then. Can't touch the Cars prime stuff. 4973 Sunday Afternoon in the Park-Van Halen 1981
A rare VH instrumental that ISN'T guitar. This is all electronic drums, but it's pretty cool. It wouldn't float in the CD age with an album so short having one of only nine songs being this.
4972 Devil Inside-INXS 1988
I dug Kick pretty well, but never thought much of this song.
4971 Dance Hall Days-Wang Chung 1984
Damn sight better than Everybody Have Fun Tonight!
4970 Spiderwebs-No Doubt 1995
I remember being at my aunt's seeing MTV Spring Break and they were singing this and saying, "What is up with that chick's hair??"
4969 Don’t Look Now (it Ain’t You or Me)-Creedence Clearwater Revival 1969
A song I knew for years by title, but never heard it til Chronicle II. Decent song, but there are others much better on that compilation.
4968 Every Little Kiss-Bruce Hornsby & the Range 1986/87
There has been times I've hated his stuff and times I liked it. I don't think much of it now.
4967 Can’t Fight This Feeling-REO Speedwagon 1985
Nowhere near as good as Keep on Loving You. Each ballad got lighter.
4966 The Flame-Cheap Trick 1988
I heard this first, but when I heard Nature's Way by Spirit, I was amazed how much they sounded alike, vocally and instrumentally. But this can't touch that one.
4965 Little Deuce Coupe-Beach Boys 1963
Just another early beach classic I'm tired of.
4964 Cloud Nine-George Harrison 1987
A not bad title cut from his comeback album. May have gotten some FM play.
4963 Tears on My Pillow-Little Anthony & the Imperials 1958
I actually liked Sha-Na-Na's version in Grease. Kathyloveskitties, are you reading?
4962 Here Comes Summer-Jerry Keller 1959
Ok, I bet H2 knows this one, and maybe dodger? This is a big fave of my dad's who used to actually have Here Comes Summer parties!
4961 Put the Finger on You-AC/DC 1981
Piss poor followup when you think how huge Back in Black was. But it was like Frampton following up Comes Alive with I'm in You.
4960 You’ve Really Got a Hold On Me-Smokey Robinson & the Miracles 1962/63
Good song, but I actually prefer the Beatles live in studio take the run through in the Let it Be film. (When the HELL is that gonna be on DVD?? I was smart enough to video tape it, but I want bonus footage!!)
4959 Sugar Magnolia-Grateful Dead 1973
I listened to this after seeing it on a radio set list, like so many others. Decent, not a big Dead-head.
4958 Goody-Two Shoes-Adam Ant 1982/83
Adam wasn't bad, this got a tad overplayed on MTV however. He has better ones.
Go for it!

4977 Rockin' at Midnight-Honeydrippers 1985 Not really a fave, but not bad.
4976 Easy Lover-Phillip Bailey & Phil Collins 1984/85 Loved this from first listen!
4975 Release Me-Wilson Phillips 1990 Very nice vocals on this, and the lyrics are great.
4974 Something to Grab For-Ric Ocasek 1983 Don't know it.
4973 Sunday Afternoon in the Park-Van Halen 1981 I should know this, but can't recall it.
4972 Devil Inside-INXS 1988 This was horribly overplayed back when it was current. I've never been big on this one.
4971 Dance Hall Days-Wang Chung 1984 This brings back a lot of memories of that time for me.
4970 Spiderwebs-No Doubt 1995 Not familiar with this...
4969 Don’t Look Now (it Ain’t You or Me)-Creedence Clearwater Revival 1969 ...Or this one.
4968 Every Little Kiss-Bruce Hornsby & the Range 1986/87 Good, but I like The Way It Is more.
4967 Can’t Fight This Feeling-REO Speedwagon 1985 I'm definitely more partial to their earlier material.
4966 The Flame-Cheap Trick 1988 This sounds very different in style from their earlier hits.
4965 Little Deuce Coupe-Beach Boys 1963 Catchy, and a great early effort from them.
4964 Cloud Nine-George Harrison 1987 Excellent, one of my favorite tracks from the album.
4963 Tears on My Pillow-Little Anthony & the Imperials 1958 I think I prefer Sha Na Na's version also.
4962 Here Comes Summer-Jerry Keller 1959 I don't think I've heard this.
4961 Put the Finger on You-AC/DC 1981 Not a fan.
4960 You’ve Really Got a Hold On Me-Smokey Robinson & the Miracles 1962/63 Nice, but I prefer Smokey's mid-late 60s hits.
4959 Sugar Magnolia-Grateful Dead 1973 Don't know it.
4958 Goody-Two Shoes-Adam Ant 1982/83 Remember hearing this lots my freshman year of high school, but hardly ever hear it now. Good one.

4977 Rockin' at Midnight-Honeydrippers 1985 Not familiar with this, but when I first read your comments, I thought you were saying that The Honeydrippers had taken He Will Break Your Heart and redone it with yet another title change! LOL! 4976 Easy Lover-Phillip Bailey & Phil Collins 1984/85 I hate to say I like something that involves Phil Collins, but I kinda like this. 4975 Release Me-Wilson Phillips 1990 These ladies do some great harmony in general. This one is not bad at all. 4974 Something to Grab For-Ric Ocasek 1983 Don't know it 4973 Sunday Afternoon in the Park-Van Halen 1981 Don't know it 4972 Devil Inside-INXS 1988 Dont know it 4971 Dance Hall Days-Wang Chung 1984 " Damn sight better than Everybody Have Fun Tonight!" -- Yeah, but so is a kick in the groin! Actually Dance Hall Days isn't that bad. 4970 Spiderwebs-No Doubt 1995 Don't know it. 4969 Don’t Look Now (it Ain’t You or Me)-Creedence Clearwater Revival 1969 Don't know it 4968 Every Little Kiss-Bruce Hornsby & the Range 1986/87 Don't know it 4967 Can’t Fight This Feeling-REO Speedwagon 1985 I like most of their music. I agree that this doesn't match Keep On Lovin' You, but it's still good. 4966 The Flame-Cheap Trick 1988 Love it! 4965 Little Deuce Coupe-Beach Boys 1963 A classic indeed. Great memories of college days. 4964 Cloud Nine-George Harrison 1987 Don't know it 4963 Tears on My Pillow-Little Anthony & the Imperials 1958 Anthony did some great ballads. This is a wonderful old doo wop ballad. I don't hear it enough today. 4962 Here Comes Summer-Jerry Keller 1959 "....so let the sun shine bright on my happy summer home..." Woo Hoo! A great summer song from my teenage years. -- Yeah I really WAS a teenager once. 4961 Put the Finger on You-AC/DC 1981 Don't know it 4960 You’ve Really Got a Hold On Me-Smokey Robinson & the Miracles 1962/63 I've heard the Beatles do this, but I gotta go with Smokey. This is great old-time blues-soul. Love this song. You'll see it in my top 250. 4959 Sugar Magnolia-Grateful Dead 1973 Not a deadhead either. Don't know this at all. 4958 Goody-Two Shoes-Adam Ant 1982/83 I remember this getting a lot of hype, and I can't understand why. Don't like it at all.

I'm not big on their regular released version, it's just the version in the movie I prefer. Wow, there was more I don't know's than ever here!

4977 - 4976. Don't know these.
4975 Release Me - Wilson Phillips
I only vaguely remember this. I like Hold On better.
4974 - 4971. Don't know these either.
4970 Spiderwebs - No Doubt
Love this song. I've been hearing it on our local radio station a lot, which is strange considering it's like seven years old and their rotation usually consists of songs no older than eight months old!!!
4969 - 4968. I don't know these.
4967 Can’t Fight This Feeling - REO Speedwagon
This is my uncle's, like, all-time favorite song so I've heard it a whole lot. It's good, but nothing I'd listen to often.
4966 - 4964. Don't sound familiar.
4963 Tears on My Pillow - Little Anthony & the Imperials
I don't remember this version, but I do also like the version Sha-Na-Na did in Grease.
4962 - 4961. Don't know these.
4960 You’ve Really Got a Hold On Me - Smokey Robinson & the Miracles
This song never really did much for me. It's okay.
4959 - 4958. And I don't know these.

4977 Rockin' at Midnight-Honeydrippers 1985 Never liked this 4976 Easy Lover-Phillip Bailey & Phil Collins 1984/85 Kind of cheesy but fun to sing along to 4975 Release Me-Wilson Phillips 1990 Hee hee I actually like this song a lot so I'm not going to complain about its placement. 4974 Something to Grab For-Ric Ocasek 1983 I barely remember this 4973 Sunday Afternoon in the Park-Van Halen 1981 Can't remember how this goes 4972 Devil Inside-INXS 1988 Overplayed and overated song. 4971 Dance Hall Days-Wang Chung 1984 Good tune 4970 Spiderwebs-No Doubt 1995 I like this track a lot. onward...
Rockin' at midnight--Great!
Easy lover--the classic, typical 80's tune that just doesn't quit. Still good.
Release me--my least fave of their 5 hits off the debut CD.
Something to grab for--Still love this! Have the 45 and LP.
Sat. afternoon--Good.
Devil inside--yea, man!
Dance hall days--has not aged with me well, and it's still hotto on those 80's radio stations.
Spiderwebs! Yes! Great blend of 80's styled synth and horns!
Don't look now--Not bad.
Every little kiss--still like it, especially if the piano intro's played.
Can't fight this feeling--their later ballads just don't hold up well. Gimme "Keep on...".
The flame--Ahhh...HS grad memories. Still a wonderful song.
Little deuce coupe--One of their better early ones.
Cloud nine--Great song, great album. The album's got an easy spot in my top 700 albums--coming (hopefully) THIS FALL!!!
Tears on my pillow--one of THE super doo wops.
Here comes summer--you better believe I know it too! One-hit wonder not too distant from Ricky Nelson.
Put the finger on you--OK.
You've really got a hold on me--Great slice of early Motown.
Sugar magnolia--I can dig it, man.
Goody 2 shoes--WOO HOO! BOOM BOOM!

4960 - You've Really Got a Hold On Me - Terrific! - Adam I'm still waiting for the DVD as well - I also at least have a copy of it so I can watch it . Whatthey should have done was released it at the same as "Naked" That's definitely what they should have done. It's not like one would hurt the sale of the other-Beatles fans would buy both!

4970 Spiderwebs - No Doubt Love this song. I've been hearing it on our local radio station a lot, which is strange considering it's like seven years old and their rotation usually consists of songs no older than eight months old!!! On the Top 40 station? That IS weird! I remember Another Bites the Dust, from 1980, getting play in like 85 though, and that was weird!
