Anybody catch Martina on the Today Show this morning? Sang two songs and she was great!! 4757 My Home's in Alabama-Alabama 1980 The one song by Alabama I know that I don't have. Reason? I have their Number 1's collection, and this wasn't one of them. Good tune though. 4756 Never Gonna Fall in Love Again-Eric Carmen 1976 Not bad, but pretty lightweight in comparison to the Raspberries stuff. 4755 Dream Warriors-Dokken 1987 They sure liked those Dream songs. Dokken isn't bad, mostly because they didn't want to embrace the hair band look. 4754 Baby I Need Your Lovin'-Four Tops 1964 And here is the original. This being so close to Johnny's cover was not planned, my mind just keeps em together apparently. 4753 Freedom-George Michael 1990 (previous ranking 2836) For a song from Mr Public Restroom, this isn't bad. And the video with Linda Evangelista REALLY wasn't bad! 4752 Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours)-Peter Frampton 1973 (new addition) Learned this on his compilation. Does a nice cover. 4751 Black Country Woman-Led Zeppelin 1975 The flip side to the only single off Physical Graffitti, Trampled Underfoot. And those are my two LEAST faves songs on my fave album from them. 4750 Almost Cut My Hair Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young-1970 (new addition) Not the best from a great album. 4749 It’s a Matter of Time-Elvis 1972 Nice slower song that I discovered on the Burning Love compilation. 4748 Bat Out of Hell-Meat Loaf 1977 One of the many epics on the same title album. 4747 Oh My My-Ringo Starr 1974 Heard this the other day when the Timeless Rock station was featuring 74. But how did this make number 1? 4746 Tobacco Road-David Lee Roth 1986 Dave is big into covers, but this was just another unnecessary one. 4745 A.F.U. Van Halen 1988 I think the full title is AFU (Naturally Wired). Decent, but probably haven't listened to it since then. 4744 Rock Me on the Water-Jackson Browne 1972 Saw this again, on a radio list. Decent tune. 4743 Mountain Music-Alabama 1982 Pure hillbilly, right down to mentioning Grandma and Grandpa! 4742 Jammin' Me-Tom Petty 1987 Surprised this did as well as it (especially against Here Comes My Girl!!) in the tourney. I consider this a real down time for him. Plus it didn't even make his single disc greatest hits. 4741 Jet Airliner-Steve Miller 1977 Type of song I remember from growing up. Tired of it though. 4740 Pretty Girl Why-Buffalo Springfield 1968 (new additon) The first of two Stills additions to the list. This is nice, but that third album just wasn't as great as the first two (probably because it was thrown together by Furay and Messina after the band was dead). 4739 4 + 20-Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young 1970(new addition) Nice short acoustic number on a this wonderful album. 4738 It’s a Long Way There-Little River Band 1976 Don't remember this at all from when it was out. Discovered it on the Greatest Hits. Not among their elite. Go for it!

4757 My Home's in Alabama-Alabama 1980 Great song from my favorite country group.
4756 Never Gonna Fall in Love Again-Eric Carmen 1976 Not quite as powerful as All By Myself, but still very good.
4755 Dream Warriors-Dokken 1987 I'm not too familiar with them.
4754 Baby I Need Your Lovin'-Four Tops 1964 Very nicely done.
4753 Freedom-George Michael 1990 (previous ranking 2836) Is this the same song as the Wham hit? I know it by title, but I'm vague on the rest.
4752 Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours)-Peter Frampton 1973 (new addition) Great cover. I almost never hear this anymore, which is a shame.
4751 Black Country Woman-Led Zeppelin 1975 From one of their best periods.
4750 Almost Cut My Hair Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young-1970 (new addition) Good, but there are others from that album I like more.
4749 It’s a Matter of Time-Elvis 1972 I don't think I've heard this.
4748 Bat Out of Hell-Meat Loaf 1977 Two Out of Three is great, but I've never warmed up to this.
4747 Oh My My-Ringo Starr 1974 Always liked this a lot - I remember this was popular at the same time as Band on the Run.
4746 Tobacco Road-David Lee Roth 1986 Don't know it.
4745 A.F.U. Van Halen 1988 Not familiar with this.
4744 Rock Me on the Water-Jackson Browne 1972 Pretty good, but a little overplayed at times.
4743 Mountain Music-Alabama 1982 This was a huge favorite at my high school back in the day - just about everyone I knew loved it! Great song.
4742 Jammin' Me-Tom Petty 1987 Not his best.
4741 Jet Airliner-Steve Miller 1977 This brings back many childhood memories. Good one!
4740 Pretty Girl Why-Buffalo Springfield 1968 (new additon) I don't know this, but would be interested in checking it out!
4739 4 + 20-Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young 1970(new addition) Nice, but doesn't get nearly the play of most other songs from that album.
4738 It’s a Long Way There-Little River Band 1976 Love this!! My favorite of all their songs.

I knew Martina was going to be on, but I had to go to work. Doesn't matter though, we had a power failure, so my wife couldn't watch it either. 4757 My Home's in Alabama-Alabama 1980 Don't know it. 4756 Never Gonna Fall in Love Again-Eric Carmen 1976 He's got the closest thing to a Roy Orbison voice that I've heard. Love most of his music with or without the Raspberries. This one is in my top 250. I remember being home sick one day that year, and had the Mike Douglas Show on, and Eric was a guest. They let him sing All By Myself, but then MIKE DOUGLAS sang Never Gonna Fall In Love Again. 4755 Dream Warriors-Dokken 1987 Don''t know it. 4754 Baby I Need Your Lovin'-Four Tops 1964 Love the Tops! Love this song. This is the better version, IMO. 4753 Freedom-George Michael 1990 (previous ranking 2836) Don't know it. 4752 Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours)-Peter Frampton 1973 (new addition) Never been a Frampton fan, usually not a cover fan, but Peter covers this one quite nicely. (Not as good as Stevie, though. 4751 Black Country Woman-Led Zeppelin 1975 Don't know it. 4750 Almost Cut My Hair Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young-1970 (new addition) Not bad, but haven't heard it in decades. 4749 It’s a Matter of Time-Elvis 1972 Think I've heard it, but I'm not sure. 4748 Bat Out of Hell-Meat Loaf 1977 One of my favorite albums of all time. Title cut is very good, but ranks, IMO, only fourth best cut on the album. 4747 Oh My My-Ringo Starr 1974 John, and especially Paul and George would have each had a very good chance to "make it" as solo artists even had there never been The Beatles. Ringo, I'm not so sure. His music with a couple of exceptions is very forgettable. This one is forgettable, except that there WAS The Beatles. 4746 Tobacco Road-David Lee Roth 1986 and 4745 A.F.U. Van Halen 1988 Both of these are from THE FORBIDDEN YEARS. ;D 4744 Rock Me on the Water-Jackson Browne 1972 I think I heard it once or twice back then. Title sounds familiar. 4743 Mountain Music-Alabama 1982 Don't know it. 4742 Jammin' Me-Tom Petty 1987 Don't know it. 4741 Jet Airliner-Steve Miller 1977 Eh.... most of his songs REALLY sound alike. 4740 Pretty Girl Why-Buffalo Springfield 1968 (new additon) Don't know it. 4739 4 + 20-Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young 1970(new addition) Another song I probably last listened to 20 years ago. 4738 It’s a Long Way There-Little River Band 1976 Don't know it.

As much as I enjoy the Today show, I'm rarely up for it! Too bad I missed Martina, but I just found out yesterday that Fleetwood Mac was on there last month and did four songs. And I missed THAT!!! What songs did Martina do, btw?
4757 - 4755. Don't know these. And I've never even heard of Dokken.
4754 Baby I Need Your Lovin' - Four Tops
Excellent Motown groove.
4753 Freedom - George Michael
You would think George would have gotten more male models in the video...Great song though. I love the burning leather jacket in the closet during the video. Very cool.
4752 - 4749. Not familiar with these.
4748 Bat Out of Hell - Meat Loaf
I don't believe I know this one, but I've never been a big fan of his.
4747 Oh My My - Ringo Starr
I know a song with this title, but it's not Ringo. I doubt it's the same tune, but how does this one go?
4746 - 4745. Don't know these.
4743 Mountain Music - Alabama
Very hillbilly, but not bad.
4742 - 4738. And I end today's list just as I began it.

I REALLY need to go back and respond to these lists, H2's and Dave's, too! But I've been SO busy with school, so I'll do what I can..
4756 Never Gonna Fall in Love Again-Eric Carmen 1976
If you listen carefully to this song, you will hear a BLATENT Brian Wilson influence. The instrumental break sounds like it came right from the Pet Sounds sessions! For that reason, if none other, I love this song..
4755 Dream Warriors-Dokken 1987
I LOVE Dokken! They were one of my favorite bands back in High School. But I was never too crazy about this song....
4753 Freedom-George Michael 1990 (previous ranking 2836)
No, Dawn, this wasn't the Wham! hit. I actually like this song better. I've played this a time or two at the club, but I know of other DJ's who played it a LOT (and still do..)
4752 Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours)-Peter Frampton 1973 (new addition)
Not a bad cover, but nothing spectacular.
4751 Black Country Woman-Led Zeppelin 1975
I usually take the album off by this point..
4747 Oh My My-Ringo Starr 1974
This song reminds me of the "Drunken Ringo" appearance on "The Flo & Eddie Radio Show".
4746 Tobacco Road-David Lee Roth 1986
So-so. I liked some of the other songs on "Eat 'em And Smile"....... "Gimme a bottle of anything, and a glazed donut.... TO GO!....."
4745 A.F.U. Van Halen 1988
Not an album I cared much for.
4742 Jammin' Me-Tom Petty 1987
Three letters - DDT!
4741 Jet Airliner-Steve Miller 1977
Good riff, but I've never been big on Steve Miller.
4738 It’s a Long Way There-Little River Band 1976
Good first hit. They would do MUCH better, though!

4756 Never Gonna Fall in Love Again-Eric Carmen 1976 If you listen carefully to this song, you will hear a BLATENT Brian Wilson influence. The instrumental break sounds like it came right from the Pet Sounds sessions! For that reason, if none other, I love this song.. This is one reason I love The Click. I've listened to this song countless times, and never thought of the Beach Boys connection, Pete. But, reading your comments and "playing" the song in my mind, it's SO clear. Thanks!

'k...
4757 My Home's in Alabama-Alabama 1980 Good.
4756 Never Gonna Fall in Love Again-Eric Carmen 1976 Love this. Don't hear as much Beach Boys influence as much as "She Did It" though.
4755 Dream Warriors-Dokken 1987 Not bad. Preferred earlier "Lock and Key" album from '85.
4754 Baby I Need Your Lovin'-Four Tops 1964 One of Motown's best tunes EVER.
4753 Freedom-George Michael 1990 (previous ranking 2836) Good one, but prefer Wham's "Freedom". To avoid confusion, this is usually called "Freedom '90".
4752 Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours)-Peter Frampton 1973 (new addition) Loved this since current. It's 1977, BTW.
4751 Black Country Woman-Led Zeppelin 1975 Not bad.
4750 Almost Cut My Hair Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young-1970 (new addition) Good, but better ones from Deja Vu.
4749 It’s a Matter of Time-Elvis 1972 OK. Gimme Brook Benton or even Randy Travis.
4748 Bat Out of Hell-Meat Loaf 1977 Great one.
4747 Oh My My-Ringo Starr 1974 Not quite #1, but #5. Ringo's popularity was quite high in '74, so much anything was a sure-fire top 10 for him.
4746 Tobacco Road-David Lee Roth 1986 Loved this version in high school. Prefer the Nashville Teens' original now.
4745 A.F.U. Van Halen 1988 Right on! A fave in my first year in college. I once called the title "All funked up". ;D
4744 Rock Me on the Water-Jackson Browne 1972 Good one, but not quite in my top 10 of his.
4743 Mountain Music-Alabama 1982 One of their best!
4742 Jammin' Me-Tom Petty 1987 From that crazy year of 1987, even when rock artists went either too "pop" or a little off their norm like this. Always loved this, and even glancing at the video somewhere!
4741 Jet Airliner-Steve Miller 1977 Great one! Won't allow the "funky kicks" version...
4740 Pretty Girl Why-Buffalo Springfield 1968 (new additon) Could investigate.
4739 4 + 20-Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young 1970(new addition) Not bad, but prefer "Cut hair".
4738 It’s a Long Way There-Little River Band 1976 I could have heard this a time or two before I got my Hits LP in early '83. I don't play this as much as most of the others, but still good.

Almost Cut My Hair - Great album, bad song
Its a Matter of Time - don't know it
Bat Out of Hell - Great rock epic, love it
Oh My My - There were 35 different #1 songs in 1974. I could have pressed a record and made #1. BTW, great song by Ringo
Tobacco Road - Don't know it
AFU - don't know it
Rock Me On the Water - good, but somewhat forgotten Jackson Browne song.
Mountain Music - One of Alabama's best.
Jammin' Me - Not a favorite

4+20 - nice little ditty
It's A Long Way There - LRB had so many great songs, including this one.

4757 My Home's in Alabama-Alabama 1980 Never heard of it
4756 Never Gonna Fall in Love Again-Eric Carmen 1976 I've always liked this for some reason
4755 Dream Warriors-Dokken 1987 For a band that didn't "want" to embrace the hair band title, they sure did use a lot of hairspray.
4754 Baby I Need Your Lovin'-Four Tops 1964 Not one of their best IMO
4753 Freedom-George Michael 1990 (previous ranking 2836) Love this track
4752 Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours)-Peter Frampton 1973 (new addition) Nice cover
4751 Black Country Woman-Led Zeppelin 1975 Does nothing for me
4750 Almost Cut My Hair Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young-1970 (new addition) I've always loved Crosby's voice on this

4748 Bat Out of Hell-Meat Loaf 1977 Not the best
4747 Oh My My-Ringo Starr 1974 Ok I guess
4746 Tobacco Road-David Lee Roth 1986 kinda lame 4745 A.F.U. Van Halen 1988 Don't remember this
4744 Rock Me on the Water-Jackson Browne 1972 Like this one a lot
4743 Mountain Music-Alabama 1982 The song I most associate with them
